Window Box Card

At first I thought I would try this with some DSP behind it, but it didn't turn out as pretty as this.  I think with the right DSP it would look great.

Instead, I sponged with Blushing Bride and Mint Macaron (retiring).  Actually, I say "sponged" but really, I used my daubers, much easier to get a smooth look.  Before sponging, I took a pencil and made just a little dot through the cutout at each end of the areas where I wanted the Mint to be.  Then added the Blushing Bride to the rest of the area on the card base.  Be sure to lay your cutout over it again before adhering to be sure every area is covered that you want to be covered with ink.

Use Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of the cut out to pop it up from the card.  When I was trying it with the DSP I discovered that I also needed to pop up in the middle somewhere or the die cut just dropped down on to card.  So I used a couple behind the sentiment to lift up the center as well.

  1. This is fun. I have only seen photos of stuff using this die. That a good tip about putting a dot where you want the different color to go. I would be using sponge daubers too as you get better control I think. I like sponges for a big area but I usually end up making a mess and getting it all over me. Next time I use a sponge I will use a binder clip on it to hold on. It looks like putting the dimensional on the sentiment helped lift up the cut out part - at least in the photo it does. Good thinking!

    1. Thank you Chris. I like using the binder clips as well, that or the old tag punch with cardstock. There's a new one coming out in a different shape, so I'm super excited about that!
