Yippee Skippee - Happy Time!

Yippee Skippee, the weekend is here!  I do love the weekend, especially if it is going to involve Stamping!  Our Team Meeting is Monday night, so this weekend I'm working on my swaps for the meeting.

Until then, here is a cute card I CASE'd from Susan Itell - thanks Susan for the great idea!  I did change the size from a square card to a standard size 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" but the colors and the "design" are from Susan.

I love this card - it's so bright and pretty and just jumps right out at you, don't you think?

I even decorated the envelope with Yippee-Skippee!  Always fun to have a special stamp on the outside.

A Little Boy and his Wish

Today we have Guest Stamper - Linda!

Linda made this "Super Hero" card for a little guy who is turning FIVE today.  Here's the story posted on a local news station here in Phoenix, AZ:

Please SHARE to help! What does this Massachusetts boy want for his birthday? Just a bunch of birthday cards.

5 year old Danny has inoperable brain cancer. He will turn 6 on July 25th. His parents say he gets lonely from time to time and loves to get cards. Let's all show him some love from Arizona!

 To mail Danny a card:
Danny Nickerson
P.O. Box 212
Foxboro, MA 02035

Here's the card I made for him (I thought I'd posted it already, but apparently that was on facebook!) Maybe because this cute stamp set is retired!  Drats!

Even though his birthday is today, there's still time to send him a card.  A birthday should go on and on and on, don't you think?

Thank you for looking in today.  Have a fabulous weekend!

Watermelon Thank You

Saturday's workshop order arrived today and everything is sorted and ready to deliver!

I've had several comments on my "Sweet" watermelon Work of Art card (click here to see it if you missed it) so I wanted to make that this month's little thank you note.

This is SO easy to make.  I stamped the watermelon rind with Old Olive and the flesh of the watermelon with Strawberry Slush.  Sounds wrong, I know, but it works so perfectly!

The "seeds" are punched from Basic Black card stock using the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack and gave them a little highlight with the white Signo Gel Pen.  Then tied it up on the side with some Strawberry Slush Thick Bakers Twine.

Thank you for looking in today.  If you like what you see here, I'd love to hear from you.  Comments are always so much fun to receive!

A Little Something Cute

Here are two of the cards the girls made at our workshop on Saturday.  Well, these are my samples, as usual the girls dressed theirs up differently and they all came out so cute!

Have you ever had to try to figure out the middle of a piece of card stock you're using?  If you are like me, you hate math and struggle with it.  BUT Stampin' Up! has a way to make that so simple!  SU has awesome grid paper that I have on my workspace at all times and of course use it at every workshop or class.  So, if you have some take a closer look:  along the bottom, the ruler goes from 0" to 16" left to right across the bottom. Now, turn the grid around so the top is at the bottom and look in the center.  The center is ZERO and grows bigger in 1/4" increments out!  Yayyyy!

This grid makes a way to line up the card stock so you can punch the tabs at the same spot on each side so they line up perfectly using the Scallop Tag Punch.

Here you can see what I do.  I learned this from Dawn Olchefske on her blog, THANK YOU Dawn!

Place your punch so it is centered on the "0", trace the top of it onto your grid and then line up your card stock so the 5 1/2" side is also centered.

Place your card stock inside the punch.  You'll need to slide it in carefully as the punch is made for a 2" wide piece  of card stock, but you can get around that and put in any size you want.
