Cheers For You

Have you ever wondered what colors to use together so it works well?  Me too!!  Short of looking at what others do and looking for different color challenges, you can find your own inspiration by using the Stampin' Up! Color Coach.  That's exactly what I did today to make the card below.  The colors used are Lucky Limeade, Daffodil Delight and Island Indigo.  I really like how they came out!  What do you think?

Stamps Well With Others Supplies:

Stamps:  Happy Hour (w-126640 / c-126642)
Ink:  Lucky Limeade (126984), Daffodil Delight (126944), Island Indigo (126986)
Card stock:  Whisper White (100730, Daffodil Delight (119683)

So, it's New Year's Eve... what are your plans?  Anything fun?  Whatever you do, please be safe and watch out for others around you and whatever you do, don't drink and drive!

3" x 3" Fold Card

I'm having so much fun playing with the new products that you will be seeing soon in the Spring Catalog and in the Sale-A-Bration Brochure!  Did you know, if you are a Demonstrator, you can see and order everything you want a month before anyone else?  Drop me a line if you are interested in becoming one of the lucky ones that can get their hands on new products before the public!

Once again, I've found my inspiration from Mary Fish.  She used different DSP and stamps, but the base card and measurements came from her blog.

This is a very clean and simple card that can be used for so many things.  Wouldn't this be fun for your kids' Valentine's this year?  Simple to make and the little ones can have fun stamping and punching with you!

Start with card stock cut at 7" x 3" and score on the long side at 2" and at 5".  I just love my Simply Scored Scoring Tool for all my scoring.  Then I used the tiny hearts pattern from the More Amore Specialty Designer Series Paper (129309) available in the Spring Catalog beginning January 3rd.  Cut the DSP to 1 3/4" x 2 3/4". Cut another piece of Whisper White also at 1 3/4" x 2 3/4".

Using your 1 1/4" circle punch, punch a hole in the center of the Whisper White card stock and attach it with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Since I was going for a Valentine theme here, I used the cute heart stamp from "Spring Sampler" (w-125510 / c-125512) also in the Spring Catalog.  It was stamped with Primrose Petals ink.

Another new stamp set from the Spring Catalog is called "Ciao, Baby!" (w-129645 / c-129648) and punched with the Petite Curly Label Punch (129405) that you can earn for free during Sale-A-Bration!  I popped it up with a Stampin' Dimensional so the left hand panel can tuck under and stay closed.

Stamps Well With Others Supplies:

Stamps:  "Spring Sampler" (w-125510 / c-125512), "Ciao, Baby!" (w-129645 / c-129648) - both from the Spring Catalog beginning January 3, 2013
Card Stock:  Whisper White (100730); More Amore Specialty Designer Series Paper (129309)
Ink:  Primrose Petals (126858)
Tools:  1 1/4" Circle Punch (119861) and Petite Curly Label Punch (129405) - available during Sale-A-Bration.

I hope you've enjoyed this cute card.  So many designs can be made with it using the Spring Sampler Stamp Set.  You're going to love all the cute stamps in that set!

Until next time... Happy Stamping!

Happy Birthday - Sneak Peeks Ahead!

This pattern comes from Mary Fish, from Tucson, Arizona just a couple of hours south of where I am in Phoenix.  Mary has always been a great inspiration with the beautiful cards and creations she makes.  Thank you Mary!

My version has a sneak peek at some pretty papers from the upcoming Spring Catalog (beginning January 3rd) as well as a stamp from the Sale-A-Bration event (beginning January 22nd).

I love the bright springtime colors in this Designer Series Paper including Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade, Marina Mist, Melon Mambo and Pacific Point.

This simple card can be changed up to be more masculine with different DSP choices or made even more feminine by using Melon Mambo in place of the Marina Mist.

Stamps Well With Others Supplies:

Stamp Set:  Patterned Occasions** (w-129621 / c-129624)
Paper:  Sunshine & Sprinkles Designer Series Paper Stack* (126922), Sahara Sand (121043), Marina Mist (119682), Lucky Limeade (122926), Whisper White (100730)
Ink:  Lucky Limeade (126984)

Future Stamp-a-Stack

The bright spring colors are so pretty here!  Even better, is this design would work with any of our pretty DSP's in our catalogs.  The stamp set used here is Embellished Events from the Annual Catalog on page 40. Love the images and the greetings that go so perfectly together.

