Sneak Peek - Wood Crate (with a freebie inside!)

Okay, so there's nothing free when you get the Wood Crate thinlits, but you can certainly put FREE THINGS inside.  In this case... free kittens!  Isn't this adorable?

I wish I could take credit for it, but this concept comes from Candy Ford.  When I was searching for ideas for using the wood crate, which by the way, actually makes a 3-D crate, I ran across her card where she just uses part of the crate.  The best part is the fabulous new 6" x 6" Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack.

There is even a little surprise inside using the side of the crate and one more kitten!

The hardest part was cutting out all the kitties from the Pretty Kitties stamp set, which is carrying over!  Yayyyy!  The sentiments also come from the same set.  I just love them!

To attach the sign, I used Linen Thread and an Embellishment from Urban Underground (retiring).

Good thing these aren't for real kitties, I already have a houseful and simply don't need any more - though knowing us, we will keep collecting them - even if just outside kitties that we feed and water.

Thanks for looking in today.  Happy Hump Day!

  1. Oh Donna this is just too much fun! I can't believe you fussy cut all the kitties out. I adore the little paws hanging over the edge of the crate. Look at all the fun colors and you didn't really have to color them, just change the cardstock color! The inside is so cute as well. Love how you used the linen thread and the screw head from the embelishments from the tools on there. I love that wood look paper! Well done and so much fun!

    1. Thank you Chris. I'm so excited about it, and you know, it wasn't that hard to cut out the kitties. Sometimes that's good therapy for me. If you look closely, its not that tight of a cut on the fur, but it works fine.

I just love this card! SO SO Cute!

    2. I shared your blog with several friends. Now they want me to make them some cards like this. We thought of some different colors for the kitties like maybe a pumpkin pie one and so safron. One even wants to play with the kitties and add stripes and splotches. Of course then I thought the vet's office is always trying to get people to adopt kitties that are dropped off as well as the humane society. Of course the ball of yarn needs to be a bright color and maybe a little frame of the yarn balls?

    3. I love your color ideas and had been thinking we needed more colors. I realized as I posted that I had intended to do other yarn ball colors!
