You Made My Day

I saw this on a smaller card, I think probably a 5" x 5", but I wanted to expand it and made a standard card size 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  I thought I wrote down where I saw it, but I can't find the note now.  Argh!  Anyway, I changed up the size and the banner behind the compass (which was fussy cut... I don't think I'll do that again, it was tough!)

Recipe:
Mossy Meadow - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper - 4" x 5 1/4"
Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper - fussy cut blue compass
Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper - 1 1/2" x 3", then snipped banner ends
Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Baker's Twine.

Sentiment is from the Come Sail Away Memories and More Card Pack
Whisper White 4" x 5 1/4 - Inside Panel

Chatty Birds and Retired Stamps for Sale

Did you see my facebook page with all the great retired Stampin' Up Stamps for sale?  If you didn't be sure to check it out soon!  Check them out HERE and email me with the stamps you wish to purchase.

When I saw this paper in the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper, I imagined all these little birds standing around having a meeting.  A big group of friends, just chatting and having a good time.

I tried this two ways, one with Flirty Flamingo as a mat frame and one with Basic Black.  I can't decide which one I like, so let me ask you...

Which do you like best?

Recipe for both except for the obvious color difference.

Whisper White Thick Cardstock - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Flirty Flamingo / Basic Black - 3 3/4" x 5"
Bird Ballad DSP - 3 1/2" X 4 3/4"

I wrapped Linen Thread on one and Braided Linen Trim on the other.

The words were die cut with Stitched Rectangles.

I'm leaning towards the Basic Black, it seems more distinct.  But I do love to add color to any card I can.

Make it a great week... it's MONDAY again!

Bird Ballad Beauties

Clearly, I'm going to need more of the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper.  So many beautiful ways to use it and so many images to enjoy.

Recipe:
Petal Pink - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Bird Ballad DSP - cut with largest Stitched Nested Labels
Whisper White - cut with the largest Stitched Nested Labels
Bird Ballad DSP - fussy cut your favorite birds and flowers.

I sponged the Whisper White with Balmy Blue and then popped up the fussy cut over the sponged area.  then layered it over the other piece of DSP from Bird Ballad (the polka dotted one).

I love how the image appears to be floating above the paper.

Thank you for looking in today!  Be sure to check my facebook page.  There are several Retiring Stamp set available for sale.  See them here:  Retired Stamps for Sale.

Come Sail Away Memories & More

Have you checked out the Memories and More Come Sail Away Card Pack?  This little pack is awesome for making some fast and easy cards and so many can be made without any stamping at all.

Here are two cards that I whipped up very fast and only stamped inside one of the cards with thesamps from Sailing Home.  The other one I'm going to save for a Birthday Card, so need to find a birthday greeting for inside.

Recipe:
Smoky Slate - 5 1/2" X 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4
Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper - 4" x 5 1/4"
Come Sail Away Memories and More (Lighthouse and Sailboat)
Night of Navy / Sahara Sand Bakers Twine

I added a little strip of Night of Navy under the sailboat on this card.  I had one cut out for the lighthouse and forgot to attach it!

Inside - Whisper White - 3 3/4" x 5"
Normally this would be 4" x 5 1/4" but I had a 5" wide piece of cardstock, so I made it a 1/4" smaller than usual.  Looks good to me!

Here's a close up of the bakers' twine.  Instead of tying a knot, I simply crossed the ends over each other and then taped them down to the back.  Not quite a sailor's knot, but it works!

Thank you for looking in today!  Happy Saturday!
