Some Cards to Share

There's been creative time this past week, but no time for posting, so here's a catch up of this weeks creations.  A couple of these were made by Linda, one of my customers and co-worker (um... she's one of my bosses, so be nice... lol).

I just love this first one.  She got the idea from an old post from Mary Fish but made a few changes to it.  Mary's was a square card and Linda made hers the standard 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 card size.  So much easier to mail.  We actually finished this one together on Friday since Linda didn't have the Scallop Trim Corner Punch (118870).  Linda made two cards, one with blonde hair and one with dark hair, each for one of her little neices.

Recipe:

Cardstock:  Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Watercolor Paper.  DSP - Patterns DSP Brights, Island Oasis (retired).

Stamps: Greeting Card Kids (w-119887 / c-120663) and Teeny Tiny Wishes (115370 - wood only available).

Inks and Markers:  Black Staz-On, Pumpkin Pie, More Mustard, Rich Razzleberry, Sahara Sand, Blush Blossom, Old Olive.

Punches: Scallop Trim(118402), Scallop Trip Corner (118870).

Finishing Touches - Ribbon - Rich Razzleberry with dots (retired), Basic Rhinestones (119246) and Basic Pearls (119247).

Linda also made this card for a friend of mine who's going through some serious health issues.

This is a card I made for the same friend.  She received it already, so I can post it now.  Didn't want to post it where she would see it first.

This card uses:  Herb Expressions (113224), Perfect Plum c/s, Whisper White c/s and Nursery Nest DSP (122347).  There are so many pretty papers in the Nursery Nest pack that can be used for so many things besides babies.  I used Stampin' Write Markers to color the flowers - Perfect Plum and Pear Pizzazz.  Punch used was the Decorative Label Punch (120907).

This one is the same as above except I used Pretty in Pink.

Every little boy (and lots of girls) LOVE Legos!  This card was really fun to make.  I have to admit, my fingers were very colorful after sponging the little circles with ink to give them depth, but it was well worth it for how it turned out.

I used the middle sized round from the Owl Builder Punch (118074) to make the small pieces.  Colors used were Pacific Point, Real Red and Whisper White.

Stamp Set:  Bring on the Cake (w-121899 / c-121958)
Thanks for looking in today and hope you enjoyed the fun cards we have to share.

Have a great weekend and create something pretty!!

Arizona Fall Beauty

We had a wonderful time on our getaway, but I'm so very glad to be home so I can sleep in my own bed and actually get a good nights' sleep.  The room we had was awesome and the bed was very comfortable, I just couldn't rest and fall asleep.

But on the bright side, here are some beautiful pictures of the trees and our awesome room.  If you are ever in Payson, Arizona you should check out the Majestic Mountain Inn.  This was our second time visiting there and we've been very pleased both times with the facilities and our stay there.

Thi is the view as you come in the door from the parking lot, notice the back door out to a grassy area facing the back doors of the other building facing us.  We had two rocker patio chairs out there to enjoy the sunset with.
This is facing the other way - see my little Bugg peeking in the door?  LOL

We drove from Payson up to the higher elevations towards and into Flagstaff, AZ.  Aren't the colors beautiful!

This beauty was taken inside Flagstaff.  There were only a couple of truly red / orange trees like this one.

This isn't a great picture since the reflection from the dashboard is right down the middle of the tree (NO, I'm not driving, Mark is...lol) but this particular tree is native to well, I'm not sure... maybe to T-Mobile or Verizon.  It's a FAKE TREE with cell antenna's up at the top.  How funny is that??  It's bigger than any of the real pine trees around it!
Well, that's my post for today.  Off to package up Linda's workshop order that came in yesterday so I can take it to the office tomorrow.

Hope you had a great day!

MIA for a bit...

I'll be away from the computer for a few days, so won't be available to post anything, but when I return, I'm hoping to be able to post some beautiful pictures of some of Arizona's Beauty and the changing of the colors.

Be creative for me while I'm away.

Spotlight on Oz

I just love the creativity of this card!!  This card was made by Linda this week for Helen's birthday earlier this week.  Helen is from Kansas and has a great collection of Wizard of Oz stuff.

Check out this adorable Dorothy.!!

It's all SU except for the flowered paper.  Linda was aiming for "sunflowers" to go with Kansas and this is what she had.

