BLOOMIN' BOUQUET PROJECT KIT

Mother's Day. Teacher appreciation. Just because. Say thank you with this no-maintenance bouquet. There's no watering, no weeding-just enjoying. This easy-to-assemble kit comes complete with the petals, stems, and buttons to create the flowers, as well as four different tags to make this the perfect gift for any occasion. All you need is some paper, ribbon or a vase to add the finishing touches to the bouquet.

As if that weren't enough, the kit contains a "baker's dozen"! This means you can create and give (or keep) a dozen flowers, and have a bonus flower left over to pass along to someone new! Give it to someone you wouldn't normally think of: a teller at the bank, a grocery store clerk, or the librarian at your local library. Anyone you encounter on your way that you'd like to give a little "thank you" to-and introduce them to Stampin' Up!

Mosaic Madness with New In Colors

My very special pre-order came on Friday and Sunday I was able to make something with the fun new things you will be able to purchase beginning May 30th.   Even SOONER if you join my team, then you can pre-order too and have fun new Stampin' Up! products.

I'm really loving the new In Colors for 2013-2015.  They are all so beautiful!!  So far, I think Strawberry Slush is my favorite, but Baked Brown Sugar reminds me a bit of my two past favorite colors "Close to Cocoa" and "Creamy Caramel".

For this card, I've used all of the new In Colors to give you a little taste.  Going with these names, a real taste would be even better, they all sound so yummy.  Well, all but one, but I could see a nice tropical drink called Coastal Cabana.  Yum.

The other In Color's are Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Canteloupe, Baked Brown Sugar and Strawberry Slush, mix that with Coastal Cabana and you're all set!

Stamps Well With Others Recipe:

Card Stock:  Whisper White, Coastal Cabana
Ink:  Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Canteloupe, Baked Brown Sugar, Strawberry Slush and Coastal Cabana
Stamps:  Fabulous Phrases (w-117002 / c-120501) - (I chose "fabulous" because it is FABULOUS that you won't have to cut out this cute little mosaic shape!) and Mosaic Madness (numbers available later)
Accessories:  Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder, Mosaic Punch, dimensionals.

I'm so excited about the new things you'll be seeing with the upcoming Annual Catalog.  If you would like to have a new catalog when they are available and don't already have a Demonstrator, I would love it if you would contact me.  I will be happy to send you one.  Please though, if you already have a Demo, be sure to contact them and I'm sure they will be happy to send one your way.

To my current customers, you will be receiving one just as soon as they are available to you!

Thanks for looking in today.  Have a great week!

Alien Owls? Who Knew!

The Owl Builder Punch has to be the MOST used punch Stampin' Up! has.  I've lost count of how many incredibly cute things can be made from this punch.

I love this card, so many colors and my goodness, you could use any combination of colors you want for this.  To start, I punched out two complete owls from several colors.  Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green, Old Olive, Pacific Point, Island Indigo, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo.  I also punched out some 3/4", 1/2" and some extra circles from the Owl Punch in Whisper White and Basic Black.

Then I started assembling dots here and there and just had FUN with it.  This is a perfect project to do on the Silicone Craft Mat (127853).  So easy to put the Snail on the little dots and not have to worry about it sticking to the wrong stuff.

I used stamps from Henry Says (w-128090 / c-128093) to dress it up and make their planet help with the celebrating. At first I stamped the flags onto the planet using the Stamp-a-ma-jig, but it didn't show up very well on the Pacific Point, so I stamped again onto Whisper White and cut out the flags and adhered them directly over the stamp.

Chalkboard Birthday

I've seen a couple of these online lately, one by my upline, Lorri Heiling, but she made up her own instructions from one she'd seen on Pinterest, so I kept searching and found that Becky Roberts had easy to understand instructions.  So I made up a set of instructions for mine as well.

If you click on the picture, it should open as a bigger picture.  Read through all the instructions before you begin.

Start with a piece of Basic Black card stock cut at 4 1/2" x 11".  Score at 5 1/2" and fold tight with bone folder.

First you need to cut the legs.  With the open end of the card on your cutter, line up the edge at 1/2" and cut into the card for 1 1/2".

Flip the card over and cut the other side's legs with the open end of the card again, line up at 1/2" and cut into the card for 1 1/2".

