Box Card for Gift Box Card

I've seen several of these out and about on Pinterest and just had to try it.  Really very simple once you do just one and can see it come together.  I found a video from Dawn Griffith.  It shows the steps very easily (until I get brave enough to do my own video!)  See the link at the bottom.

Recipe:
Blueberry Bushel - 8 1/2" x 10"
Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper - 5 1/4" x 1 3/4" (cut 2 - for panels)
and 2 3/4" x 1" (for insert)
Whisper White - 5 1/4" x 2 3/4" (insert)

Tools - Simply Scored and Simply Scored Diagonal Plate (ack - just discovered this retired!?)  Okay, so you can make those diagonal lines using your Stampin' Trimmer (using the SCORE blade) by placing the center, which would be the 5" mark on the instructions and scoring to the first score line.

Using your Simply Scored:

Place the 10" side at the top and score at 2", 3 1/2", 6 1/2" and 8".
With the 8 1/2" side at the top, score at 1 1/2" and 7".

See picture below and snip out all four corners and then cut a bit further to the next score line as shown in the picture.

Now use your Simply Scored Diagonal Plate and place the 10" side at the top.  Start at the 5" mark and score down to the first score line.  Turn so the other 10" side is at the top and at the 5" mark again, score down to the score line.  Your diagonal will be going from upper left (at the 5) to lower right (at the first score line running across the page)

Now FLIP your paper over with the 10" side still at the top and go from the 5" mark to the first score line again.  Turn your paper to the other 10" side, score from the 5" mark to the first score line.

I added a belly band to my card so it would stay closed properly.

The band is 8 1/2" x 1" - scored at 2 1/4" from each end.  You may have to adjust depending on how thick your card is.  Simply wrap it around your card and then give it just a little wiggle before attaching the ends together.  I stamped "just for you" from A Good Day and punched it out with the 1 3/8" scallop punch.  Inside I stamped "a little treat for someone sweet".  The gift could be a gift card for and ice cream shop or cash to spend however they wish.

Thank you for looking in today.  If you need a video to see how to score and fold, check out Dawn Griffith's video here.

Happy Tuesday!
