Hip Hip Hooray Brittney!

This was the birthday card I made for Brittney - my adopted office daughter!  Since I was only blessed with Son's it was nice to find Brittney to have as a daughter.  We may not be related by blood, but boy, you'd not know that after all the things we have in common!

Monday was her birthday, but since it was a holiday for us at the office, we celebrated on Friday.  Our favorite birthday cake is my Mom's Carrot Cake and oh baby, was it ever good!  You build muscles grating over 3 cups of carrots, but it's totally worth it!

So, you can see I added "carrot" between the words "with" and "cake".  Of course, calories don't count on your birthday, so add the extra slice and celebrate!

I love these Party Pop-Up Thinlits Dies.  They make our cards so much fun!  This is probably going to be one of the cards at our workshop this weekend.  At least something similar.

Don't you just love the bright Melon Mambo behind this one?  So bright and pretty!

Thank you for looking in today!  Happy Hump Day!

  1. I love the little insert of the word carrot! It made me smile as that is absolutely my favorite cake with cream cheese frosting! I hope you made the card first as I always get orange fingers from the carrots! Thank goodness I have a food processor for such things. But, I don't need co make a cake as we would just eat it! Anyway, I love the fun and festive card. I bet Brittney loved the card as much as the cake! I will have to remember that and insert the word "chocolate" for my husband's annual cake!

  2. Brittney did love the card and the cake. That cake was always my cake for my birthday when Mom was alive and it will always taste like "home and love" to me! The cream cheese frosting is the BEST! I need to get a food processor, but hate having to figure out where to store it when not using it. All these great kitchen tools and never enough kitchen!
