Happy New Year!!

Can you believe 2011 is almost gone and 2012 will be here?  It seems like it was just 2010 and we were getting ready for 2011.  The time sure flies!

Thank you to all my customers for your support this past year.  It's been a fun year filled with workshops and fun times together doing our Stamp-a-Stacks and I'm looking forward to another year this year, oh and don't forget those Clearance Rack Sales... love those!

With the passing of 2011 also comes the last few days of the Holiday Mini (ending January 3rd) but it also brings the Occasions Mini - available online January 4th!!  (You should already have your copy in the mail if you're on my mailing list.)

Stamp a Stack - January 6, 2012

I'm looking forward to our next Stamp a Stack - our first one for 2012.  This will be a simple but beautiful card that can be used for so many occasions.  The sample shows Tangerine Tango and Whisper White for our colors.  If I can find some other dotted ribbon, I may make more than one color for the Stack.  I thought I had some Rich Razzleberry (retired) but it seems to be hiding from me.

Stamps Used:  Curly Cute (117014 w / 120510 c), Fifth Avenue Floral (113734 wood only available), Fabulous Florets (123025 w / 123027 c)

Happy Stamping!

Christmas Survived!

Well we managed to make all of our Christmas gatherings and have a good time visiting with the family.

I have a couple more Christmas Cards that I want to show you and then... we'll move on to something new.  These just needed to be shared since I think they both came out so wonderfully.

This first one is made by Brittney.  I love how this turned out.  Berta made one very similar.

This one was made by Linda and I really love how it came out.  The funny thing with this card is she made it a 6" x 6" because she wanted sky above the tree and snow below but she didn't have an envelope to go with it.  She asked me to find a way to make an envelope for the card - not knowing of course that the card was for myself.  We finally managed to find an envelope (thank you Kristi!) and the next day when she gave me the card I just had to laugh out loud recognizing the envelope and all!

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas spent with family and friends.  Next year will be here before we know it which means the beginning of a New Year filled with new stamps and products from Stampin' Up!  I can hardly wait to start playing with the Valentine's sets.

Thanks for peeking in!

While Supplies Last - Stocking Builder Punch

Oh NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... I just found out that the Stocking Builder Punch (124095) from the 2011 Holiday Mini will not carry over into the next Idea Book and Catalog and that when the current supply is depleted - there won't be any more.

So, if you don't already have it and have always wanted it, you'll want to order it very quickly!!!

I'm really surprised as this punch is just so versatile and has more uses than I've ever seen possible, at least in my mind.

Happy Tuesday!

Santa Gift Card Holder - Punch Art

For those last minute gift cards, I have the perfect little gift giver - Santa!

I found this adorable idea on Penny Thomas' blog.  She has some wonderful ideas there and I just couldn't help but CASE this one.  I did make a couple of changes in punches used but it looks good to me!

The really cute part about this, besides the adorable Santa that is, is that you make the card holder out of a white envelope.

Recipe:
Paper: White Envelope; Cherry Cobbler - 4 X 2-1/2; Silver Glimmer Paper - 3-3/4 X 2-1/4; Old Olive - 3-1/2 X 2; Cherry Cobbler - 4-1/4 X 2-1/2 (to go inside the flap for you to attach the gift card with a glue dot); Whisper White scrap; Cherry Cobbler scrap; Pink Pirouette scrap; Silver Glimmer scrap; Basic Black scrap
Stamps: Four the Holidays (116921 wood only); Tags Til Christmas (120847 w / 121169 c)
Inks: Old Olive; Cherry Cobbler
Miscellaneous: Glue Dots; Scissors; Large Oval Punch (for his face); Wide Oval Punch (for his hat and rim of hat); Owl Builder Punch (for his eyes and nose and for the hat "puff"); Bird Builder Punch (the wings of the bird for his mustache); Ornament Punch (for his beard); Tombo Multi-Purpose Glue; Stampin' Dimensionals; Big Shot Machine; Snow Burst Embossing Folder; Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder; 1-3/8" Square Punch; 1-1/4" Square Punch; 1" Square Punch; Old Olive Polka Dot Ribbon - 15" long.

Something to remember when you punch out the bird wing for the mustache, turn the paper over so the emboss is the same on both sides of his mustache or you'll have one that's "backwards".

