Succulent Stems

Raise your hand if you said "I don't think I'll ever buy that paper, I just don't care for it."  My hand is raised too!

When I first saw the Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP) I really didn't care for it.  However, the more I saw it and when I saw the other papers in the stack, I decided I just had to have it.  So, here's the first of me using it and I'll say... loving it.

Recipe:

Stamps - Special Reason and Greatest Greetings

Sweet Sugarplum - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Succulent Garden DSP - 5 1/4" x 4"
Sweet Sugarplum - 4 1/4" x 3 1/4"
Whisper White - 4" x 3"
Old Olive scraps - (for leaves)
1/2 of a Delicate White Doily

Whisper White - 5 1/4" x 4" for inside

This is a great card to simply keep generic until you need it for something specific.  Nothing stamped on the outside and blank inside that can turn into anything you want or need.

In cutting the DSP into 5 1/4" x 4" sections, there was a strip that I cut in half long ways and then cut into 4" pieces to decorate the inside to match the outside.  No need to keep scraps around that just get lost or have no place to be.  Now they have a perfect place to brighten up someone's day.

Thank you for looking in today.  I'd love to hear from you.  Won't you leave a comment below?

Happy Friday!

  1. Just like a plant, it is growing on me too not that I have plants sprouting on me! I love how you put the strip in the inside it looks so pretty and stylish. I do that sometimes too. Look at that cute doily too! I have seen several people make the succulents which I can hen and chickens as free standing in pots and they seem to look pretty realistic. Have you made any? sponging the ends really helps. I figured that would be something I couldn't kill off but maybe if I make some I should make a brown sickly one. The rest of the paper pack is growing on me too. I really like your cards.

    1. LOL on making a brown sickly one! That's funny! I haven't made any because honestly all I purchased was the paper. I really like the pink gingham that is on the back of two of the sheets. It reminds me of the aprons we made in Home Ec. in 7th or 8th grade.
