Countdown to Wedding Day

If you've been following my blog lately, you'll know I've been working on wedding fun for a young lady at our office who is getting married.  This weekend is the big day and today we're having a little shower for her at the office.

Brittney, if you are looking at this before 2 p.m. (Arizona time... stop reading!)  Don't want to spoil the surprise I have for you.  :)

It should be safe to show the cards first.  I made one for myself to give her and one for someone else to give.

This one is mine.  The gift I have for Brittney, truly is "Just For Her" a perfect Bride's gift, I think (see below, below - not you Brit... lol).

This card is for someone else that needed a card for the shower.  It really addresses just the Bride too, I see, now that I look at it.  That's okay though, even though her fiance also works for our department in another division and will be there too.  Poor guy, I hope we have some of the other guys show up to eat cake and have punch!

Since the Bride and Groom already have a home together, they don't need any household items and are just saving up for their honeymoon.  However, I wanted to give her something to have to open at the shower.  What fun is a shower without presents, right?

So, I was trying to come up with something that would be a good gift for the Bride and thought about a little care package she could have with her on the big day for those last minute emergencies.  Then last weekend when I went to the grocery store, I was able to find so many great sample size products that were exactly what I had in mind.

After looking online, I found out a LOT of people had this idea too.  Thankfully someone had a great download of the banner which I used and then added my own items to the list for her jar.

I found the jar at the grocery store Monday and filled it with little sample sizes of everything you see inside.  I actually found a few more things I need to add to it, but I can take them to her when we go out on Friday.  I was invited to join the girls for a manicure!  I've never had one before, so I'm really excited about it!

Isn't this a great idea?  Google Wedding Day Emergency Kit.  You'll be surprised how many ideas are out there!

Thank you for looking in today.

Indian Corn in a Basket

Thank goodness for all the talented Stampin' Up! ladies that I can learn from.  I just couldn't resist this one when I saw it on Connie Babbert's Inkspired Treasures.  I think you will love it as well!  Thank you Connie!

I decorated the leftover leaves from the Witching Decor Kit.

Sponge the cut ends and curl them with your bone folder.

Place them inside the Berry Basket made with the BigZ Die

Isn't this adorable!?  Think of it sitting on  your Thanksgiving table or perhaps just the "corns" on as a place setting at each plate.

Have fun with it!

Holiday Kiss Tents

I first saw cute little Pumpkin Tents on Qbee's Quest and fell in love with them.  Then I thought about all of the snowmen and penguins with their accessories I had from last week and I think I went a little bit wild.  It was so much fun!

First, let me show you how to make the little tents for the kiss to slide in to.

Begin with a piece of card stock at least 4 inches wide.  The length doesn't matter because you are going to cut it up into 3/4".  I started with a piece of 8 1/2" x 11" and just cut 4" off one end.

Keep the paper in your cutter still facing the same direction as you made your cut and score at 3", 2" and then 1".  I prefer to use my scoring tool on my cutter track instead of pulling out my scoring board.

Turn your paper and cut 3/4" wide strips.  You'll have several from this one section of paper and won't have to score each 4" x 3/4" strip individually.

Fold on the score lines:

Apply Multipurpose Liquid Glue and fold into a triangle.

Place a Hershey Kiss inside the triangle and you're ready to decorate.   You will need to "smoosh" the top of the kiss down a bit to fit, but it is a nice tight fit and the kiss won't fall out.

I started with more Halloween bits - love the Witches' Hat in Blackberry Bliss.

Then a Penguin dressed up as a ghost.  See the rest of his friends HERE.

Then the Christmas party got started!  I just LOVE playing with these guys.  Stamp and cut out multiple colors of accessories and have a grand time playing "paper dolls" (aka, snowmen and penguins) with them all!

I hope you'll give these fun treats a try.  They will look great on co-workers' desks or just to decorate your own desk for sharing when someone comes to you.

Thank you for looking in today!

Time to Chill

Do you remember playing with paper dolls and how much fun it was to dress them up with different outfits and accessories?  I sure do and these little guys remind me of playing with those paper dolls and all of their accouterments. Don't you think they are adorable?

I've been stamping and die cutting penguins and accessories and tomorrow I plan to dress them up and put them on everything!  Ok, well, maybe not everything, but they will certainly be on so many cards!

The inside and outside sentiments are so perfect together. Add a few snowflakes on the inside and you can "Let It Snow!"

I stamped the penguins directly onto the Whisper White and then added the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing.

The scarf, earmuffs, tie, hat and cane are all popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  The best thing about those little add-on's is they have Framelits Dies to go with them!  The Bundle saves you 15% when you buy Snow Place and Snow Friends together (140844)

Since the temperatures are still in the triple digits here, I thought snow on my cards would be a great idea!!

For the New Two

This Designer Series Paper is just so versatile.  Even though it has no color to start with, it can be easily sponged, like I did here, or simply left as is and it is beautiful either way.

For today's card I used Calypso Coral for sponging and for the mat behind the sentiment and on the card itself.  The base of the card is Very Vanilla.

It is hard to see the Gold Metallic Thread in the picture, but it looks good in person.  You do have to used quite a bit of it on a card though since it is so very thin.

I popped up the sentiment with Stampin' Dimensionals and added some Rhinestone Jewels for a little bling.

Thank you for looking in today.  The weekend is almost here!

Halloween Penguins

I spotted this idea on, of all places, Pinterest, by Sheila Terlep.  Isn't that where we find so much inspiration.  As soon as I saw these adorable penguins dressed up for Halloween, I knew I had to give them a go!  I think it was the one with the purple hat and bow tie that caught my eye first.  I immediately thought of the old Batman cartoons and show with the Penguin.

Aren't they just the cutest little trick or treaters?  The red mask was made by die cutting the necktie that comes in the Snow Place / Snow Friends Bundle.  I then cut off the one side of the tie and attached it with adhesive so that it looks like it is tied around his head.

The "ghost" is made by simply cutting out the penguin without stamping first, then trim around the bottom so you can see his feet.  CUTE!

I made their trick or treat bags by just cutting a small rectangle of Sahara Sand and stamped them with the moon from Jingle All the Way.

Thank you for looking in today!  Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Are you still thinking about becoming a Paper Pumpkin Subscriber?  Now is the time to think about it with our next kit benefitting Stamp Out Breast Cancer!

To show our support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we're going PINK . . . or at least our October boxes are! And because we know our subscribers want to share the love too, we will be making a donation on their behalf to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).
Stampin' Up! will donate
  • $1 for every active Paper Pumpkin subscriber.
  • Plus, an additional $1 for every new subscriber.

AND NOW...

It is time for the September My Paper Pumpkin Kit.  This one is called Wickedly Sweet Treat, but I see it as cute little haystacks with so much fun inside!

These are so fast and easy to put together and there are so many options of what to put inside.

The stamps that come with this set can be used for Halloween, Thanksgiving, or just a sweet treat.  Mine have a secret prize inside for future customers!

The kit includes everything you need to make eight bags.  Aren't those cute straws adorable?  They look like tree trunks to me, but I suppose they could be whatever you want them to be!

I decided I like the stamps so much, I wanted to make some cards to go with the kits.  Here is what I came up with for now.  I have some other ideas in my mind, but it's time for this gal to think about bed as I write this the night before posting.

Thank you for looking in today!  I hope you'll think about signing up to receive your own monthly kits and if you do, you can even purchase past kits... like this one!
