AND NOW... THE LITTLE OWLS...

So, I met a nice young lady who will be graduating next month from High School and when she asked me if I had anything she could add to her Graduation Invites, I came up with a retired set that I've been holding on to because I love the little graduation cap!  I'm going to loan it to her to use and found a retiring color of ink that should work pretty well for her school colors.  I also showed her samples online of these sweet little graduation owls and told her I would try to make some for her.

Well, here they are!  Aren't they cute!?  Yes, everything there is retired, and I can't help that, but I just wanted to show them to you.  The school colors are Green and Gold, so I made the "cap and gown" out of Call Me Clover and the "diploma" out of copy paper that was as close as I could get to a nice golden color.  I checked their high school website for the real colors and these match pretty well.

We will be dropping these off tonight.  I can't wait to give them to her!

Happy Hump Day!!

Get Well Sooner

Do you find that checking out Pinterest can be dangerous?  I do!  BUT, I also find some things that just can't be forgotten and must be tried.  This is one of them!

I didn't CASE completely, but the ambulance (made from the Tasty Truck) and the adorable chicken, er, I mean nurse, were the highlight of the card.  The card I saw had a different (retired) get well and some added hearts and balloons.

Since I had already altered the Tasty Truck to make the UPS Truck, it was an easy decision to make this one here.  I have some other ideas too that I want to play with.  If you missed the UPS Truck, click HERE to see it.

Recipe:
Real Red - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Basic Black - 5 1/4" x 4"
Whisper White - 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"

Stamps:
Tasty Trucks (free Sale-a-Bration item)
Hey Chick (free Sale-a-Bration item)
Greatest Greetings

Extra:  Owl Punch for nurse's hat and outfit.

I snipped two small strips for the + on the truck and I hand drew the one on the nurse's hat.  I also stamped the strip of the truck onto Real Red and then hand cut it out and glued it down.

Isn't this just the most fun card?  Who wouldn't love to receive this for a little chuckle to help the healing come sooner.

Thank you for looking in today!  Have a fabulous Tuesday!

Say Cheese!

I can finally share this card with you!  This was my swap card for our Team Meeting yesterday and since we vote on our favorites, I couldn't share it until after.  Cute as it is, it didn't win this time, but wait until you see the one that did.  I'll share it tomorrow.  Oh My Goodness, so cute!  It seems there isn't anything that can't be done with the Fox Punch!

I cased this card and apparently I'm not the only one.  Another gal that had a display board also made this cute card but turned up the other way and she did the greeting a little different.

After I made this, and was showing it to my hubby, he suggested I put a piece of paper behind the front so you could write inside.  That is a good idea, but then you couldn't see the back half of the cute little mouse!

There was one quite a while ago where I did another "cheesy" card.  You can see it HERE.

Recipe:

So Saffron: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored and folded at 4 1/4".
Smoky Slate and Pink Pirouette (for Mouse)
Whisper White for Banner

Mouse:  Fox Builder Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, Owl Builder (feet)
Cheese:  Layering Circles (center hole), 1" Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch
Banner:  Large Numbers Framelits

To make the Mouse tail, I punched the Fox tail and then trimmed it with scissors to make the tail.

We had SIXTEEN Swappers this month, so I had lots of little mousies running around in prepping these cards.

Thank you for looking in today ~ have a Blessed Sunday!

Foxy Bear

I spotted these adorable bears on the home page at Stampin' Up! and had to find out more about them.  As far as I can tell, they are originally from Nicole Kunzig.  I couldn't really follow since it was in German, but visually this is what I came up with.

I used the Fox Builder Punch for the head and body, using my paper snips to round the pointy ears.

The bow tie is from Balloon Framelits and the snout and feet come from the Owl Builder Punch.  However, I also used the earmuffs from Snow Friends for one of the snouts.  I'm not sure which one I like best.  They are both cute.  The nose is from the Fox Punch.

Stamp the feet from the Foxy Friends stamp set  and then punch them out with the small circle from the Owl Builder Punch.  I also popped the feet up with Dimensionals.

The eyes were all so small from the stamps, so I made small ovals with my black sharpie pen.

Recipe:

Whisper White Thick cardstock - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Island Indigo - 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
Whisper White - 5 1/4" x 4"
DSP - Serene Scenery
Stamps:  Foxy Friends, Baby Bear
Punches:  Fox Builder, Owl Builder, Duet Banner
Thinlits: Balloon Framelits, Layering Circles