Turn the card so the bottom is lined up at 1 1/2", move your cutter in 1/2" and then cut in between the two 1/2" cuts for the legs.  You may need to use your snips if cutting through two sheets of Basic Black card stock doesn't work.  It's pretty thick and a little hard to cut through 2 layers.

It should look like this when done cutting.  The first picture has lines drawn so you can see where I cut.  If you want to make marks to cut first, I recommend using pencil so you can erase it if you don't line up with your cutter exactly.

Using a piece of Soft Suede card stock cut at 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" ink up the Woodgrain background stamp (117100) with Soft Suede ink.

Cut two 1/2" strips, first from the long edge and then turn the card stock and cut two 1/2" strips from the short edge.

Attache the strips to the chalkboard (Basic Black card stock).  You'll need to trim the cross bars (the short pieces) if you don't want them to over lap.  I used my craft knife.

Stamp your image with Craft White Ink and then take a tissue and gently rub the ink before it has time to dry.  Dab your tissue on to the ink pad and randomly wipe it around the image to look like an erased chalk board.

Punch with your favorite small punch or variety of punches.  Punch a 1/16" hole (a soon to be retiring punch!) and string them together with Baker's Twine.  Notice the needle threader?  That is the best non-SU tool I've ever purchased!  It is the only way to thread through that incredibly small hole!  Makes it soooo easy!

Add your favorite ribbon to the ends to decorate the card a bit more and add some bling.  Everything is better with bling!

I hope you've enjoyed this cute card.  With school about to end, this is a perfect thank you card to make for your kids' teachers.  Use a white crayola pencil or our white uni-ball Signo Gel Pen (105021) to write the teacher's name or a simple 2 + 2 math problem!  :)

Congratulations!

Have you made your wish list yet of the retiring items you simply must have?  I know I've got mine ready and have already hit "send" along with some great pre-orders that will be in the upcoming catalog.  That's just one of the nice things about being a Demonstrator, we can order EARLY before anyone else.  Woo Hooo!!  You should join my team so you can order early too!

Today my oldest son leaves for California, or is probably already on the road by the time you see this.  He's heading to the Stanford University Hospital to work for the next three months in their Oncology Department.  He'll have to change his internal clock since he works nights now, and there he will be working days administering chemo to cancer patients.  I have to say, I'm very proud of him.

On Tuesday, he and I went for a nice brunch to spend a little time together before his big trip.  It was so nice having some time with just the two of us.  Naturally, being a stamper, I had to make him a card.  I think he almost expected it by the way he eyeballed it sitting on the table under my phone.  LOL

So, without further adieu, here's the card I made for him.

Yes, I know this stamp is a "get well" stamp (and is retired since it was a sale-a-bration stamp), but since Billy is going to the hospital as an RN, I thought the band-aid would be perfect.  The nice thing about this stamp is, that it was easy to ink just the band-aid and then add a different sentiment under it.  The "congratulations" comes from Henry Says and is a perfect fit.  Henry Says is in the Spring Mini and is available until May 31st.  Don't miss it, it's a great little set!

Inside, I used one of the glassine bags from the holiday mini and stamped the 'just for you' that comes from the Pop-Up Posies Designer Kit from the Spring Mini, which is also still current until May 31st, so don't wait!  Inside I added a little "mad money" for whatever he needed along the way.  Not much mind you as the kid probably earns way more than I do!  lol

Stamps Well With Others Recipe:

Card Stock:  Very Vanilla, Cajun Craze
Ink:  Cajun Craze
Stamps:  Patterned Occasions (retired), Henry Says (w-128090 / c-128093)
Accessory:  2 1/2" Circle Punch

I cut the Cajun Craze at 4" x 2" and then punched with the 2 1/2" circle punch in the middle.  I stamped the band-aid first and then placed the Cajun Craze paper with the help of a ruler to be sure it was nice and straight.  Wish I could say the same about the stamp!  LOL

Thanks for looking in today.

Spring Sampler - Simple Satisfaction

The Spring Sampler set is packed full of so many cute stamps.  I sure hope this carries over to the new Annual Catalog.  I'd sure hate to see it go away so soon.

Here is a quick and easy card I just threw together.

I made the bottom edge by using the Apothecary Accents Framelits and cut a bit off of the Whisper White cardstock.  I'm showing the sample below using Gumball Green so you can see it better against my white background.  Then, take a strip of cardstock (Daffodil Delight used above) that will fill the gap to make the front of the card a full 5 1/2" long again.

