Sale-a-Brate with Butterflies

My next box of fun Occasions and Sale-a-bration supplies arrived and the first thing I had to do was make this card that I've CASED from Lynn Dunn.  Thanks Lynn!

I did make a few changes though because I wanted to get more cards out of the paper that I had and in order to do so, my measurements were altered a bit.

You can make this card with the beautiful FREE Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper (149622) with a $50.00 purchase during Sale-a-bration which begins TODAY - January 3, 2018.

Recipe
Basic Black Cardstock - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Botanical Butterfly (top) 4" x 4"
Botanical Butterfly Gingham (bottom) 2" x 4"
Whisper White - Layering Ovals - size depending on sentiment used
Basic Black - Layering Ovals Scallop - sized to go with oval
3/8" Shimmer Ribbon - black - tied into a bow and attached with glue dots

Inside:
Whisper White - 5" x 8", scored and folded at 4"
Botanical Butterflies - 1 1/2" x 8", scored at 2", 4" and 6"

Butterflies are punched from the Botanical Butterflies using the Butterfly Duet Punch.

When adhering the Whisper White to the inside of the Basic Black, be sure to use either Tear-n-Tape or Liquid Tombo so that you are sure to have a solid hold.  I also used Liquid Tombo to attach the butterflies to the strip.

You could also stamp another sentiment inside, but for this card, I chose to just put one on the outside.  Stamp set used is a new one from the Occasions Catalog also beginning today - Vibrant Vases which pairs with the Vases Builder Punch from the Annual Catalog.

Thank you for looking in today!  Happy Occasions and Sale-a-bration Kick Off Day!

  1. I thought the front of the card was really great and then seeing the inside, OMG what a smile it made! I will be CASEing this for sure eventually! any tricks to using the butterfly punch or just as normal? I tend to hesitate when there are more than one image you can punch out. Well done my friend!

    1. Thanks Chris! Thanks goes to Lynn Dunn since I CASED her! But I sure do love it.

There is a trick to doing the butterflies with the punch. You need to do a rough cutout of the butterflies so that you only punch one at a time, since the punch has a large and a small butterfly. You may have to attach a small post it so you can slide it into the punch, but that's very easy to do and it can be used over and over.

      Happy Friday!
