Here is this month's thank you note for Kathy's workshop customers.  I love making these little notes for the girls and look forward to making something fun and unique.

Delicate Ornament Christmas

I spotted this beauty on Kay Kalthoff's blog and fell instantly in love with it!  So on Wednesday (which was the Veteran's Day Holiday from my "day" job) I spent the day with friends making Christmas Cards where I made several varieties of this one.

Thank you Kay!  I love this idea!

Recipe:  
Base: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"  (I used Real Red for some and Basic Black for others)
Softly Falling Embossed layer:  Shimmery White:  5 1/4" x 4"
Mat (red or black): 4 1/4" x 2 3/4"
Ornament Layer:  Shimmery White :  4" x 2 1/2"
Layer beneath the ornament:  2 1/2" x 2 1/4"

Stamp the sentiment you wish to use first along the bottom of the ornament layer.  I used one from Reason for the Season (139730) which bundles with the Festive Flower Builder Punch (140847 - bundle).

  
Then carefully using the small delicate ornament place it centered and above the sentiment, leaving room to tie a ribbon around the top.  If there isn't enough room to tie a ribbon around the top of the card, then simply tie a pretty bow and attach it to the top of the ornament.

To get the design to go inside your ornament, simply take the ornament that was cut from the Shimmery White (or if you wish another color such as gold foil, silver foil, red foil, etc.) and trim it as shown in the picture below.  Simply snip off the top and the bottom.

As you can see, I left one of them whole here and it looks awesome too!

Below are more samples to see.  I only wish you could see how beautiful as the Shimmery White paper looks.  If you haven't ever used it, I highly recommend it.  It is gorgeous!

Snow On Santa's Chimney

A new twist to the Santa in the Chimney Card.  To see the original version, click HERE.

Brittney wanted to make this card for her Christmas Cards this year but she wanted to add some snow to the top of the chimney.  So, we looked through my framelits and found the framelit from Festive Fireplace.  It is the framelit that would be used to cut out the Pine Bough you would put on the fireplace or windowsill.

She used it with Whisper White card stock and then cut it in half longways so she could get two pieces out of each one cut.  That makes a big difference when you're making nearly 30 cards!

Didn't this turn out great??

Spider Web's Life After Halloween

First of all, let me say Thank You to all the Veteran's in our lives who have fought and died for our freedom!  My Father served in World War II and I'm so proud of him for that.  I love you Daddy and miss you like crazy!

I bet you think that Spider Webs may be a thing of the past since Halloween is now over, but Stampin' Up! has a great video on alternate ways to use your Spider Web Doilies.  Especially for those customers who may have just received theirs after the Backorder Issue.

Take a minute to watch and let's see some of these fabulous ideas.

I know I personally have several customers who just received their doilies this past week.  Now is the time to put the "think outside the web" ideas to use!

Post Wedding Thank You

If you've been following my blog much at all, you'll know there was a lot of wedding prep posts over the past few months.  Click HERE to see the invites and a few of the preps we did. 

This past weekend, we (the bride, the niece and myself) made thank you cards for Brittney to write and mail.  I think they came out beautifully and with three of us working on them, they came together quickly and easily.

Okay Mrs. Johnson, time to start writing those notes!

Kathy's Workshop

Another fun workshop on Saturday in Kathy's beautiful home.  I've declared all future workshops will be at Kathy's!  It was so much fun and she really fed us well.  Yummy chili and cornbread, perfect for fall weather.  Although our two days of fall weather were Thursday and Friday.  Saturday was back to gorgeous 70 degrees and sunshine.  

Look at the cute chalkboard greeting she had for us when we arrived.  So much fun!

Here are the girls for today - Patti, Ida, Mary F., Mary P., Kristi and Kathy.

This lady knows how to decorate!   Even the tea came in an adorable pumpkin!

This was Ida's first time stamping with us.  I think her snowman card came out great, don't you? 

Our second card was made with the Delicate Ornament Thinlits Dies with Red Glimmer paper.  They are so pretty, but oh boy, there was a LOT of little pieces to poke out!  It was a good time for visiting and laughing.
