Quick and Simple Gift of Cards

This is a great little box with cute little cards to give with your gifts this year.  The box will hold up to five 3" x 3" cards with envelopes and some embellishments.  This great idea comes from Susan Itell.  Thanks Susan for the great instructions!

Here are the directions for the box and lid.  It's very easy - so don't panic, just give it a try! You will be so glad you did!

For the box - Cut the paper to 8” X 5 ½”.  Using the Simply Scored (122334), place the 8" side of the card stock and place it across the top.  Score at 3 ½” and 4 ½”.

Turn so the 5 1/2” side is at the top and score at 1” - rotate the paper around so the other 5 1/2" side is at the top and score again at 1”.

Use your Bone Folder (102300) all around to make the edges nice and crisp.  This will make your box look so much better.

Cut in at the score lines as shown in the picture.  Making this snip helps the box to fold up nice and clean with a very defined edge all around.

Use Sticky Strip (104294) to hold your box together.  This will keep your projects from falling apart, especially when weather and temperatures can have an effect on the adhesive.  Don't get me wrong, I love our Snail Adhesive, but for 3-D projects, Sticky Strip is really the best.

For the top of the box:

Cut a 5 5/8” X 3 1/8”  piece from the Season of Style Designer Series Paper Stack (132181).  Score at 1” on each side of the paper.  I've drawn the score lines in pencil below since it's nearly impossible to photograph on our pretty DSP.

Assemble the lid the same as you did the bottom and decorate the box as desired.

Your finished box will hold up to 5 small 3 x 3" cards with envelopes and embellishments.  You can see the Dimensionals when looking in from the top.

Just a reminder about saving paper, I used the Real Red Postage Stamp Punch which would be a "hidden" layer and punched out the ornament that would be used on top of the Whisper White 1" Punched card stock.  No need to snip that out of a larger piece of paper, when you can use what you have in front of you.  Yayyy!  I did the same thing with the other cards using the Mini Punch Pack.

The cards were all made with Whisper White cut at 6" x 3" and scored at 3".  Then a 2 1/2" square on top.  I used Christmas Messages (w-131790 / c-131793) and Christmas Tagables Photopolymer Stamp set (134623).

Also used were the Postage Stamp Punch (122344), Merry Minis Punch Pack (126882), 1" Square Punch (124094) and the Artisan Label Punch (130920).

Embellishments:  Silver 1/8" Ribbon (132137), Pearls Basic Jewels (119247), Rhinestone Basic Jewels (119246) and Dimensionals (104430).

Have a great week.  It's a week of Thanksgiving.  I hope you can spend your time making family memories.
