Barn Door with Window Sheet Sliders

A couple of weeks ago I spotted a video of how to use our clear Window Sheets to make the Sliding Barn Door - instead of using the #6 washers.  When I went to find it, I couldn't find it, anywhere!  So, I put my brain in gear and did my best to remember how to do it and ended up doing it how it worked best for me.  I'm still tweaking it, but this will work for now.

If anyone has seen the video, please let me know.  I'd like to give credit for the original idea.

Recipe:
Real Red - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Real Red - 5 1/4" x 4"
Whisper White - 3 7/8" x 2 1/2"
Soft Suede - for barn door
Whisper White - 5 1/4" x 4" (inside)

Link for instructions below.

Here is the first card I made, using different measurements on the window sheets and dimensionals.  None is visible here of course, and it worked, but I wanted to try other ideas first.

Besides, I wanted to play with the "barn cats".

Follow the instructions from Barn Door Blessings except instead of the #6 washers, use Window Sheets.

I also suggest using the Foam Strips instead of using the Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.  The Window Sheets are thinner than the washers - obviously, so the added foam (it is a little thicker than the Dimensionals), seemed to work better.

Remember to use the strips on the back before adhering to the front of the card.

  1. Looks good. I don't remember hearing about the acrylic sheets used with this but I probably didn't pay attention either. One of my friends back home used cardstock after she did the washers just to see and she said it worked but I don't know any more about it. She was trying to keep it light for mailing and someone had suggested it to her. The kitties are pawsitively adorable!

    1. I remember seeing the cardstock one as well. I'll have to try that too, although I really like the way the washers work best so far.

I love the kitties, but you know that! :)
