Multi-purpose Roses

This turned out much prettier than I anticipated.  Yes, it involves some fussy cutting, but it will be worth the time, trust me!

I used the thinlits die to make the background mat.  Turn the die upside down and trace around the edge.  Take your paper snips and cut just a bit bigger than your trace line.  It doesn't have to be perfect, just similar with the proper bumps and dips.

Die cut out of Whisper White card stock and then on the back side, dab little bits of Tombo Multipurpose glue and then let it sit for a few minutes.  Don't let it dry completely, but just set up a bit.  This way it sticks beautifully and doesn't ooze out and leave a mess behind.

I used Soft Suede and Rose Red for these two cards.  Any of our beautiful colors will work well with this card and any of our stamps would be perfect, birthday, sympathy, just because, etc.

Thank you for looking in today.

Happy Saturday!

  1. Oh, I like this card! I love the way you added the corner on the left hand side with the color. Plus the smidge around the flowers adds a little extra dimension to the pop of color. This idea will be a keeper once I get the thinlits as it could work for any occasion and any color! Maybe my husband would even like this since he used to have a big rose garden when we lived in Houston. Too bad the Iowa Hawkeyes didn't win the Rose Bowl - I could have sent a ton of these to the team members!

  2. Thank you Chris. I just love this thinlit die. It is so pretty however it is used. I think you will really love it. I highly recommend the Big Shot Die Brush. It makes removing the roses from the dies so smooth and easy!