I hope you like this as much as I did.  Thank you to Penny for such great ideas!!

Only one more week until Christmas!!!

Sharing a Wonderful Company

I just have to take a minute to share with you the wonderful company I've just had the pleasure to deal with.

I enjoy making cards for the soldiers as well as for others as gifts and although I love everything that's Stampin' Up! I simply needed to cut some costs somewhere and bulk envelopes seemed to be a great way to do so.  This company is the perfect solution.  Not only is the product good quality, but the cost can't be beat.  A group of us joined together to purchase a box of 1000 A2 envelopes and with shipping only spent $7.00 per 100.

The best thing... they arrived in TWO DAYS with just the basic economy shipping.  I placed the order on Wednesday, December 14th and they arrived today, December 16th.  I'm so excited!

So, here they are, LCI Paper.  They have so many beautiful things so enjoy looking around.

If you decide to try them out, I'm sure you'll be just as pleased as we are.

Thank You LCI Paper - You are awesome!

Making Cards as Gifts

I've really enjoyed some great card making time this weekend and the last two days having some time off for shopping and creating as well.  I still need to make some more and I have a couple of birthdays coming up that I want to make something special for so that will be my next adventure.

Linda, don't let "you know who" see these... haha!

The brown and yellow cards still need sentiments on them or maybe just inside.  I haven't decided yet.  Could just be plain cards to use for notes.

It's always good to have a helper when your crafting, don't you think?  This is Moki.  She's usually very skittish, but she's warming up to being around us more and more.  Then there's somedays where she loves to just hang out with me no matter where I am.  As I type this, she's over on the cable box taking a nap about 2 feet away from me.

Ok, I'm off to create some more cards for my card gift-set and for the birthdays that will be here before I'm ready!

Have a great day!  It's raining in Phoenix and I'm loving every minute of it!

Mini Jingle Bells... hard to thread?

Ok, so I love the little Mini Jingle Bells (124116) but I get so frustrated trying to thread the bakers twine or anything else for that matter through that little mini opening.  So I put on my thinking cap and all of a sudden, I GOT IT!!!

Now, some of you young folk may not know what this is, but it is a "needle threader" found in sewing kits.  I don't know if they still come in them or not, but there was always in ones my Mom had.  Of course, when I was young, I didn't need that silly thing.  Now that my eyes squint... I need that thing!

So off I ran to the sewing maching and there she was, just waiting for me!

The thin little wire goes through the bell opening, then the bakers twine goes through the thin wire.

Gently pull and the twine is now threaded through the bell!  Yah Hoo!

I may just buy some more of those cute little Mini Jingle Bells now that I don't feel like throwing them across the room!  hahaha!

Happy Threading!

Stamp a Stack - December 9th

I've just been having the best time off work the last couple of days getting ready for our Stamp-a-Stack and just enjoying being creative and making some cards here and there and even doing some organizing that was being put off.  Feels good!

So, on Friday, we have one last chance to make some last minute Christmas Cards...

We really hadn't planned on having a Stamp a Stack this month, but the girls were interested so here we go!  This one is quick and simple and has some pretty bling to it too.  Bling is always good at Christmas time.  Brings out the sparkle in everything.

In case you're wondering where did she get those sparkly red rhinestones, well, look no further than your Stampin' Up! rhinestones and a red Sharpie permanent marker.  I just LOVE being able to color these up to go with just about anything.  I wish our Stampin' Write markers would color them, but being water based they just wipe off.  Thankfully, Sharpie has a big variety of colors that work well.

Card Recipe:

Stamp Set:  Bright Hopes - from the Holiday Mini - 122690 (wood) / 122692 (clear)
Card Stock:  Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green and Whisper White
Ink:  Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green
Bling:  Basic Rhinestones 119246

So, there it is... looking forward to a good time with the girls on Friday Night.

Happy Wednesday!

"Cocoa" Cup

Ok, this is just so cute, I couldn't help myself but make it!  I received this from Tami White and her 12 Days of Holiday Helper Projects.

I made a few changes in paper simply because I thought I had Frostwood Lodge, which is what she used, but apparently I've used all of mine... SO, I made it with Letters to Santa.  I love this little pup and plan to make some more.

I do see another change though... no red backgrounds - the hat kind of disappears in there doesn't it!  haha...I also think "Cocoa" needs some ears.

