Detailed Floral Thinlits Treat Holder

Today I have a quick and beautiful treat holder.  This was spotted on Gosia MacKinnon You Tube channel and I fell instantly in love with it!

I used Lindor Truffles, but I think something smarter would be something that comes in a little cupcake type holder like the Ferrero Rocher chocolates.  Yum!  I used a little glue dot to hold them in place.

This first one was made with Sweet Sugarplum cardstock and 3/8" Ruched Ribbon.

This one was made with Very Vanilla.  I highly recommend you run this through at least three times through the Big Shot since it is a thinner cardstock and it needed a little more pressure for cutting.

Recipe and Instructions:

Begin with a piece of cardstock 8" x 4 1/4", score at 3 1/4" and 4 3/4" along the long edge.
Be sure to crease the score lines before cutting.  It will make a big difference... ask me how I know!

Place the large thinlit just above the score line and centered between the two sides.

Add the edge piece across the top of the thinlit.  This will give you a nice edge.

This is how it will look and this is when I would remove the edge die before you run the main piece through a 2nd and 3rd time.

Nice clean cut!

Turn the paper around and do the same on the other side.

Fold them up, place your inside treat and tie it up with a pretty ribbon and sentiment!

Thank you for looking in today.  May you have a blessed Sunday.  Remember to say some extra prayers today for law enforcement around the world.  ~ Donna

  1. Oh what a treat! I almost missed these. So fun and so different using that die. Great job. I think the vanilla with the blue wrapped truffles is my favorite holder. Anything with those darn truffles or Ghiradelli chocolate gets my full attention. Great instructions. Too bad it is too hot to mail right now! Great and yummy looking job!

    1. These definitely wouldn't mail! I bought them at a store less than a half mile from the house and I had to put them in the fridge when I got them home! So stinkin' hot!

I think we'll make these at my workshop on Saturday, but with something that holds up a bit better in the heat. Or we can freeze them before the girls take them home! :)
