Nail It for Father's Day

Before I start today's post, I'd like to ask for some Kitty Prayers for this silly Suzi of mine!  She's 11 years old and her kidney test numbers are very high.  She needs to drink more fluids and eat less protein.  Preferably the "kidney diet" that the Vet has.  She ate it well at first, but now refuses.  We've bought a bubbly water fountain - which she's starting to use and we can get her to drink and eat Tuna water - we'll be eating a lot of tuna this week... lol ... and she's getting fluid at the vet 3 times a week.

Please pray that she will eat and drink what she needs to get her numbers back in control.  She was a Mother's Day / Birthday gift from my youngest son 11 years ago this week.  I'm sick with worry, which is why I haven't been very consistent on posting.  I'm sorry about that, but my mojo just wasn't working.

This is Suzi Snicklefritz Kish.  Her name is bigger than she is.  LOL

Now, on to today's card!

Yes, I know, Mother's Day comes next, but I had this in my head and I wanted to color, so this is today's card.  Father's Day!  Plus I just love this set and when it goes into retirement, I won't be using it - at least not to post on here.

Recipe:  
Dapper Denim - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Watercolor Paper - 5 1/2" x 3 3/4"
Watercolor Pencils
StazOn Black Ink
Dapper Denim 3/8" Ruched Ribbon

Inside I added this sentiment.  It seems the perfect way to tell Dad thank you for raising you right!

Brittney's Workshop Alternatives

It's always fun to see my stampers alter their cards from the sample.  Mary used the great little banner that comes with this set for her "nailed it" sentiment instead of the little rectangle that I used (see the picture below Mary's)

Brittney went with a different tool and sentiment as well as color.  I'm so sad to see this set and framelits go away.  There are just SO many uses for it.  I think I'll be keeping it in my collection, at least for a while!

Here we have Brittney's version of our Fiesta card with added dimension by cutting out the Sombrero and hanging it off the FIESTA.

Then below she cut out a Pinata and Guitar and popped them up with Dimensionals on the Designer Series Paper.

Thanks Ladies for coming over today and stamping.  I missed getting a picture of Kathy's projects and Alyssa's, but I know they were awesome too.

Nailed It, Again!

This design is all over the internet, so whoever first did it, thank you!  I saw the pattern on Mary Fish's blog today and changed up the paper and stamps (hers was Easter and so cute).

I'm not sure why I put off doing this after seeing it for months, because it was really very easy to do.

Find the Recipe below.

Recipe:
Delightful Dijon - 11" x 4 1/4", scored and folded at 5 1/2"
Cut two inches from the fold and then cut the remaining piece to 4 1/4" x 2"
Cut the Urban Underground Specialty Designer Series Paper 4" x 1 3/4"
Delightful Dijon - 2" x 3"

To attach the 2" x 3" piece to the top and the bottom easily, line up the bottom 2" piece with the bottom of the card (as folded).

Then add a little adhesive (I prefer our Tombo Multipurpose Glue) to the top and the bottom and then place it where you want it on the card front.

Very Vanilla - Stitched Shapes Ovals - one size down from the largest.
Smoky Slate and Real Red - Stamp the Hammer twice and then cut the handle off the red one and attach it to the Smoky Slate.  I colored in the middle with our watercolor pencil (Early Espresso) and blended it with the Blender Pen.

Inside is Very Vanilla in one card and Smoky Slate in the other.  Both cut at 5 1/4" x 4.

Which do you like best for the inside?  At first I liked the Very Vanilla best, but then, I had to say the Slate looks pretty good too.  Which by the way is the one my hubby picked.

First Time I Saw You

This stamp set finally made it into my collection.  I figured Father's Day was far enough away, I didn't have to have it right away.  If you're like me, it's time to order yours and start making that special card for Father's Day.

Since my Father is no longer with us (passed in 1994) I'll be using this set for other types of cards like the fun one done here today.

Recipe:
Delightful Dijon - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Basic Black - 5 1/4" x 4"
Urban Underground Designer Series Paper (DSP) - 5" x 3 3/4" and 5" x 5/8" Strip

I stamped the Saw onto Smoky Slate and then used by Early Espresso Water Color Pencil to color the wood handle.  I die cut Hexagon out of Delightful Dijon and popped it up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Inside is a piece of Very Vanilla 5 1/4" x 4".
