Birthday for Our Girl

On Sunday, Hubby and I had a fun birthday lunch with his daughter (and mine even though I'm not her natural mom, I love her like my daughter!) and her boyfriend.  Jen's birthday was Friday and her b/f's birthday is in a couple of weeks, so we took today to enjoy a birthday lunch with them both.

They just recently moved into a nice mobile home park and were so excited to show off their new "home", so we got them a Weber Kettle BBQ and took over all the fixin's to have burgers and potato salad.  It was Yum!!!

Here are the cards I made tor them.

Jen's Card:
Card Stock:  Tempting Turquoise, Real Red and Whisper White
DSP: Polka Dot Parade
Ink:  Tempting Turquoise, Early Espresso, Chocolate Chip, Melon Mambo, Cherry Cobbler

Mike's Card:

Soda Pop Trinkets - Take Two

I promised yesterday that I would show you the other side to the Soda Pop Tops, so, for those of you that missed yesterday so that you don't have to go back in time, here is the front:

and here is the back.  I personalized them by punching more Silver Glimmer paper with the 1/2" Circle Punch (119869) and then stamped the girls' initials with the Simply Serif Mini Alphabet (126360) and then punched that out with the circle punch from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack (118309) - it equals a 3/8" circle and works perfectly.

Here's a close-up so you can see what I used for the loop.  These are cute little scissor charms I found and way over purchased - let's just say that reading the details on eBay are very helpful so you don't end up with more little scissors than you know what to do with!  HA ha HA!

They were finished off with the little ball-chain keyring chains.  They could also be threaded with a small ribbon, the 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon would be a perfect size for that.

I gave them to the girls Saturday morning at our workshop.  I think they liked them... I hope they did anyway!

Well, another busy day today celebrating my stepdaughter's birthday.  We're off to BBQ at her house with the new BBQ she and her boyfriend are getting for their birthday.  Her birthday was Friday and his is later this month, so it's a two birds kind of day!  :)

Happy Sunday!

God Bless

Soda Pop Top Trinkets

I spotted this idea on another blog last week and fell in love with it, especially since I had recently purchased so many of the bottle caps and needed something really fun to do with them.

I'll show you the other side tomorrow - after I've given them to their recipients.  I don't want to spoil the surprise!

You can make these too, very easily.  Simply purchase the Soda Pop Tops (129388) from our Spring Mini Catalog, but don't wait to long, the catalog is only good until May 31st.  Punch a circle from the Silver Glimmer Paper (124005) with the 1" Circle Punch (119868), punch the hearts using the Owl Builder Punch (118074) and the Small Heart Punch (117193) from the Red Glimmer Paper (121790).  I printed out the SU label and snipped them out to go inside.

Using the Crystal Effects (101055) put a little CE in the bottom and then add the Silver Glimmer.  Put a dot of CE under each item you put in, this helps keep them from floating up (but watch them anyway, in case the do float up a bit) when you fill in with more CE.  Cover everything with CE and make sure to push them down with a toothpick if they start to float up - you may also have some bubbles coming from under the circle when air escapes.

It will be cloudy until completely dry, just let it sit at least overnight, longer if possible. You can see these below at different stages of drying and setting up.

New! Wood-Mount Cases

I've often wished that Stampin' Up! would offer the wood stamps in a more uniform size and Yayyyy - They did it!  I'm so happy.  It will be so nice to have them all the same size (or rather in 2 sizes that stack together).  Now I can alphabetize them like they should be.  Check out the video below for several uses for the new size cases.

Introducing our new wood-mount stamp set packaging! These new cases are similar to our clear-mount boxes and fit perfectly on the shelf right next to them. They also have the images and stamp set name on the spine to make your search for the right set even easier.

Starting May 31 all wood-mount sets will come in this new packaging . And empty cases will be available with the launch of the new catalog. That means you can transfer all your old sets to these new boxes! There will even be a template for you to create your own label for your old stamp sets (available May 31).

A pack of four half-size cases (3-3/4" x 5-1/2") will sell for $4.95 and a pack of four full-size cases (7-1/2" x 5-1/2") will be $6.95.

Bombs Away Birthday Photopolymer Stamp Set

Check out this BRAND NEW Photopolymer stamp set from Stampin' Up! available now!

Our top-quality photopolymer has just enough give to create a perfectly stamped image every time and with the introduction of our firm-foam pads, let's just say they're meant for each other! Photopolymer stamps will also be unique, fun designs that will inspire you and provide more versatile options you may not see in our traditional wood- and clear-mount stamp options.

What makes them so great?
  • They're entirely transparent for perfect placement every time!
  • They are durable. The photopolymer material is designed to last.
  • Can you say sticky? (Don't worry; in a good way.) These stamps stick amazingly well to our clear blocks.
  • They're age tested. They won't yellow or cloud up over time.
  • We could go on, but we'll let you try them for yourself.
They are clearly a great choice.

Thanks for checking in today.

My Paper Pumpkin Projects

Have you received your My Paper Pumpkin yet?  If so, have you made your cards or anything else with your kit?

I found my creative time today and made the following cards.  I've made up three so far and am working on an idea for the 4th one.  That's the great thing about My Paper Pumpkin, you can mix it up with just what came in the kit or you can add some other products to the cards to make it a bit snappy!

To this first one I used the Basic Gray Stampin' Spot that came with the kit and stamped some of the butterflies from Papillon Potpourri (w-123757 / c-123759) onto Daffodil Delight card stock and punched them out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch (127526).  I also punched a 7/8" Scallop Punch from Daffodil Delight and added some Daffodil Delight 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon (119254) to the button.

I liked the butterflies so well, I decided to add them to this card as well.  A little secret... this was the first one I made and when I stamped the dots, I made a bit of a boo-boo (overstamped and smudged - Ooops!).  So, like I always tell my girls, "There are no mistakes in stamping, just opportunities for embellishment."  So, the smudge was embellished with butterflies.  Perfect, right?

With the following card, I pulled out some fun from our This and That  Bundle (133350).  The Washi Tape was so easy to use to make little flags to put on this card with bakers twine.  The green sunburst is the left over from using one of the green dotted zig-zag circles from the kit.  I simply snipped the zig zag from the outside cutting out the left over white outline.  Easy to do!

If you've made something fun from your "My Paper Pumpkin" kit, I'd love to hear about it or better yet see it.  I'll post the 4th project as soon as I finish it and get it photographed.

Thanks for looking in today.

Dress Up Framelits

Ok, so I have a question for you... which do you like better.  Yes, I realize they are nearly the same just a little difference (and it's not the sentiment!) and I'd like to know which style you like best.  I suppose it's a matter of taste, so please share yours with me.  I'd like to know!

Do you see the subtle difference?
