SIGH... This is Knot Good

This poor giraffe is having a really bad day, but I just love giraffe's so I wanted all the attention on him.  The best way to do that is with a nice and simple card.

Recipe:
Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4
Soft Suede - 4" x 5 1/4"
Very Vanilla - 3 3/4" x 5

Stamps - Back on Your Feet
Ink - Soft Suede
Stampin' Blends - Soft Suede Light, Old Olive Light

I made two cards, with two different inside sentiments.  One with "OUCH!"

and one with "This is know good."

I really do like the clean and simple cards.  Sometimes they fit the bill perfectly.

Thank you for looking in today!  Have a Blessed Sunday!

Back on Your Feet - Flip Flap Card

I spotted a Flip Flap Card by Beth Rush (with different stamps and papers) and she had the best video explaining how to make it.  I could do a photo tutorial, but really Beth's video is a must see!

Here's what I came up with.  I think I need some adjustments, but it's pretty cute for a first try!

Thank you for looking in today and thank you to Beth for teaching me something new and FUN!

Happy Hump Day!  Guess this turtle is on the wrong side of his hump!

Healing Grapefruit Grove

Something told me to try the Healing Hugs rose in Grapefruit Grove, probably because I think it is such a beautiful color!  So glad this color will be around another year.

Recipe:
Whisper White Thick - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Grapefruit Grove - 5 1/4" x 4"
Whisper White - embossed with the Subtle embossing folder
Whisper White scrap for stamping the flower and leaves

I fussy cut the flower and the leaves, but stamped the little sprigs directly onto the embossed Whisper White.  It was a piece I had already embossed, when I thought of stamping the little sprigs.  It came out perfect!

Stamps:  Healing Hugs
Inks:  Grapefruit Grove, Wild Wasabi, Soft Suede

Thank you for looking in today!  Happy Friday!!

Dogs Are Neighbors Too

On Sunday, we found out that last weekend the little dog next door decided to chase a cat across the street and although she didn't get hit by a car, she did run head on into the car.  I'm thinking probably a tire.  If we lived on a quiet street, it would be a different story, the car wouldn't have been going so fast and probably would have seen her running out.

She is slowly improving, but apparently was pretty stunned by the whole thing and was having some seizures.  The family was even ready to have her put down a couple of days ago but the Vet told them that there was some improvement and convinced them to hold off.  Thankful for that Vet as she's getting better and even had a couple of snacks.

Her name is Honey and she's just the cutest little thing.  She's a Puggle (mix between a Pug and a Beagle) and she loves to come over to our house and visit Nike, our little dog who is a little Terrier mixed with an unknown number of things!  She also manages to clean up all the outdoor cat food, if they leave any behind!

So, Nike told me he wanted to share some of his treats with her.  He only likes these little Milk Bone's (shown below).  They are only an inch long.  Anything bigger and he tries to bury it the couch or under a towel.

Here's what I made for him to give to her.

Recipe:
Whisper White Oval - cut with Stitched Shapes (largest oval)
All My Love Designer Series Paper - 5" x 2" - cut with Banner Triple Punch

Stamps:  Bella and Friends, Itty Bitty Greetings
Ink:  Memento Black
Stampin' Blends:  Crumb Cake Combo, Soft Suede, Rich Razzleberry, Flirty Flamingo

I cut out two ovals and attached them together, mostly to hide the staples that closes the bag and the bleed through of the markers!

Here are the little Milk Bones.  Aren't they cute?

Say a little prayer for Honey that she makes a full recovery.  They have 4 little kids next door that all love her so much and it would be a devastating blow for all of them, and for us, because she is such a sweetie!

Happy Monday!  Thank you for looking in.

Thinking of You

Do you have a hard time thinking of masculine cards?  Me too!  So today I wanted to make a card for my Uncle who is recovering from surgery and this is what I came up with.

Quick and simple, but I like how it turned out.

Recipe:
Whisper White Thick Cardstock - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Soft Suede - 3 1/2" x 3 1/2"
Whisper White - 3 1/4" x 3 1/4"

Stamps:  Sheltering Tree
Inks:  Soft Suede, Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Cherry Cobbler

If I were to make it again, and I might, I think I would stamp off the Cherry Cobbler before stamping it over the Pumpkin Pie.  It kind of killed the yellow and orange I had going there, but it still looks very pretty.

Thank you for looking in today.  It's back to the office for me after a week off work.  I'm not looking forward to it, so many other things I want to do instead.   Sigh...

Have a great week!

Watts of Get Well

Before you see today's card, I want to share something with you that I've been doing to keep from fighting with the new stamp pad design.  I know the pads are supposed to get easier to slide open with use, but I'm tired of getting extra inky in the meantime.  This works perfectly!  Just open your inkpad (the new style only) and lay down the inkpad side onto your work surface.  It's nice and flat and works perfectly for inking up your stamps.

Then, simply close the ink pad and you're done!  Just be sure it clicks when you close it so it is closed tight.

My Uncle Lou in Maryland has come down with a bug or something that has him feeling really under the weather, so I thought it would be fun to send him a cute get well card.  When looking through my stamps, I came across "Watts of Occasions" and immediately knew this was the one I wanted to use.

Recipe:
Lemon Lime Twist - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Basic Black - 5 1/4" x 4"
Whisper White - 5 1/8" x 3 7/8" (run through embossing folder - Softly Falling)
Basic Black - 4 1/4" x 3 1/4"
Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper - 4 1/8" x 3 1/8"
Basic Black - 3 3/4" x 2 1/4"
Whisper White - 3 5/8" x 2 1/8"

Ink:  Memento Black, Lemon Lime Twist

Don't forget to decorate your envelope!  I added more of the Animal Expedition DSP.

Thank you for looking in today.  Remember - for every $50.00 you spend during August, you earn a $5.00 coupon to use in September!  Don't miss out!
