My Team Swap Card

This is the card I was so excited to share earlier this week.  It has been killing me to have to wait until today!

Today was our weSTAMP Team Regional Meeting where our Amazing Upline, Lorri Heiling, plans several make and takes for us to do.  These meetings are always so much fun and I'll be sharing some of the things we made over the next few days.

We also had a group Card / or 3D swap and everyone who attends votes on their favorite.  This was my card, or rather, card front as that is all we need to make for these.  Some girls do whole cards.  Today I just did the front.

I began with Whisper White base 5 1/2" x 4 1/4", then a layer of Real Red 5 3/8" x 4 1/8" which I ran through the Big Shot with the Honeycomb embossing folder.

I added a lace doily the layered on a Basic Black Circle punched with the 2 1/2" Circle Punch and a Whisper White 1 3/4" Circle Punch.

The rose is Rose Red, punched using the Bird Builder Punch - Bird Wing x 3 and the Branch x 2 is Garden Green.  After attaching the branch as shown, I trimmed off the one under the top one so there is just one "stem".

I added a bit of Clear Wink of Stella to the roses to give them some shine.

The "Silverware" comes from Cups & Kettle Framelits Dies.  The framelits go perfectly in a bundle with A Nice Cuppa photopolymer stamp set.

I really LOVE how this came together.  Sadly, mine didn't win the vote this month, but that's okay, I am still very happy with it!

Simple Anniversary

Sunday was my wedding anniversary.  I wanted to make something special, but yet simple.  I think this fit the bill in both respects.  Best part, hubby loved it.

Look Who's Turning...

Yesterday's card was one of two that we made today at our January Workshop.   Today's card is the second card the girls made.  Each person made the number on their card according to their needs.  Mine will probably go to my youngest son who will be turning 30 in a month.  HOW is that possible, I can't have two adult children!  Yikes!

Actually, looking at the colors, I think I need to change up the colors and do something more masculine.  Mint Macaron just doesn't cut it!

You can see the shimmer on the card above where I used my Wink of Stella (clear) pen.  I love this pen, it is so much fun to use to add spark to anything.

Recipe:
Whisper White Thick Card Stock - 11" x 4 1/4", scored and folded at 5 1/2"
Crushed Curry for the Banner and Balloons

The 30 is actually popped up with craft foam.  To see the details on how I did this, check my earlier post HERE.

To make the "arch" for stamping the "Look Who's Turning", I used the Circles Framelits.  I used the largest circle and then skipped one and used the next one.  Put the two together and carefully center the smaller one inside the larger one and you have the perfect size and curve for this stamp.

It's big enough to make three arches.  My sample is white, but we used Crushed Curry for the card.  Then just simply snip the sentiment out and pop it up on the card.

Beautiful Blessing

Hello Life Cards - Round Two

Window Card

This card was made a while ago and I found it this weekend when I was organizing my craft (tornado) area.  How do our work areas turn into a tornado zone so quickly?  

Please tell me I'm not alone here!  :)

This card is very simple.  Start with a base of 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4", then a second "base" 8 1/4" x 5 1/4", scored at 4 1/8".

Using the Circles Framelits, die cut a circle in the middle of the colored cardstock.  Stamp on the front of the second "base", so that it will show inside the window.

Attach the back of the second "base" to the back of the main card base.  Do not attach it to the front, unless you want to.  I like the look of it being loose. 

Did you check out this week's Weekly Deals yet?  Did you see the Party Punch Pack is on the Weekly Deals?  This is a BRAND NEW punch set from the Occasions Catalog.  I've never seen this happen before.  Snatch those punches up as quick as possible!  I know I plan on it.

Need Inspiration?

Do you ever have crafting days where you just can't find your craft?  That was me on Sunday.  I have all these great new "toys" to play with from the Occasions Catalog and nothing would come together.  Days like that make me crazy!

So, how do you get out of those funks?  Check out the catalog of course and find something to inspire you.  The inspiration for today's card comes from page 10 in the Occasions Catalog.  I see a couple more there I want to CASE as well.  What is CASE?  I'm glad you asked.  CASE is:  Copy And Share Everything.  