Fill the cup with a Hot Cocoa Packet, a Peppermint Stick and some Hershey kisses.

What do you think of "Cocoa"?  Isn't he just adorable?

Happy Crafting!

Birthday Punch Kitty

Last week was another birthday in the office, this time it was Linda and she's our Cat Lady (between her house and mine we have way toooo many cats, but we love them!).  So I went in search of some cats that I could make from punches and came up with this one from several that I saw out there, so there really isnt any credit to give to any one person.  Isn't she a cutie!?

This card below was made by Linda for our boss Karen - the one received the Angry Birds card that I made last week.  Karen loves our owl creations and this one we particularly loved because she has a string of pearls and Karen wears pearls from time to time, usually as earrings though.

This card idea come from Diana Gibbs (Hi Di!).  I just love the things she creates and shares with us.  An amazing lady!

We call this card "The Barbara Bush Owl Card".  LOL  Must be the pearls!

I hope you enjoy our two cards today and come back real soon.

Every Little Bit - Sweet Deals - Ends Wednesday

I was looking through the Online Extravaganza, one more time, and noticed something I hadn't really noticed before and wanted to make sure you were aware of it as well.  Too good not to point this out!!

Actually more than one thing... a few great deals.

First of all, the Birthday Calendar (101398) - regularly priced at $7.95 on sale for $5.57 (wish that was on sale before I did my calendar class!).  This calendar has no year constraint so it's a perpetual calendar that can be used over and over again so you never miss another birthday.

Then, to go with your calendar, how about Every Little Bit (120558) Clear Mount - regular price $27.95 on sale at 40% off for $16.77.  What a great deal!  I've always wanted that little set but didn't want to pay the price, but now, it's the perfect time.  Going in my shopping cart today for sure!  (Don't forget clear blocks if you don't have some already.)

And what better way to ink up those cute little stamps than to have a variety of Classic Stampin' Spots (119979) from the Getting Started Collection - regular price $21.95 on sale at 40% off at $13.17.  I love having the Stampin' Spots for these projects, easy to use and takes up less space on your work area.
So... what do you think of these great deals?  Oh wait... there's one more!

Valentine's Day will be here before you know it and it will be time to make those sweet cards with lots of love and frilly hearts.  How about 40% off a Love Bundle (129033) (Clear Mount) originally priced at $27.45 on sale for $16.47.  This includes I {Heart} Hearts (clear mount) and I {Love} Love Jumbo Stampin' Around Wheel (tool not included).

Come to Bethlehem

Today was a very productive card making day and I enjoyed every moment!  Besides making the "Angry Birds" Birthday Card, I also managed to start my Christmas Ornaments for our Team Swap in December and I finished 8 "Come to Bethlehem" Christmas Cards.

This was very simple to make yet elegant at the same time.

Cardstock:  Night of Navy and Very Vanilla

Ink:  VersaMark 102283

Cool Tools:  Gold Embossing Powder 109129
Heat Tool 100005
Framed Tulips Embossing Folder 121809
Basic Rhinestones 119246

Stamp image on 4 1/4 x 3 1/8 Night of Navy, sprinkle gold embossing powder on and heat thoroughly with the Heat Tool.  Very Vanilla 5 3/16 x 3 7/8.  You may want to make it slightly bigger and then trim around the emboss to desired size.  Card base is 4 1/4 x 8 1/2.

Happy Creating!

Angry Birds Birthday Card

So, I received this email with a totally CUTE Angry Birds Card and we just knew I had to make one for our boss for her birthday.  She recently played a little of the Angry Birds game on a friends phone and really got a kick out of it.

The idea comes from Tami White's video HERE.  I changed it up a bit and used paper instead of the rubber band.  The rubber band is really cuter, but I know how those things disintegrate and wanted it to last forever with the paper.

Everything used is Stampin' Up! with the exception of the scallop punch for the grass.  It's one of the punches I don't have yet, so I used what I had.  Guess that will be added to a shopping list sometime.

Recipe:

Paper:  Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Riding Hood Red, More Mustard, Cajun Craze, Garden Green, Whisper White and Basic Black.

Ink:  Marina Mist (for making the sky / clouds), StazOn Black for wood grain, Chocolate Chip for sentiment.

