Stella Strong

As you can tell by my watermark on the card, I'm back on my desktop computer!  Yayy!  I don't know what I did, but unplug, re-plug, turn on, turn off, it eventually works!  Thank goodness!

Today's card was made for a special little girl named Stella.  I am part of a Prayer Warriors group called Project H.O.P.E. with Ronda Wade and Sandi Dailey.  They shared information about this adorable little 3 year old who is fighting a battle with brain cancer.  On December 28, 2016, she was diagnosed with Diffuse Midline Glioma.  There is no cure, but she has begun Radiation, so there is hope.  She has a Facebook Page (Stella Strong) to read more about her and share your thoughts and prayers with this family.  She has a little brother and her Mommy is pregnant and due to deliver this week.  Quite a busy life for this young family.

Her favorite color is yellow - which is why she's going to get this little Daffodil Hey Chick!

Contact me if you'd like her address to help shower her with cards.

Here is the recipe for today's card.

Whisper White - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Dapper Denim - 5 1/4" x 4"
Daffodil Delight 5" x 3 3/4"
embossed with Hexagons Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder

I stamped the chick with Memento Black and then used our new Watercolor Pencils to color it in a bit and then used my Blender Pens to give the water coloring look.

The top layer for the chick was cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits which are AVAILABLE AGAIN!  and the Layering Ovals Framelits.

Inside, the cute little cracked egg - I just love this stamp set!  Have you received yours yet?

This chick just cracks me up.  Reminds me of Phyllis Diller.  You young folks will have to google her... LOL

Thank you for checking in today.  Remember to say a prayer for Stella and her family.

Happy Thursday!
~ Donna

  1. I haven't had much experience with kids cards but hey, I would love to send her some cards. I am sure I have some animal stamps that will be fun to use. I will watch the embelishments because of choking hazards etc.

I love that embossing folder you used. Love Phyllis and the bright yellow card! Dapper denim looks so great with the daffodil. Your card is guaranteed to make her and her family smile.