This will be one of our future Stamp-a-Stack projects.  So very much looking forward to stamping with the girls again.  The holidays and our recent election cycle really kept us all hopping and unable to really get together, so it will be a treat when we meet next month to stamp!

I found this design by Jacque Craig on Splitcoaststampers.  I love that it's very simple and colorful at the same time.  There will be a couple of changes to the final card for SAS.  The white background will use an embossing folder, probably Perfect Polka Dots, but when I was assembling this, I didn't have access to my folder.  There will also be a birthday greeting of choice (stamped before embossing, of course!).

Stamps Well With Others Recipe:
Stamps:  Embellished Events (w-126495 / c-126497)
Card Stock:  Rose Red, Whisper White
DSP:  Floral District (126919)
Stampin' Write Markers:  Baja Breeze, Rich Razzleberry, Rose Red, Daffodil Delight
Ribbon: 16" Daffodil Delight 1/4 Stitched Grosgrain (126872)
Tools:  Big Shot, 3" Circle Originals Die (122125), 2 3/8" Scallop Punch (118874)
Bling:  Dazzling Details (124117)

Thank you for peeking in today!  Happy Friday and everyone have a safe weekend as we get ready to bring in the new year!

Perfectly Preserved Flowers

I hope you all had a great Christmas!  We sure did at our house having my boys over for brunch and then my  stepdaughter and her boyfriend over for lunch.  They all have difficult work schedules, even during the holidays, so I was tickled to get any time I could, especially with my boys since they're more difficult to pin down!

So Wednesday I was searching for cards for upcoming Stamp-a-Stack classes and ran across this beautiful card by Mary Shields.  When I spotted it, I simply fell in love with it and had to make one, so here it is.

Stampin' Up! Supplies:

Stamps:  Perfectly Preserved - from the Holiday Mini - but carrying over into the new year!!  Woo Hoo! (w-126690 / c-125592)
Card Stock:  Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White
Ink:  StazOn Black, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Tangerine Tango Stampin' Write Marker
Extras:  Heat & Stick Powder, Dazzling Diamonds, VersaMark Stamp Pad and Heat Tool also Perfectly Preserved Framelits for the jar lid and the Lattice Embossing Folder.

Isn't it beautiful?  I just love the freshness of the look and with spring coming up before we know it - I actually saw Valentine candy at the grocery store tonight!!! - I thought it would be a beautiful card to share.

Happy Thursday!

This set is called Bloomin' Marvelous.  There are 8 stamps in the set - 4 with words, 4 with images.

Tea Jar

I made this as a Christmas gift for one of my co-workers.  I found the jar at The Container Store and love how it holds two full boxes of tea.

The paper used on the jar and the lid is a sneak peek at some of the DSP from the upcoming Spring Catalog.  The name of the paper is appropriate for the gift as well... It's called Tea for Two, isn't that just perfect?

The papers in this set are really very pretty and I'll be using more of them making some more cards soon.

Have a great day!

A Little Something

A little something I've been working on the last few nights while watching t.v. - perfect project for t.v. time and almost finished and ready to be given as gifts later this week.  I won't say any more or it could ruin the surprise.  (shhhhh... don't tell).  Plus... there's an added little sneak peek in this picture from the next mini catalog, do you see it?

Thanks to Diana Gibbs for this great idea!  I'd been trying to find the perfect trinket and this is it!

Happy Tuesday everyone.... ONE more week until Santa Arrives!

Love and Sympathy

I'm working on a set of cards to give as a gift to someone for Christmas.  She doesn't see my blog unless Linda shows her, so Linda... don't show Karen!  This card was spotted on Splitcoaststampers posted by Roberta.  She used a different color and different ribbon.  I wanted to show off some of the new ribbon that will be available in the Spring Mini beginning on January 3rd.  Isn't it beautiful?  It will be available in three colors.  This one is Melon Mambo - one of my very favorites.

Recipe ~

Stamps:  Love & Sympathy (w-122795 / c-122797)
Card Stock:  Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink:  Black StazOn (for sentiments)
Stampin' Write Markers:  Melon Mambo, Old Olive

Measurements:  Whisper White base - cut longways at 4 1/4" x 11" - score at 5 1/2"
Whisper White for flower - 2" x 4 3/4"
Basic Black for mat - 2 1/8" x 4 7/8"
Ribbon - 8"

I love the way the stamp colors with the Stampin' Write Markers and leaves a beautiful impression behind.

Enjoy your Sunday - create something beautiful!

