Thinking of You

Here's another quick and simple card that you can use for any occasion.  I needed a "thinking of you" for a sweet friend who has just received some bad news about her health.  If you could take a moment and say a quick healing prayer for my friend Sue W. from Canada, I would be ever so grateful.

Recipe:
Whisper White Thick Cardstock - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Basic Black - 5 1/8" x 4 7/8"
Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper (FREE with Sale-a-bration) 5" x 3 3/4"
Basic Black - 3 7/8" x 2 3/8"
Whisper White Cardstock - 3 3/4" x 2 1/4"

Stamps:
Flowering Fields (FREE with Sale-a-bration) 141300 - wood / 141303 - clear mount
Party Pants (FREE with Sale-a-bration) 141324 - wood / 141327 - clear mount

Ink:  Memento Black
Markers:  Pear Pizzazz, Hello Honey
Gold Wink of Stella (the Gold goes great on the Hello Honey)

I took a piece of Hello Honey and cut it the same width as the DSP and then cut it at an angle.  There are no specific measurements for this, I just simply cut a piece that was the size I wanted.  Adhere it over the DSP and cover the seam with 3/8" Satin Stitched Ribbon in Basic Black.

I popped up the flower and sentiment with dimensionals.  Simple and classy at the same time!

Thank you for looking in.  Happy Saturday and remember to count your blessings every day!  ~ Donna

  2. Oh Donna, I am sorry to hear about your friend. It always makes me stop and think about things when things like that happen. Good thoughts, well wishes and prayers for your friend.

On to this amazing card! She will love it! The flower is so pretty and that little bit of gold stella stuff on there is just perfect. But what I really love is the angled layer! Makes it so fresh and fun! I love the black mating and figured you used black cardstock but you used ribbon which added just a little bit of dimension or an element of texture. The popped up panel is another perfect part. Simple and classy says it perfectly! This is one of my favorite cards of yours! Well done. Cyber hugs to you and your friend.

I showed this card to the girls at the workshop yesterday and they all loved the angled layer as well. It seems to really catch they eye.
