Fabulous!

Here are a couple more cards we made at Spring Fling 2014 last Sunday.  So easy to put together using the Retro Fresh Designer Journaling Tags and a few pieces of DSP and Card Stock.

I really like this one and the way the ribbon can be added so easily to the Journaling Tag to dress it up a bit.

Beautiful, don't you think?

A big thank you to Diana Gibbs and Ronda Rogers Morgan for so many great projects.

Thanks for looking in today.  Have a great day!

Happy Birthday Robert!

Yesterday was another birthday day for my family.  My "baby" born 28 years ago celebrated his birthday by going out to eat with me.  We went to Olive Garden which was a family favorite growing up.  It was so nice to spend the evening with him catching up.

So, not unlike Billy's birthday from earlier this month, Robert's card is made with Gorgeous Grunge (w-130514 / c-130517) and Yippee-Skippee! (w-131341 / c-131344) using Real Red and Pacific Point.

If you look back at Billy's card from earlier, you'll notice the same colors but with having a Blue base and Robert a Red one.  For as long as I can remember (28 years), the boys have received similar things since they have birthday's so close together and when they were little, the easiest way to tell one from the other was with color, so Billy would receive Blue (B for Blue and Billy) and Robert would receive Red (R for Red and Robert).  It's worked all these years, no reason not continue.

Thanks for looking in today.  Happy Hump Day!  (I just love this camel!)

Retro Fresh Journaling Tags

On Sunday a large group of stamping women gathered together for Spring Fling in Gilbert, AZ.  Below are a couple of cards we made using the Designer Retro Fresh Journaling Tags.  These tags make putting together great cards quick and simple!  Add card stock for a base, a little DSP, ribbon and these tags and look how nice it all comes together!

Here are what was left of the tags after we assembled several cards.  Some have some lines for, oh hey, journaling - others are pre-printed and ready for a little bling or dressing up with ribbon.  I'll show more tomorrow.

Been a busy weekend, so this girl is heading to bed so you can be reading this Monday Morning!

Have a great week!

Working Best Under Pressure

Do you work best under pressure or when you have plenty of time to plan ahead and produce?  Well, tonight (Saturday Night) I think I worked best under pressure!

Tomorrow (Sunday), which is already today when you read this, some of my stamping friends and I are going to Diana and Rhonda's Spring Fling and we've all be trying to make badges, but most of us never got around to doing it.  So Saturday, when I came home from visiting my family up in central Arizona, I put my brain in gear and came up with these.

You know, it's hard to produce when so many of your supplies are packed and ready for a workshop or stamping event.  But I have to say, I think these came out pretty good.

The idea is for each person to make a name badge to enter in the contest.  While ours are not unique, they will be pretty.  Besides, you should SEE some of the name badges those women at Spring Fling come up with!  They are amazingly creative.

So for today, here are the name badges for our stamping group.  Going to be having a great time!

Hugs,
Donna

My Paper Pumpkin - February 2014

This is the best My Paper Pumpkin kit so far and Stampin' Up is telling us that the kits are going to be getting better.  I admit I've wondered about keeping my subscription.  Yes, I know, I shouldn't say that if I want you to be a My Paper Pumpkin customer, but, I believe in being honest with my customers and any future customers.  The best thing to do is give it a try for yourself.

After opening and assembling one of the gift bags in this kit (and there are FIVE of them inside), my faith is renewed in a nice surprise of My Paper Pumpkin arriving in my mailbox each month.

Here's the quick bag I put together.  The letters are pre-printed and perforated then all you have to do is pop them out and attach them with a dimensional.  The outside circle is already in color and the starburst is white, just waiting to be stamped with one of the two stamps that comes with the kit.  One with dots (that I used) and one with stripes, that I'll use on my next one.

The bags are super strong and sturdy.  Attach the ribbon through the pre-punched grommets, personalize it and even decorate the bag with DSP.  I just didn't take the time to do that for this first one.

I hope you'll think about signing up for My Paper Pumpkin.  Give it a try for a couple of months and see what you think.  Sign up before March 31st and you will receive a FREE set of In-Color Stampin' Write Markers - a $14.95 value with your Welcome Kit.

Be sure to list me as your Demonstrator - Sign up at www.mypaperpumpkin.com - Donna Kish - Phoenix, Arizona.  I look forward to hearing from you as a new customer!

Thanks for coming by today to see my blog.

A Little Bit Smaller Now

Happy Friday!!!!  Can you believe it's Friday already?  Not me!  Of course, I only had a four-day work week, so that helps, but still, it's Friday!!

Today's card is a smaller version of yesterday's card as little thank you notes.