Kiss Me Tree

I just love this little tree.... so much so, that I agreed to make 25 of them for my Mother-in-Law!  Yikes!  hahaha... actually, it wasn't too bad and they came together rather quickly.  I found the idea and information on Qbee's Quest.

I decided she needed some gift tags to put on them, so I'm finishing these up and they will be ready for delivery.  The plan was to take them up to her Thursday, but we've had a sick kitty and we were afraid to leave her, so they haven't yet been delivered.  Maybe today if the rain isn't too heavy.  We're grateful for the rain though, so no complaints there.  Mom is an hour and a half away and there could be snow between here and there, so being cautious.

There will be Cherry Cobbler Twine on the corners of the tags that she can attach after she writes her notes inside the little cards.

The tags / cards are 2" x 4" and scored at 2" to fold into a card for writing inside.

Recipe for Tree:
Card Stock:  Real Red, Gumball Green, Chocolate Chip
Stamps:  Teeny Tiny Wishes (w-115370 / c-127802)
Ink:  Gumball Green
Ribbon:  Gumball Green 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon

Recipe for Tag:
Card Stock: Whisper White
Stamps:  Delightful Decorations (w-116517 / c-127787)
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Ribbon:  Cherry Cobbler Baker's Twine (123125)
Extra:  Ornament Punch (119847)

Thanks for looking in.  Have a wonderful weekend!

My Order is IN!

Not only do I have a new starter kit - my choice of $125.00 worth of new stamps and paper for the price of $99.00 - but today I received my pre-order box of goodies from the upcoming 2013 Spring Mini Catalog.  Did you know as a Demonstrator, you have the ability to purchase things a month ahead of everyone else???  I was also able to earn free Sale-a-bration stuff long before Sale-a-bration even begins!  Wooo Hooo!

While I can't show you the new toys, I can show you what I make with them, so get ready over the next few days to see some of the things I'll be making with some great new tools and stamps that you'll be able to buy beginning in January!

So be ready for some great posts this week!

Happy Tuesday!

The Stockings Were Hung...

I spotted this cute card on Frenchie's blog last week and just knew I had to CASE it.  It was so fast and easy to do and has such a nice clean look to it.  I ended up making 8 of them in no time at all, even with all the stamping.

I really love how these turned out.  I may just make some more... but no, I have other cards I want to try instead.  Oh the decisions!!!

Recipe:

Stamps: Open Sleigh (w-126460 / c-126462) pg. 12
Card Stock: Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Very Vanilla
Ink:  Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Soft Suede and Crumb Cake
Tools:  Stamp-a-ma-jig (101049) pg. 7

Hope you had a wonderful weekend.  Back to work for me, but then again, I still have some time to use before I lose it, so maybe I'll take some more time off this week.  So many things to do!

Have a great week!

Bright Blossoms Birthday Card

Our other birthday girl in the office was Linda - also a stamper in the group!  This was a simple card but I love how it turned out.  Everything is Stampin' Up! except the buttons.  I couldn't find my stash of SU buttons anywhere.  It's amazing though how well these matched up to our colors though.

Twitterpated Birthday

Well we had a couple of birthdays in the office lately.  The most recent one was on Wednesday for my boss Karen.  Here's the card I made for her birthday.  It's a very simple card but has a lot of style and it's great for using up some of those scraps of paper we all have in our supplies!

I adhered strips of Twitterpated DSP onto a scrap of old copier paper then ran it through the Big Shot with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder and then through again with the Top Note Bigz Die.  Using snips, cut off the perforated edge so that it can be layered onto solid card stock.

It's hard to tell here, but the Whisper White card stock was embossed using the Stripes Embossing Folder before attaching the Top Note cut outs.  Full details on products used below.

Recipe:

Stamps:  Bring on the Cake (w-121899 / c-121958) - pg. 142
Ink:  Riding Hood Red (126968) - pg. 155
Card Stock: Whisper White (100730) - pg. 156 and Riding Hood Red (111348) - pg. 155
DSP:  Twitterpated (125406) - pg. 165
Ribbon:  3/8" Taffeta Ribbon - Riding Hood Red (122988) - pg. 173
Big Shot (113439) - pg. 186/187 and Accessories: Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder (120175) pg. 189 and Stripes Embossing Folder (123128) pg. 189
Extras:  Glue Dots (103683) pg. 177 - for attaching ribbon; Stampin' Dimensionals (104430) pg. 177 - for attaching "Happy Birthday"; Paper Snips (103579) pg. 180

A little added note here... if you don't have a pair of Stampin' Up! Paper Snips yet, why not??  I myself held off on getting them because I had another brand that looked just like them except in a pretty color.  Well, when I gave in, I wondered what had taken me so long!  These things cut through ribbon so smooth and crisp, you won't believe it!

