Stacks of Flowering Fields

With Flowering Fields - a free selection from Sale-a-bration - your options are really unlimited in making some simple yet perfect cards.

I cased the measurements and idea from LeeAnn Greff.  Thank you LeeAnn for your great ideas!

Recipe:

Whisper White Thick Cardstock - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Whisper White Cardstock for stamping - 4 1/2" x 3 1/4"
Basic Black - 4 5/8" x 3 3/8"
Basic black Strip - 4" x 1/4"
Subtles Color Collections Designer Series Paper - 3 1/4" x 1"

To make the banner on the black strip - simply slip one end into the Banner Punch just a little and punch.

I stamped the flowers with Memento Black Ink and then gently colored them in with our Stampin' Write Markers.  I used Blushing Bride, Marina Mist, Wisteria Wonder and Soft Sky.

I also added some Wink of Stella Clear on the flowers.

World on a String

So today is my baby's birthday so I thought I'd post a card that would appeal to him... not as a birthday card, but because he loves animals so much and I wanted to play with the Balloon Builders again.  Not that he'll see this as I doubt he looks at my blog.  LOL

This was a quick an easy card to make - my favorite kind.

Recipe:
Base Very Vanilla - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Soft Suede - 5 1/4" x 4"
Very Vanilla - 5" x 3 3/4"

I popped up the Soft Suede layer with Stampin' Dimensionals to give it a little lift.

Thank you for looking in today.  Only two more days to the weekend when I get to go out for lunch with my Birthday Boy!

Happy Thursday and Happy Birthday Robert!  ~

My Baby Is Turning 30!

Tomorrow my baby will be 30 years old.  Yes, he's still my baby and always will be as the youngest child.

I'm really happy how this turned out.  We all know how difficult masculine cards can be, but this was so easy and I think he will like it.

I decided to make two others while I was at it left the "age" space open for the next one I need.

Recipe:
Base - Night of Navy - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
English Garden DSP 5 1/4" x 3"
Corrugated Paper (138317) yes, this is Stampin' Up! page 148 in the Annual Catalog
  3 1/2" x 2"
Expressions Natural Elements (138395)
Stamps:  Number of Years (140653) bundled with Large Numbers Framelits Dies (140811)

I hand trimmed the "Look Who's Turning" sentiment, but you could easily do it with the Circles Framelits.  See my previous post HERE for full details.

Thank you for looking in today!  Have a great Wednesday ~ Donna

Celebrate with Cake - Workshop Version

You are probably tired of seeing this card... but look closer, it's different!  This one is the creation of one of my stampers, Brittney with her twist on the card.

The outside may not look too different, but wait until you see the inside!

Ta Da!  Isn't this fabulous?  I love that she's added the balloons to the pop up!

I just love it when my customers add their creativity to my originals.  Great Job Brittney!

Thank you for looking in today.  Be sure to look back here for the original details and measurements.

Happy Sunday - Donna

Celebrate With Cake

This will be the second project for today's workshop.  I just can't get enough of this "It's My Party" Designer Series Paper.  I've been using so much of it, I'm going to need another pack!

Recipe:  Front
Melon Mambo - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Daffodil Delight (although Crushed Curry is the coordinating color - but I didn't have enough for everyone) 5 1/4" x 4"
DSP - different from the inside DSP - 5" x 3 3/4"
Mat - Daffodil Delight - 3 3/4" x 3 1/4"
Whisper White - 3 1/2" x 3"

I also love the Party Pop-Up Thinlits Dies - they are so much fun!  I know I've made one before with this inside for Brittney's Birthday, but to get my paper to go farther for today's workshop, I made the insert 6" x 4 inches which gives me 6 insides out of each 12 x 12 sheet.  With extra Melon Mambo around the edge, I was able to add the confetti curli's to add a little more.

Recipe:

Melon Mambo - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Designer Series Paper - It's My Party - 6" x 4", scored at 3" - but DON'T fold it just yet!
Place the DSP on your Big Shot with the Magnetic Plate with the little arrows from "Hip Hop Hooray" pointed at the score line.
Run it through the Big Shot and cut out the pop-up.  Save the pieces to decorate your card inside.

Fold the insert as shown and then lay flat again.  Add adhesive to the back of the DSP - I highly recommend the "Green Glue" aka the Tombo Multipurpose Glue - this will allow you some slide space.

The last time I used this stamp, I stamped it with Memento Black and colored in the Melon Mambo with Stampin' Write Markers.  I have to say, I think this looks so much nicer!  Stamped with Melon Mambo and the Celebrate is colored in instead, as it is a solid stamp.

I then added the next sentiment with Mint Macaron.

Thank you for looking in today!  I wish  you a fabulous Saturday - do some stamping and have a blast!  ~ Donna

Just a Little Something With the Curvy Corner Trio Punch

This is one of the cards we'll be making at Mary's workshop this weekend.  I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

Mary and I spotted the banner on Connie Stewart's blog and wanted to give it a try for Saturday.  It uses the Curvy Corner Trio Punch (139683) with a little trick on making it look so awesome!  Thank you Connie for your great inspiration!  I've done a pictorial tutorial below, but feel free to check out Connie's videos.

Recipe:
Bermuda Bay - 11" x 4 1/4", scored and folded at 5 1/2"
Smoky Slate - 5 1/4" x 4"
Designer Series Paper (Have a Cuppa - 140567) - 5" x 3 3/4"
Bermuda Bay 1/8" Stitched Ribbon (about 16 inches.

Inside is the leftover paper from cutting the DSP for the outside:

Smoky Slate - 5 1/4" x 2 1/2"
DSP - 5" x 2 1/4"

Inside panel - Whisper White - 5 1/4" x 4" - punch the corners with the Curvy Corner Trio Punch

To make the pocket on the inside, staple the Smoky Slate around the edges.  Don't worry, you will cover them with DSP and on the front of the card they will be covered as well.  Yes, you could use Tear and Tape or Tombo Liquid Glue, but these staples work well and they are easy to hide!

To make the cute banner on the front, take a 1" side strip of Whisper White.  The length will be whatever size you need to use your choice of sentiment.

Carefully slide the strip into the punch as shown below.  Be sure it is all the way in and flush all the way to the right side.  Punch.

It will look like this:

Move the strip over to the other side, again being sure to have it all the way in and all the way to the left this time.

The mat for your banner will be a 1 3/4" strip and two 1 3/4" Circle punches.

Line the circle punch up on one end and then place your Whisper White over the top.

Trim off the excess mat.  In this picture below, I cut it where you can see the 7 1/2" mark (that's just where it happens to sit on the cutting mat).  Then attach your other circle behind the 1 3/4" strip.  I believe Connie put hers on the top, but this seemed a little less visible to me.

Thank you for looking in today.  If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me!

Happy Friday!