Here are the measurements:

Base (colored card stock) - 3" x 3", Very Vanilla 5 1/2" x 2 3/4" scored at 2 3/4".
Strip for scallop punch - 1" x 2 3/4"
DSP Strip -  5/8" x 2 3/4"

The best part... my inside stamp that is a Demo Only order and it has some really CUTE stamps in the set and the best part of the stamps - they are the CLEAR Photopolymer which I just LOVE!

More of our stamps will be manufactured as the Photopolymer and I can't be more exited!  I'm really looking forward to that.

Thanks for looking in today.  Have a great weekend and fill it with fun and of course, some stamping!

Something a Little Different

Can you see anything different in the way this card is created?  When you see it (or read about it below) I think you'll love it as much as I did.  I spotted this on Too Cool Stamping by Angie Leach and CASEd the concept but used a whole different color scheme and stamps.  Plus I made some plain that can easily be turned into anything I need.

This is really simple to do and it gives you the look of a dark card base but an inside that is light and perfect for stamping or writing inside.

This card uses a  base of Tangerine Tango cut at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  Then cut a piece of Very Vanilla 8" x 5 1/4" scored at 4" and adhere to the base, centering it so you have an even border all around.

The border accent is started with a piece of matching card stock (Tangerine Tango) cut at 1 1/2" x 5 1/4" then punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch (118402) which works perfectly with the 5 1/4" length.  Cut the DSP at 1" x 5 1/4" and adhere to the card stock.

Now you can stamp directly on the card front or stamp and layer like I did here.  You can see I made extra cards with other card stock that matches the DSP.

Stamps Well With Others Recipe:

Card Stock:  So Saffron, Tangerine Tango, Coastal Cabana, Very Vanilla
DSP:  Retro Fresh (132993)
Stamps:  Perfect Pennants (w-133227 / c-133230)
Ink:  Coastal Cabana

Thank you for looking in today.  Have a great Thursday, the weekend is almost here!

Swap Assembly Day

Next Sunday a group of us are going to be attending Diana Gibbs' Spring Fling, so on Monday (President's Day) since we had the day off work, we gathered for a day of card assembly.  Most of us had our card stock cut ahead of time, so all we needed to do was stamp, assemble and EAT!  Food is always a big part of crafting, right?

Here we go - I'll show you a couple today and share some more tomorrow.

Recipe:  Card Stock:  Very Vanilla, Pacific Point
DSP: High Tide (132992)
Stamps:  Hello, Sailor (w-133275 / c-133278)
Ink:  Calypso Coral, Pacific Point, Summer Starfruit
Ribbon:  Summer Starfruit 1 1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon (132980)

Card Stock:  Very Vanilla, Basic Black
DSP:  Modern Medley (126926)
Stamps:  Zoo Babies (w-130453 / c-130456)

Stamps:  Sassy Salutations (w-132070 / c-126707)

Happy Birthday Billy!

Today my first born turns 32 years old!  I just don't know where the time went, but boy oh boy, did it every!  Next week my "baby" turns 28.  I don't think I can call him baby anymore, but I still do, just when we're together.

You know the saying about the Cobbler's family having no shoes, well the same was almost true Sunday when I realized I hadn't made a card for Billy and we were going out for brunch.  I can't remember ever thinking up and throwing something together so quickly!  Thank goodness for Gorgeous Grunge and the fact that boys don't get too excited over cards to start with.

He has learned though, over the years, that he needs to look at the back and lo and behold, he actually was impressed with my "back of the card" stamp.  He said "You have a stamp with your name and information on it."  Wooo hooo, he noticed and commented!    Made Momma Happy!

It was a great time going out with him for brunch.  Next week I'll be finding a time to go out with Robert for his 28th Birthday!  February is just a tad busy.

Stamps Well With Others Recipe:

Card Stock:  Whisper White, Pacific Point, Real Red
Stamps:  Gorgeous Grunge (w-130514 / c-130517), Remembering Your Birthday (inside sentiment) (w-131347 / c-131350)
Ink:  Pacific Point, Real Red

Sweet and Simple!

Thank you for looking in today.  If you're one of the lucky ones, do you have the day off today for President's Day?  I do!!!  The girls and I are gathering to make swap cards for Spring Fling that we're attending next Sunday.  Going to be a FUN day!

Workshop Fun

No post of anything I made today, but instead here are some pictures from Saturday's workshop.  A small group but with online orders and a couple through email, Mary's workshop earned her TONS of free product.  I love it when my Hostesses can earn everything they want and more!  During Sale-a-Bration, Hostesses earn an additional $30 free product with a qualifying order!  Woo hooo!

I first made this card at my upline's Regional we had last weekend and just fell so in love with it and knew the girls would love it too.

