Thinking of You

Do you have a hard time thinking of masculine cards?  Me too!  So today I wanted to make a card for my Uncle who is recovering from surgery and this is what I came up with.

Quick and simple, but I like how it turned out.

Recipe:  
Whisper White Thick Cardstock - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Soft Suede - 3 1/2" x 3 1/2"
Whisper White - 3 1/4" x 3 1/4"

Stamps:  Sheltering Tree
Inks:  Soft Suede, Pear Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Cherry Cobbler

If I were to make it again, and I might, I think I would stamp off the Cherry Cobbler before stamping it over the Pumpkin Pie.  It kind of killed the yellow and orange I had going there, but it still looks very pretty.

Thank you for looking in today.  It's back to the office for me after a week off work.  I'm not looking forward to it, so many other things I want to do instead.   Sigh...

So Very Much

How about a simple, yet beautiful Thank You card today?  These cards just took a couple of minutes to make and we can all use a stash of thank you cards.  This would also be great with the Stylized Birthday stamped in the middle.

Recipe:
Very Vanilla - 11" x 4 1/4", scored and folded at 5 1/2" (notice I changed it up today??)
Soft Suede -  5 1/4" x 4"
Very Vanilla 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"

Stamps - So Very Much (2017 Sale-a-Bration)
Sheltering Tree (Annual Catalog)

Begin with just the "leaves" portion from Sheltering Tree.  I used Blushing Bride, stamped off once and then stamped in the center of the Very Vanilla.

Then ink up the Thank You with Soft Suede and stamp over the Blushing Bride.  I also stamped "so very much" from the set.

I had a little bit of over stamping on this one, so when all else fails, cover with a ribbon!  :)

I also popped the top layer up with Stampin' Dimensionals because of the thicker ribbon.

I've Got My Eyes On You

Eye, err... I spotted this idea somewhere and simply had to play with it.  Once I found where I tucked away my little googly eyes, I was on a roll!.

I just knew the Sheltering Tree tree would be perfect and I think it turned out pretty well.  I already have a couple more ideas in my head to make this a little differently.

Recipe:  
Pumpkin Pie - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Smoky Slate - cut with largest scallop circle (after I stamped the tree)
DSP - Halloween Night 5 1/4" x 2" - (available September 1st)

Ink: Memento Black

Thinking of You

This is going to get a lot of use in my card making year ahead!  I see me stamping and coloring a lot of these.  Don't you just love the way the pillows "puff" up.  Such a fun technique to do.  To see how I did this in a previous post with balloons, click HERE.

For this one I wanted a tree in the background so I pulled out Sheltering Tree and inked up the leaves with Pear Pizzazz and then randomly tapped my Old Olive ink pad onto the leaves as well.  I made a mask to go over the swing so that I didn't over stamp onto the swing with the trunk or leaves.

I used a thin line of our Multipurpose Liquid Glue to attach the Linen Thread.  Just hold it in place for a few seconds and it sticks perfectly.