Stamps Well With Others Recipe:

Card Stock:  Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry, Rose Red
DSP:  Floral District (126919)
Stamp Set:  Spring Sampler (w-125510 / c-125512)
Ink:  Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry, Rose Red
Accessories:  1" Circle Punch (119868), 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch (127811), Apothecary Accents Framelits (127003), Primrose Petals 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon (126844)

Thanks for looking in today.  Have a wonderful Sunday!

Spoiler Alert - My Paper Pumpkin - Seriously!

If you don't want to see this month's kit... don't go any further!

Spoiler alert to those who prefer to wait for their package to arrive!

Just can't hold back any longer!  Here's the My Paper Pumpkin kit for April 2013.  Seriously.

A cute kit that can be a great "guy card".

The kit comes with 4 pre-scored card bases, 4 - pre-cut mats, 4 adhesive back layers in 3 different sizes and shapes.  4 pre-cut pieces of twine and 4 heavy duty buttons.  There are three stamps in the set "Seriously", "you kick booty" and "love your guts".  Not sure how I'll use that one.  LOL and one of my favorite color ink spots Cherry Cobbler.

Here's the card (as designed) by Stampin' Up!  It took me maybe 10 minutes to complete.  Tying the twine took the longest!  Only because I was all thumbs today for some reason!  Ha!

Now, here's the bad news...

If you didn't sign up before April 10th, you won't be able to get this kit because, once the month is past, it's past.  When you sign up, the very first kit you receive is the Starter Kit, no matter when you join.  The next months' kit will be whatever the kit is for that month.

So, be sure you don't miss out on the kit for May, sign up right away so you won't miss it.  You'll want to be signed up by May 10th in order to be ready for the My Paper Pumpkin adventures.  Once you are signed up, you'll never have to worry about your kit again, it will automatically mail out around the 15th of the month and should arrive within a couple of days from there.  You can always pause your subscription, but again, you have to let My Paper Pumpkin know before the 10th.  IF you want, you can always cancel, but when you sign up again, you'll start out with the starter kit again.

I'd love to be your Stampin' Up! Consultant if you don't already have one.

If you haven't signed up yet, I'd love it if you would sign up with me as your  Stampin' Up Demonstrator - Donna Kish - Phoenix, AZ

Please let me know if you do so I can send you a big thank you!

Thanks for looking in today!  Happy Saturday!

Tri-Fold Card - Praying for You

I'm part of a prayer / card group where we receive names and addresses of people that are in need of prayer for one reason or another and I found the perfect stamp set that works so perfectly for this purpose.

This card style has been seen on many websites and I honestly don't know where I saw it first, but I believe it was on Frenchie's page.  Here is my version with a couple of different DSP's used.  I like that we can mix it up and make it work with so many colors!

The first sets were stamped with Black StazOn and the lower sets I used Rich Razzleberry to match the papers - I really think the Rich Razzleberry is much prettier.

Here are the measurements so you can make your own.

Card stock - 11" x 4 1/4"
Score on the long side at 2 1/2" and at 6 3/4"
Punch along the 2 1/2" score line with the 2 1/2" circle punch (120906)

Punch card stock with 2 3/8" scallop circle (118874)
Stamp sentiment and punch with 1 3/4" circle (119850)

Large piece of DSP is 4" x 4", smaller piece is 2 1/4" x 4" (line the small piece of DSP up with the 2 1/2" circle that is punched on the card to determine where to punch on the small DSP piece).

Inside card stock is 2 3/4" x 4" for inside sentiment or 4" x 4" if you choose to place it on the larger panel.

Stamp set:  Blessings from Heaven (w-123050 / c-123052)
Card stock: Lucky Limeade, Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight
DSP: Sunshine and Sprinkles - Spring Mini (126922)
Buttons:  Sale-a-Bration / Designer Subtles Collection

Stamp set:  Blessings from Heaven (w-123050 / c-123052)
Card stock:  Pool Party, Rich Razzleberry
DSP: Sycamore Street (from Sale-a-Bration)
Button:  also from Sale-a-Bration

Thank you for looking in today.  May you have a wonderful Friday and an awesome weekend!

Please remember to keep America in your prayers.  After the past week we've had from the Boston Marathon to the Texas Fertilizer Plant explosion, it's been one heart-wrenching week and we need to remember all those involved and lift them up in prayer.

God Bless