Thanks for looking in.  Have a great Saturday!

FREE INK!! Awesome!

Have you ever thought of becoming a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator?  If you've even thought of it a little bit, now is the perfect time to think about it again.

Between now and December 16th, you can receive a free collection (Brights, Subtles or Regals) of ink.  I just got mine when I re-joined and I'm so excited to have all three sets now and grateful I hadn't purchased all three before I could earn the last one.

Have questions?  See the FAQ's below that might answer some of your questions or please feel free to contact me.

FAQs about Being a Demonstrator

1.   What are the minimum sales requirements?
You only need to submit $300 in sales per quarter. That is less than an average Stampin’ Up!® workshop!
Also, you can submit your sales in any increment you wish and still receive your 20 percent discount and
commission.

2.   What if I want to do this as a hobby and not necessarily a business?
Stampin’ Up! supports all demonstrators, no matter their goals or the level at which they choose to run
their business. If you choose not to hold workshops, you can simply place your own orders and/or
collect orders from family and friends to equal the $300 quarterly sales minimum.

3.   Can I be my own hostess?
Yes, you can be your own hostess anytime you want. Invite your family and friends into your home and
have a workshop. You will be the hostess, receiving the hostess benefits, as well as the demonstrator,
receiving your instant income and commission.

4.   How much does it cost to get started as a demonstrator?
The Starter Kit is only $99, and is fully customizable. You choose up to $125 worth of any current
Stampin’ Up! products, and you will also receive a business supplies pack containing materials you need
to run your business (valued at $65).

5.   How can I make money as a demonstrator?
You can earn money in three ways: instant income (20 percent of each order), monthly volume rebates
(5–20 percent of total sales), and monthly downline override commissions (2–6.5 percent of your
recruits’ sales).

6.   Do I have to recruit other demonstrators?
No. If you were to recruit demonstrators, you would be paid override commissions on your downline’s
sales, but this is a perk, not a requirement.

7.   Where will I get project ideas for my workshops? What kind of training can I expect?
Stampin’ Up! provides dozens of training resources filled with project ideas and tips to help you run
every aspect of your business, including a monthly publication called Stampin’ Success, Demonstrator
Support agents, a demonstrator-only website, hundreds of samples, annual and seasonal catalogs, a
training DVD, the Demonstrator Manual, and a Product Guide.

8.   Is Stampin’ Up! a well-known, respected company?
Since 1988, Stampin’ Up! has been selling rubber stamps and paper-crafting supplies. In that time, not
only have we won industry awards and accolades, but also the loyalty and admiration of demonstrators
and customers alike. And that is a trend that we work hard to maintain. You can rest assured that the
reputation of Stampin’ Up! will only continue to improve!

9.   What if I decide that I don’t like it once I’ve started? Will I be penalized if I quit?
You may choose to stop at anytime, and you will not be penalized. You simply stop placing orders.
However, there are many benefits to remaining an active demonstrator.

If you have any questions about Stampin’ Up! or becoming a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, please contact me:  Donna Kish

Watercolor Winter Revisited

Ok, so it was just yesterday that I posted Watercolor Winter, but in assembling my cards I found that I ran out of Cherry Cobbler card stock, so I put some of them on Gumball Green (great idea Brittney, thanks!).  I really like how it makes the Gumball Green pine jump out even more!

I also discovered that Dazzling Diamonds don't stay on with just VersaMark.  I should have known that ... so next batch of these I make will be using the Heat and Stick Powder (100625).

Watercolor Winter Christmas Card

I found the idea for this card on Sarah Will's website.  I changed it up a bit by adding some pinecone's and changing the paper and sentiment.  This is going to be my Christmas Card this year for my family and friends (outside of stamping friends that is!).  It's easy to produce several at a time and they're quick to do, even with the paper piercing.

In stamping the pine needles, I stamped first with Gumball Green and then stamped again without re-inking which gives it a softer look.  The finishing touch is stamping again (after cleaning the stamp of course) with VersaMark and adding some Dazzling Diamonds.

Recipe:

Card Stock:  Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla
DSP:  Be of Good Cheer (126896)
