Penned and Painted for any Occasion

This set is so much fun to use and it doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful.  Penned and Painted is (sadly) one of the sets that will be retiring.  There are others that are similar I suppose, but this one is one of my favorites!

Recipe:

Sweet Sugarplum - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Rich Razzleberry - 5 1/4" x 4"
Whisper White - 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"

I stamped the outline of the flowers with Rich Razzleberry and the leaves with Old Olive.  Then the insides of the flowers with Sweet Sugarplum and highlights with Rich Razzleberry, stamped off once.  Inside the leaves is Wild Wasabi and then Old Olive for the highlights, stamped off once.

In the corner, I decided to put a banner across the corner and did so two different ways.  I saw this online somewhere and can't remember who it was, so if you know who it is, please let me know so I can give credit where credit is due.

The "thank you" card above, I trimmed the banner to just be across the Whisper White.  The "I miss you" card below, I wrapped it around the corner to the back.  I think I like the top one best.  Which one do you like best?

Penned and Painted

Another of my favorite sets is about to retire at the end of the month.  This one is so pretty and can be stamped easily without having to be perfect because it layers so nicely together with a watercolor look.

Today I decided to stamp without the outline and I love how it turned out.

Recipe:

Watermelon Wonder - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Basic Black - 5 1/4" x 4"
Whisper White - 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"

I stamped with Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral using the largest flower.  The Blushing Bride was stamped as is, while I stamped off the Calypso Coral before stamping it.  The detailed stamp that matches the largest flower I used Watermelon Wonder, full strength.

The leaves are stamped with Pear Pizzazz and Wild Wasabi.  The centers and random little flowers are Crushed Curry.

The sentiments come from Birthday Blossoms.

Did you notice the little lady bug?  She's stamped with Memento Black and then colored in with my Real Red Stampin' Write Marker.

Thank you for looking in today.  I hope you're having a great weekend.

Happy Easter Weekend!

Happy Birthday Mary!

Today we celebrate Mary's Birthday!  I wanted to make her something extra pretty full of flowers.  I wish the picture would be as pretty as it is in person.

This was easy to make with the stamps being Photopolymer.  Easy to line up and stamp the layers.  I began with the larger stamp of each flower and then the smaller more solid stamp over the first one.  Lastly use the outline stamp with Memento Black.

Recipe:
Whisper White - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Calypso Coral - 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
Shimmery White - 5 1/4" x 4"

To make the line around the edge of the card, I used a clear ruler so I could draw the line up to, but not over, the leaves and flowers.

Inside I used just the outline stamps but instead of stamping them in black, I stamped them in the pretty colors that matched the front.

On the front I popped up the Calypso Coral with Stampin' Dimensionals and added some Rhinestone bling.

Penned and Painted Pretties

So happy to finally be using this set of flowers and beautiful colors.  Plus, I just love the cute little ladybug.  You'll notice there are two of them... I only planned on one though.

Like I always tell my stampers, "there are no mistakes in stamping, only opportunities for embellishment".  So tonight I embellished!  Do you see the little ladybug that's flying away?  Well, just between us, I managed to stamp the little bug there by dropping the stamp.  Well, now, I couldn't just have a ladybug in the air without wings, so I stamped another one on a piece of scrap and carefully cut out just the body, then cut it in half to be wings.  Ta da!

Now, on to the details:

Base - Whisper White Thick - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Sweet Sugarplum - 5 1/4" x 4"
Whisper White Cardstock - 5" x 3 3/4"

Ink:  Memento Black, Peekaboo Peach, Sweet Sugarplum, Pear Pizzazz, Real Red

In stamping "behind" the flowers to place the stems and leaves, I stamped and fussy cut the large flower on a post-it note and covered up the flower so I could stamp the leaves.
