Candles and Match Holder

Something fun as a gift to give to just about anyone!  The design for this is from Debbie Henderson.  Thank you Debbie for such a great project!

Begin with a piece of cardstock 6 1/4" x 5 1/4", score at 1" on all four sides.  Fold on all the score lines.  Using your paper snips, cut angles on each side of the small tabs as shown below.

Add Tear and Tape to each tab.

Fold the sides up and the tabs in to form a box.  Remove the strip from the Tear and Tape and adhere to the side walls to create the box as shown below.

Cut a piece of matching cardstock 5 1/4" x 1" and score at 1" on each end.  Fold on the score line and attach Tear and Tape as shown below.

Remove the backing from the Tear and Tape and attach it inside the box as shown.  The candles should fit on one side of the strip and the matches will go in the other side.

Be sure to buy the large box of matches - ask me how I know it makes a difference!  Cut the striker strip from the box of matches - the length should be 4 1/4".  Attach the strip across the front of the box with Tear and Tape.

Cut a matching piece of cardstock to measure 8 1/8" x 4 3/4".  Score at 3 1/2" from each end.  Use the Detailed Trio Punch to round the four corners.  Fold up on the score lines.  (My apologies, I forgot to take a picture of this step, but you can figure it out, I'm sure.

Turn the box you've made upside down and add Tear and Tape on the bottom - similar to how it is shown below.  You want to be sure this has lots of sticking power!

Remove the backing from the Tear and Tape and attach the box to one side of the lid near the score line.  Be sure that the striker strip is showing toward the front or it will be covered with the lid / bottom piece.

Cut a piece of Designer Series Paper to coordinate with your selected card stock measuring 4 1/2" x 3 1/4" and one piece 4 1/2" X 3/4".  Round the corners along one of the long sides with the Detailed Trio Punch.  Attach to the top of the box with Tombo Liquid Adhesive (or you can keep using the Tear and Tape).  Attach the smaller piece to the back side of the cover.

Cut a length of ribbon at 22".  Add a piece of Tear and Tape to the bottom of the box where you want your ribbon to attach and wrap around the box.  Press the ribbon onto the Tear and Tape and wrap it around the box, tying a bow.

Decorate the box as desired.

Thank you for looking in today!

We had a GREAT workshop on Saturday.  I think the biggest attendance ever and lots of fun and laughs!  I'll share pictures tomorrow once I upload them.

Have a Blessed Sunday!