Cool Tools:  Owl Punch (eyes) 118074, Cupcake (eyes and "feathers") 121807, 1 3/8" circle 119860, 1 1/4" circle 119861, 2 3/8" scallop circle 118874, word window 119857, scallop edge 119882, crimper 101618

Stamps:  Woodgrain background 117100, Petite Pairs (w-122495 c-122497).

Everything you see here can be purchased from me on my website HERE.  Don't forget our Online Extravaganza is going on now until November 30th, so don't miss out on some of the special bargains.  Only a few days left to grab a great deal!

What do you think of this adorable card?  I'm an Angry Birds fanatic, so to me it's Stinkin' Cute!!!

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving filled with family and friends.

Holiday Mail for Heroes

Holiday Mail for Heroes Program Overview

The holiday season is just around the corner and it’s time again to start thinking about being part of the 2011 American Red Cross Holiday Mail for Heroes. For a fifth year, American Red Cross and Pitney Bowes are partnering to ensure all Americans have an opportunity to send a touch of home this holiday season to members of our U.S. military, veterans and their families, many of whom will be far away from home this holiday season.

Starting this fall and throughout the holiday season, the Red Cross is working with Pitney Bowes, a mail stream technology company, to collect and distribute holiday cards to American service members, veterans and their families in the United States and around the world.

The process is very simple and takes no time at all - All you need is a pen and piece of paper to share your appreciation for the sacrifices members of the U.S. Armed Forces make to protect our freedoms The Holiday Mail for Heroes mail box is open and ready to receive for your cards. Please send all mail to:

Holiday Mail For Heroes
P.O. Box 5456
Capitol Heights, MD 20791-5456

Sending a “touch of home” to American men and women who serve our country is the perfect way to express your appreciation and support during the holiday season.

Card Guidelines:
Every card received will be screened for hazardous materials by Pitney Bowes and then reviewed by Red Cross volunteers working around the country.
Please observe the following guidelines to ensure a quick reviewing process:
  • All cards being sent in for 2011 Holiday Mail For Heroes program should be postmarked no later than Friday, December 9, 2011.
  • Ensure that all cards are signed.
  • Use generic salutations such as “Dear Service Member.” Cards addressed to specific individuals can not be delivered through this program.
  • Only cards are being accepted. Do not send letters.
  • Do not include email or home addresses on the cards, as the program is not meant to foster pen pal relationships.
  • Do not include inserts of any kind, including photos, as these items will be removed during the reviewing process.
  • We encourage participants to mail as many cards as they are comfortable sending. If you are mailing a large quantity, please bundle the cards and place them in large mailing envelopes or use a flat rate box from the post office. Each card does not need its own envelope, as cards will be removed from all envelopes before distribution.
  • Please refrain from sending holiday cards with glitter. Many of these cards will be delivered to military and veterans medical facilities and the glitter could interfere with a patient's recovery.

If each of us sent at least one card, think how many would be sent.  Even one card can make a world of difference.

I hope you'll take a minute or two to send out at least one card for this program.  It will make you feel good inside and will make the recipient feel even better!

Calendar Class

I held my Calendar Class on Friday - 11-11-11 at 11 a.m. (of course!)  Linda and I originally took this class from Diana Gibbs (thank you Di!) and loved it so much that I just had to offer it to my girls.  I made a few changes to the original one we made with Diana since I didn't have the same stamps for certain months, but I think they all came out really great!  Thanks to Linda I was able to borrow a couple of sets from her (thank you Linda!). as well as some inks for duplicate colors and clear blocks so we didn't have to remove the stamps to put on others.

Here's the girls making their calendars.

Stephanie, Mary and Linda

Mary (what a nice smile!) and Linda.  You'll notice, Linda's making TWO calendars and she bought my extra one to make a 3rd at home.  I bet her family is getting calendar's for Christmas!

Tonia, Barbie and Brittney

Brittney, Barbie and Tonia's hands... lol

Tonia is actually working on a different project. She's decided to make Christmas Bingo cards, complete with magnetic Bingo Bits for her family, friends and for her two kids' classes.  A total of 88... Yikes!

Here are some of the calendar pages that I did different from the ones we made at Diana's class.  The only cover difference is colors used.

