Dolled Up Birthday Kit

Most of you have probably seen this card already, but I'm just now getting the time to make on up.  I love it!  So simple and so pretty to make up for a quick card.

I added a little extra to it by decorating the envelope with some DSP from the Print Poetry (129312) paper stack in the Spring Mini.  So many pretty papers inside this stack.  Get yours before May 31st and the end of the Spring Mini.

To assemble one card, follow the instructions below:

1. Place the stamp on clear-mount block D or H rubber side up and ink with the Soft Suede Classic Stampin' Spot.
2. Stamp "Happy Birthday" at the bottom of the card front.
3. Ink the Sponge Dauber with Soft Suede ink and gently antique the doily and the edges of the dress form.
4. Adhere the pieces to the card front in this order:
   
   • Doily
   • Very Vanilla Cardstock
   • Dress form
   • Flower

Girl Scout Creations / Mother's Day Projects

I apologize for not posting yesterday but was preparing the finishing touches for a great little Mother's Day project with a great group of Girl Scouts - grades 1 through 4.  They were all so sweet and made the project so totally worthwhile.  

JoAnn, thanks for asking us to put this together.  I wasn't sure what to expect, having only gone through being a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader from 2nd through 8th grade with my own two boys (who are now 31 and 27), but tonight was fun!

Here are some pictures from Monday Night's event.  This was the sample, made by me... 

Now let's see the creativity of the girls.  They each made a gift bag and a card for their Mom's for next Sunday.  See what you think:

 

I think they all turned out really well!  They had glue sticks to work with, which really was safer than bottles of glue!  LOL and we decided against any stamping, figuring they shouldn't turn up at home with ink all over their fingers and clothes.  Goodness knows we adults have enough trouble keeping our fingers clean when we stamp, can you imagine First Graders with wet juicy ink pads and stamps?    :)

Special (GIANT-SIZED) thanks to Brittney for going with me tonight and helping me with the girls.  She has the perfect knack for working with kids.  She's going to make a great teacher someday!!  Thank you Brittney, I couldn't have done it without you!

I used some soon to be retiring DSP - Fan Fair (126918) and my Fun Flowers Bigz L Die (121812) and of course the Big Shot Machine (113439) for cutting out the flowers and the letters - Typeset Alphabet Bigz (127553).  The bags are from the dollar store, love that place!

Stamp a Stack - May 2013

I just LOVE the bright colors on this card and in this DSP.  I only have a few weeks left to use it before it goes away, so what better way than with making it into a Stamp-a-Stack.

Start with base card of 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" in Whisper White - score at 4 1/4"

Measurements: 

• Pacific Point - 4 7/8" x 3 1/2" and 4 5/8" x 1 3/8" - use the scallop punch on this piece along the long side.  There should be 10 scallops.
• Whisper White - 4 5/8" x 3 1/4"
• DSP - 4 5/8" x 1"

Punches:

• Postage Stamp Punch: Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point, Melon Mambo (1 each)
• 1" Square:  Whisper White (x 3)
• 1" Circle Punch (your choice of card stock)
• 3/4" Circle Punch:  Whisper White (after stamping sentiment)

Using the Argyle Embossing folder emboss Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo scraps and then punch with the Bitty Butterfly Punch.  Attach to 1" Whisper White Square with Dimensionals.

Erin's Owls - Guest Creator

One of the newest gals in our stamping group, Erin, made the cutest little Pirate Owls for a bookmark and I just have to share it with you today!

The picture came from a cell phone and I resized it a bit, but much more and it would have been too blurry I think.

I just wish you could see it bigger.  We'll have to get Erin to create some more adorable owls that we can snap a picture of.  

Awesome Job Erin!!  You really are hooked now, we'll never let you go!  :)