Take a close look at the braids - this is where I love the creativity - she used the branch from the Bird Punch and then cut off the leaves - it really looks like braids!

So, I'm off to finish getting ready for tomorrow's workshop.  Have a wonderful weekend - make something crafty!

Another Sneak Peek for this Weekend

I thought I'd share another sneak peek for this weekend's workshop.  This will be from the 2nd project we'll be doing... yes, Christmas!  It will be here before we know it and I know I'm anxious to get more cards made and be ready for the Holiday!  This one is really going to be cute with a little surprise inside!

I just love short work weeks, don't you?  Tomorrow will be Wednesday and halfway done!  Have a great Wednesday!

Workshop Sneak Peek

Linda's workshop is coming this next Saturday and for a change, I'm all ready - EARLY!  I'm so excited to have our projects done and ready to stamp.  Yayy!  So, I think I'll post a little sneak peek of one of our projects.   Yep... it's Christmas!!  Watch later this week for another sneak peek.

I'm sure you've all heard about the big promotion this month - Join Stampin' Up! and receive a FREE BIG SHOT!  (or $100 in extra merchandise if you already have a Big Shot).  What I want to share with you though is something I read from Lorri Heiling, another Demonstrator that she shared with her customers.  With all the details about joining, her short paragraph really explains it simply.  Thanks Lorri for a simple way explanation.

Lorri said:

"Let me share a story with you! One of my customers called me today to place an order. As she was reading off what she wanted to order, I kept thinking she's better off getting the KIT. In a nutshell, she got EVERYTHING SHE WANTED on her list, plus about 16 more items!!!! NOT ONLY DID SHE GET 16
MORE ITEMS, BUT SHE SAVED $10 BY BUYING THE STARTER KIT!!! Don't forget, by buying the Starter Kit, you aren't saying you want to hold workshops and classes. You are just saying that you want a GREAT DEAL and a great savings, plus products at wholesale prices! You can let your demonstratorship expire and you keep the products! OR if you would like to continue getting the discount, your minimums aren't due until March 31st, 2012!"
I hope you're enjoying a nice day off - Columbus Day here in the States / Thanksgiving in Canada.

Create something pretty today!

Red Hat Owls

A friend is having a birthday today and she wants to be a Red Hat Lady someday.  So, of course we had to make her Red Hat Owl Cards.  In searching all through Splitcoast Stampers website and just searching in general online, we couldn't find one anywhere, so we had to design our own.  I think they came out great!

Here's mine and its SUO.

Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Real Red, Elegant Eggplant, Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Basic Black and Red Glimmer Paper (121790).
DSP:  Holly Berry Bouquet
Stamp Set:  Not So Seriously (w - 123085 / c - 123087)
Tools:  Owl Builder Punch (118074)

Here is Linda's Card:

Cardstock: Whisper White, Real Red, Concord Crush, Crumb Cake, Basic Black
DSP:  Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack (Concord Crush).
Tools: Owl Builder Punch (118074) and Bird Builder (117191)
Sentiment:  Not Stampin' Up!

I'm really tickled at how these turned out!!!

Have a great day!

A Great Day of Card Making

We had a great day today celebrating World Card Making Day.  Here we are working on our projects.  Linda was very busy making owl creations for Halloween and Kristi and Berta were working on Halloween Treats for their childrens' classmates for later this month.

I can't remember where the idea for this "pumpkin owl/bat" came from, but isn't it adorable?  As soon as I get the name from Linda, I'll update this post.

This little Vampire Owl comes from Creations on Paper.  Linda made up the rest of the card.  Everything except the "RIP" is Stampin' UP! products.

I made this one using Dawn Olchefske's idea - her version was an adorable Halloween Card.

This is the finished product from Berta that she and Kristi are making.  Also seen in the Holiday Mini on page 11.  HEY, that makes this project a Ditto Day!

Two more Owl / Creatures from Linda.  "Frank" was also discovered on Creations on Paper as was the "Mummy" below.

Here's the Mummy... and Daddy...  I know... groan...............

And finally, I've decided to make this card for one of my Team Meeting swaps this month, so figured I'd get a headstart.
So... did you create anything today for World Card Making Day?  Hope you had a wonderful time!

~ Donna