This one was made by Mary Fontes (today's Hostess) and I loved how she added the sweet little heart inside as it will be going to her Grandson.  Love the heart for love, but it also passes as a great tongue!  The Tangerine Tango button looks great too.

From left to right:  Linda, Kristi, Marie, Mary.

Here's Marie's Gator.  She used a green button.

Here's Linda's card, still in progress.  You'll notice Linda has her favorite things surrounding her.  A bowl of chocolate (which was empty when she arrived, so I quickly had to fill that baby up!) and her Starbucks Very Berry Hibiscus.  My favorite also!

Another Starbucks Junkie - we all love our Starbucks!

And of course our helper, Kitten.  She just has to be in the middle of it all.  Bless her heart, she loves to stretch out and enjoys craft time as much as we do.

Thank you for looking in today.  May you have a Blessed Sunday.

Folded Window Card and Easter Blessings

While most of the country is buried in snow, Arizona is dealing with record highs in the 80's - yikes!  At this rate, we may not get Spring and I'm afraid of what Summer will hold!

So, let's do a little Spring for those who are making snow angels and tired of the pretty white stuff and for Arizona who whizzed by Spring in early January!

This pretty card idea comes from Dawn Olchefske, where she got it from her friend Kelly Acheson.  I think it's beautiful and while it looks complicated, it is really very simple.

Begin with Whisper White card stock cut at 9 1/2" x 5 1/4".  Score at 2 1/2" and 5 1/2".  Fold as shown below - like a "Z".  Using your 2 1/2" Circle Punch, place the small fold in just past half way through and punch.  You may want to use the table for leverage, since it's a hard squeeze.  Regular card stock will be too thick, so you'll want to use either our Whisper White or Very Vanilla.  The base behind the Whisper White is Strawberry Slush cut at 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".

Emboss the small flap with your favorite embossing folder.  I used Perfect Polka Dots.  The stamp used here is single wood stamp from the Occasions Mini called Blessed Easter.  The words are actually part of the stamp, but because I love the tulips so much, I wanted to use them for something other than Easter, so I cut the words off and placed them on the block away from the flowers.  My preference would be to put them on a separate block, but I didn't have any spares.

Stamp the tulips with Black StazOn and then stamp over the flower using the Happy Watercolor stamp smudge.  I used Strawberry Slush, Daffodil Delight and Pistachio Pudding.

Dress up the left hand flap with Strawberry Slush 3/8" Ruffle Stretch Ribbon.  Be sure you don't stretch it as you put it down.  I adhered mine with double-stick tape for a solid hold.

This card can be used for so many things.  I see a few of them in my future card stash!

Happy Saturday!

Pleasant Poppies Birthdays

This is going to be a fast post as it's been a LONG, LONG day and this old girl's bones are ready for bed!  (yes, I write and schedule these to post in the morning, before going to bed the night before.)

Today is my sister-in-law's 50th birthday!  Yikes!!!  So a pretty card is needed, don't you think.  I thought about doing something funny, but I'm not sure she's crazy about turning 50, so figured I'd go with some pretty poppies instead.

This was really very simple and I really like how it turned out.  Two of my favorite colors together are Baked Brown Sugar and Crisp Cantaloupe, so I thought they would really go well for this card concept.

Stamps well With Others Recipe:

Card Stock:  Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White
Ink:  Crisp Cantaloupe, Wild Wasabi and Black StazOn
Stamps:  Pleasant Poppies (w-132061 / c-129499), Label Something (w-130595 / c-130598)
Punches:  Modern Label (119849), Artisan Label (130920)
Dimensionals

Thank you for looking in today.  The weekend is closer, won't be long now!

Have a great day!

More Cards from Our Own Regional Event

Here we have two more of the cards I made for our weSTAMP Regional meeting last Saturday.  I have to admit when I first saw this blank card with the Gumball Green, I wasn't fond of it, but I like how this turned out setting it off with Island Indigo.

I think this one is really pretty with the Watercolor Wonder DSP with the Island Indigo and Gumball Green flowers.  Again I set it off with the Island Indigo mat.

More to come... be sure to come back tomorrow!

A Special Birthday

A dear friend is turning 90 next week.  Ninety, can you imagine!  So several people are going to be sending cards to this "young" man to celebrate this special day.

Here are two of the cards I made for him.  One from me and one from someone else to give him.

This first card uses the stamp set See Ya Later - which you can get for FREE during Sale-a-Bration (with the purchase of $50 before tax and shipping).  Isn't it cute?  There are three other stamps in the set that are all fun to use.

Maybe I should have counted the candles to see if there are 90 of them, I don't think he'll be counting them, so I think it's okay!  ha ha

This 2nd card is just a simple card using Sassy Salutations and Harvest Blessings.

Thank you for stopping in today.
