Winning Swap for August 2017

Each month our team has a card swap where we use only current Stampin' Up! products.  All of our cards are put up on a display board and everyone votes for their favorite.

Jennie's card won this month, 2nd month in a row mind you.  I'm going to have to step up my swaps!

I asked Jennie though about the beautiful glimmer paper in the middle, I simply couldn't find it in our current catalogs, but I remember us having it.  Well, Jennie had some leftover for some of her cards and then made her own for the rest.  Smarty Pants!  LOL

She took some Dazzling Diamonds cardstock, Pumpkin Pie Ink pad and a sponge dauber and simply turned the Dazzling Diamonds into Pumpkin Pie.  Think about that a minute... you could make ANY COLOR glimmer paper you want with our ink pads and re-inkers.

Products Used:
Early Espresso Card Stock
Pumpkin Pie Card Stock
Wood Textures Designer Series Paper
Daffodil Delight (I'm guessing here) Card Stock
Cajun Craze (again guessing for the leaf on the left)
Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Card Stock
Gold Foil Card Stock
Daisy Punch
Wood Crate Framelits

Congratulations to Jennie - such a beautiful fall card!

Thank you for looking in today.  It's Friday Eve and the weekend is almost here!

One More Embossing Card

For our team meeting on Monday night, my upline had asked me to do a 3-minute demo on using the Embossing Paste.  Now you know why I've been posting so many of these lately!
This is the last one I did for my display board.

Hello There, Honey Bear - Swap Night

Monday night was our Team Meeting and that means time to swap cards with the others on the team.  I'll be sharing others as time goes on, but for today, here is the one I did.  I love it!

Too bad you can't see the glimmer better on this beehive.  I added the clear Wink of Stella to the darker yellow side of the beehive.  It looks so much better in person, even looks good on a cell phone picture.

Recipe:
Very Vanilla - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Wood Textures Designer Series Paper - 5 1/2" x 2"
Early Espresso - die cut with Layering Circles Scallop
Very Vanilla - die cut with Layering Circles
Watercolor Paper - for Beehive and Bear, as well as the bee ON the bear.

Stamps: A Little Wild and Colorful Seasons (branch)
Ink:  Archival Black and Soft Suede and Crushed Curry.

Thank you for looking in today.  Happy Tuesday!!

Muddy Piggies

So I'm working on a display board and I really wanted my previous Happy as a Pig in Mud to be on the display, but I can't find it anywhere!  It's probably on my desk at the office!  SO, I made a new one with just a couple of changes.

I made the piggies a little mud pen this time and I chose the sentiment "You make me smile."  I think that works because whenever two friends are gathered together, even if it is a little messy and muddy, they still make each other smile!

My Recipe:
Pink Pirouette - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
Early Espresso - 5" x 3 3/4"
Coffee Break Designer Series Paper 4 7/8" x 3 5/8"
Wood Textures Designer Series Stack

Stamps:
This Little Piggy and Colorful Seasons

Thank you for looking in today.  Here comes another Monday!

Coffee Time!

First of all, the card on the right, as you look at it... is crooked on purpose!  LOL - After yesterday's blog post, I figured I should mention that!

I wanted to share more cards made using the Embossing Paste.  It was so easy to turn it into this lovely Garden Green.  Just a couple of drops of Garden Green Re-inker into maybe a teaspoon worth of paste.  Simply mix it well with the Palette Knife of your choice then spread it over the brick template.

Recipe:

Garden Green - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Crumb Cake - 5 1/4" x 4"
Whisper White for stamping cups and parts
Scraps of Coffee Break Designer Series Paper

Look how beautiful and fun this paste is!  Have you tried it yet?  Why not give it a try!

Thank you for looking in today!  May you have a Blessed Sunday.

Sneaky Foil Paper

Here's a little tip.  Foil cardstock and Liquid Glue do not play well together.  Now, most of you know, I use our Mono Multipurpose Glue for just about everything, so of course I would do it with card as well.  I attached the top layer with the butterfly and Embossing Paste to the foil layer with our "green glue" aka Mono Multipurpose Glue.  For new stampers, no, the glue is not green, but the bottle is green and white and it's so much easier to just say "green glue".

Before you say, well, you should have laid it flat to dry so it wouldn't slide like that.  Guess what, I did!  Then I left it alone and worked on my emails for a bit.  When I turned around again to take pictures for posting, I found this:

Arrrghhh!  So, I tried again.  Mind you, I had planned on making two card, so the measurements are all the same, I cut two of each ahead of time.

THIS is what it was supposed to look like.  So, for this card, I attached the top layer to the foil later with Tear and Tape and it didn't budge!

The background is made with our new Embossing Paste and a couple of drops of Pool Party re-inker.  I simply mixed it together on my Silicon Sheet and gently spread it onto the Whisper White and set it aside to dry.  Being thicker than it would be with a stencil, I gave it plenty of time to dry.  You could help it along with your Heat Gun, but not really necessary.  ** The cardstock WILL curl a bit, but don't worry, it will flatten back out.

Recipe:
Whisper White Thick cardstock - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Foil cardstock 5 1/4" x 4"
Whisper White - 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"
Whisper White scraps for sentiment

Remember, use your "hidden" foil to cut out your butterfly - or anything else you can fit in there for another day.  No point wasting all that pretty paper!

Thank you for looking in today.  I hope you learned something new!

Playing with Paste

Have you had a chance to play with the new Embossing Paste yet?  If not, you should definitely check it out!  It was on backorder but is now available so be sure to check it out!

I spotted this card by Dawn Griffith and thought I would give it a try, but with a couple of changes.  I decided to color the Embossing Paste to match the color of the cardstock.  I believe her card kept it white, which is also pretty!

Recipe:

Whisper White Thick Cardstock - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Blushing Bride - 5 1/4" x 4"
Whisper White - 3 1/2" x 3"
Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper - 3 1/4" x 2 3/4"

Stamps:  Label Me Pretty
Punches:  Pretty Label Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch
Ribbon:  Powder Pink 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon

I just love this DSP, I'm definitely going to need more!

Thank you for looking in today!  Thank goodness it's Friday!