For June, I just loved the idea of using Under the Stars (111556).  Too cute with the bear and skeeters flying through.
For August, I loved Up, Up and Away (w - 122755 / c - 122757).  Thanks to Brittney (thanks Brit!) for letting me borrow this one.  She brought it over on a whim and I loved how it came out!
December... Penguins and a Snowman are crucial!  So here we have Polar Party (w - 122675 / c-122677) and Snow Much Fun (w- 122560 / c- 122562).  I also added some snowflakes to this one after the picture was taken.

I hope you did something fun and special for 11/11/11 - I know we sure had a great time making these calendars.  Thanks for peeking in.

Beautiful Season

So sorry I've been MIA this week.  On Sunday as I was preparing for my Birthday Calendar Class I managed to trip over something and did a faceplant into a very solid wood desk.  Thankfully, I think my glasses saved my eye from any long term damage.  I do look like I've been in a bad fight however.  Why is it that bruises look worse as they should be getting better?  My eye was swollen shut for a full two days and then slowly started to peek through on Tuesday night.

Now that I can see again, I did some creating yesterday evening and this morning and I wanted to share as soon as I could.

If you haven't looked closely at the Flirtatious Specialty Designer Series Paper, you might want to.  Two of the sheets inside are beautiful laser cut doily designs.  You'll notice they are Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo, but on the back, they are Whisper White and when cut apart with your Snips or Craft Knife, they make beautiful snowflakes!  Each sheet has 16 "snowflakes" which gives you 32 total to use as a beautiful focal point on your Christmas Cards.

I saw this card design on Sarah's Ink Spot and changed it up a bit with the stamps and embossing folders I have available.  See what you think.

Recipe:
Cardstock - Real Red and Whisper White
DSP - Flirtatious
Stamp Set - Beautiful Season (w-122680 / c-122682)
Ink:  Garden Green (for sentiment) and Staz-On Black
Stampin' Pastels (for coloring)

Cool Tools:
Embossing Folder - Snow Burst (124096)
Decorative Label Punch (120907)

I'm really happy with how it turned out and I'm off to go make some more!  Have a great day!

Some Cards to Share

There's been creative time this past week, but no time for posting, so here's a catch up of this weeks creations.  A couple of these were made by Linda, one of my customers and co-worker (um... she's one of my bosses, so be nice... lol).

I just love this first one.  She got the idea from an old post from Mary Fish but made a few changes to it.  Mary's was a square card and Linda made hers the standard 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 card size.  So much easier to mail.  We actually finished this one together on Friday since Linda didn't have the Scallop Trim Corner Punch (118870).  Linda made two cards, one with blonde hair and one with dark hair, each for one of her little neices.

Recipe:

Cardstock:  Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Watercolor Paper.  DSP - Patterns DSP Brights, Island Oasis (retired).

Stamps: Greeting Card Kids (w-119887 / c-120663) and Teeny Tiny Wishes (115370 - wood only available).

Inks and Markers:  Black Staz-On, Pumpkin Pie, More Mustard, Rich Razzleberry, Sahara Sand, Blush Blossom, Old Olive.

Punches: Scallop Trim(118402), Scallop Trip Corner (118870).

Finishing Touches - Ribbon - Rich Razzleberry with dots (retired), Basic Rhinestones (119246) and Basic Pearls (119247).

Linda also made this card for a friend of mine who's going through some serious health issues.

This is a card I made for the same friend.  She received it already, so I can post it now.  Didn't want to post it where she would see it first.

This card uses:  Herb Expressions (113224), Perfect Plum c/s, Whisper White c/s and Nursery Nest DSP (122347).  There are so many pretty papers in the Nursery Nest pack that can be used for so many things besides babies.  I used Stampin' Write Markers to color the flowers - Perfect Plum and Pear Pizzazz.  Punch used was the Decorative Label Punch (120907).

This one is the same as above except I used Pretty in Pink.

Every little boy (and lots of girls) LOVE Legos!  This card was really fun to make.  I have to admit, my fingers were very colorful after sponging the little circles with ink to give them depth, but it was well worth it for how it turned out.

I used the middle sized round from the Owl Builder Punch (118074) to make the small pieces.  Colors used were Pacific Point, Real Red and Whisper White.

Stamp Set:  Bring on the Cake (w-121899 / c-121958)
Thanks for looking in today and hope you enjoyed the fun cards we have to share.

Have a great weekend and create something pretty!!
