Bye Bye Bliss

That would be Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow and Tangelo Twist.  2014-2016 In Colors.  So I wanted to put these beautiful colors to good use before they go away.

I saw this idea on Sandi MacIver's blog and changed it up just a bit.  Thank you Sandi for the great idea to get me going!

But... before we go on - don't forget to check the Retiring List!  Shop My Store  or Click the link below and remember, all items are "while supplies last" so order quickly!  Use Hostess Code KQRYCTTH to receive a gift from me.

Recipe:
Whisper White Thick Cardstock 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
In Color cardstock 5 1/4" x 4"
Whisper White cardstock 5" x 3 3/4"

I stamped the solid flower first with the colored ink.  I found that the Blackberry Bliss was a bit too dark, so I made it a 2nd time by stamping off once.  I like both actually once they dried.  I only stamped two onto the card, the upper one and the lower one.  I stamped a 3rd one on scrap paper without any leaves and then fussy cut them out and popped them up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Then I stamped the outline with Memento Tuxedo Black.

The leaves were all stamped with Mossy Meadow, also stamped off once for most of them since it was very dark as is.

The little dots are from Number of Years (NOT RETIRING!!  yayyy!) I stamped it off once and then stamped 2 - 3 more times as the ink lightened.

I left plenty of open space so I could put on whatever sentiments I wanted to use.  I ended up using sentiments from Rose Wonder and Garden in Bloom (two more that are NOT Retiring! yayyy!)

I can see me making more of these with all of our colors!  What do you think?  ~ Donna

  1. Love these cards in the different colors! I like both of the blackberry bliss versions but the lighter might be my favorite with the more variant color. I really like how you stamped with the black too. Really makes the whole card pop! Great job and great idea. It amazes me how much I really like the little dots on there - just really adds something!

I saw the new colors on some other blog and I think they will be o.k. I really loved the mossy meadow but the new emerald is o.k. just not as dark in intensity. This would be a fun way of introducing the new colors to a group. Then, you could pick your favorite pr give them as a gift!

  2. Uh oh... someone leaked the new colors? Tsk, tsk! lol

I think you are right, that would be a great way to introduce the new colors. As soon as I get my hands on them, I just may do that! I can hardly wait to get some of the new things that are coming out plus I'm extra happy about some things that they didn't retire. Yayyyy!

Hope your eye is getting better day by day!