Of course, I changed it up a bit, so I'll tell you what I did.

Recipe;  Whisper White Thick Card Stock - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Designer Series Paper:  Birthday Bouquet 5 1/4" x 4
Whisper White: 4 1/4" x 3

It was so fun stamping random flowers onto the base of leaves, stems.  Think of the possibilities.

Watercoloring with Wink of Stella

I spotted this idea on Patty Bennett's blog and just knew I had to try it.  These roses came out so pretty and I can't wait to do more of them!  Thank you Patty for your inspiration!

This is so simple, you won't believe it and it has a WOW factor that will certainly impress without working hard at all.

Begin with the Rose Garden Thinlits die and cut one from our Gold Foil Sheets and adhere to Watercolor Paper.  Use the method from yesterday's post.  If you missed it, click here to see it now.  Allow the Tombo Liquid Glue to set up since you will be adding water to the card.

While that is drying, select your colors that you will be using for your rose.  For the first one I did, I used Calypso Coral and So Saffron and Old Olive for the leaves on both.

For the yellow one, I used the colors below:  Crushed Curry, So Saffron and Daffodil Delight.

Place a drop of each onto one of your clear blocks (or whatever you may use when watercoloring).

Once the rose / glue is dry, use your Aqua Painter and add water to 2 or 3 areas of the rose.

Then dip your Gold Wink of Stella Pen (from the Occasions Catalog) into one of your colors and gently touch it to the watered area.  The ink will spread nicely and will pick up the beautiful gold glimmer in the pen at the same time.  Add the other colors until you have the rose finished and you are happy with the results.  The colors will dry a little lighter than they appear.

Be sure to wipe off your Wink of Stella pen when finished so it is ready to be just glimmer for your next project.  I think I'll probably pick up a few more and designated them to special color families (reds, yellows, greens, etc.) so I don't wipe off more glimmer than necessary.

I only wish they photographed better.  In person, they are so sparkly and beautiful!

More fun with Rose Garden Thinlits today.  I decided to change up the card fronts I did from Multi-purpose Roses.  If you missed that day, click HERE to see them.  Today I went with brighter, more fun colors and instead of having a space around the rose cut, I bumped it right up against the Whisper White card stock.

I was in need of some Thank You cards, so that's what I went with today.  These are so beautiful though, they could be for any sentiment you need.

Recipe:

Whisper White Thick Card Stock - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Basic Gray - 5 1/4" x 4"
Colored Card Stock (you're choice) 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"
Whisper White - 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"

Place the Rose Garden Thinlit wherever you would like it on your Whisper White.  Be sure if you are going to make multiples, you keep the rose with the piece of card stock it came from so they line up perfectly on your color card stock.

This is a tip I've shared before, but it is worth repeating so that you can get the best results when attaching any thinlits to your card stock.

My favorite way is to use the Tombo Multi-purpose Glue (you'll hear us call it 'green glue' because of the green bottle).  Sparingly place little dots or short lines of glue on the back of the rose (or other thinlit you are using).  Don't worry, it dries slowly, so you'll have plenty of time to get your glue on there.  Then, leave it alone for a few minutes.  This way it will dry up just a tad, and when you turn it over to place it on your card, you won't have glue oozing out away from the edges.  Perfect!

It's hard to see here, but if you click on the picture, it should open to a bigger window for you to see it better.  Then you can see the dollops of glue.  The BEST tool you can have when working with any adhesive is the Silicon Craft Mat.  A must have!

While waiting for the glue to dry a bit, place your corner piece of whisper white onto your color cardstock, then you will be ready to add the roses.

Hello Life Cards

Hello Life Cards

I picked up this cute Hello Life Project Kit the other day and am really happy with how the cards come together so quickly.  However, I'm not using the instructions that come with the kit, I'm using another set of instructions to make different cards.

I'll be sharing more from this set over the next few days.  There's no cutting involved, other than a few snips here and there, everything else is ready to pop out and attach!
