Veterinarian Retirement

One of our favorite Veterinarian's retired this month and on Saturday night, there was a surprise party for him.  I wanted to be sure to make something really special for him and I think I made something he'll like.

This is a combination of two stamp sets:  Happy Tails and Witty-Cisms

Recipe:
Mossy Meadow - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper - 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
Whisper White - 4" x 5 1/4" - punch the Cat and the Dog
Whisper White - 4" x 5 1/4" - inside panel

I popped up the Whisper White with Foam Adhesive Strips.  I cut smaller pieces to fit in the more detailed areas.  Remember that Stampin' Dimensionals are not as tall as the Foam Strips, so if you use both types, you'll need to double the Dimensionals.

Shiny Gold Birthday Card

How about a beautiful elegant card made with Sale-a-Bration Freebies?  Such a great deal!

Recipe:
Basic Black - 4 1/4" x 11", scored at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2" - fold into a "Z"
Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper - 2 1/2" x 4" (freebie from Sale-a-Bration)
Gold Foil Paper - 3" x 4 1/4"
Basic Black - Die Cut with Stitched So Sweetly rectangle scalloped die
Very Vanilla - 3" x 4 1/4"

Stamp cake image from Happy Birthday to You (freebie from Sale-a-Bration) with VersaMark onto the black scalloped cardstock and emboss with Gold Embossing Powder.  Adhere to the rectangle Gold Foil paper.

Stamp sentiment onto Very Vanilla cardstock with VersaMark and emboss with Gold Embossing Powder.  Adhere the Very Vanilla to the back of the centering it so it lines up with the cake piece on the front.

Add a bow using Petal Pink Ribbon to the front of the cake plate with a glue dot.

Now, this card will not stand up like a standard card, so don't be surprised at that.  It does lay nicely with the front standing up beautifully!

Thank you for looking in today!  Happy Friday!

Life is Short, Buy the Shoes

Another fun project from our Team Retreat.  Very simple on the outside, with a secret on the inside.  Now don't peek... wait for it!

Recipe:
Whisper White Thick Cardstock - 4 1/4" x 11", scored and folded at 5 1/2"
Best Dressed Designer Series Paper - 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" (the one with the shoes, of course)
Whisper White - Die cut with Stitched Rectangle - attach at an angle and trim off the edges
Whisper White - Die cut with Stitched So Sweetly Die
Whisper White scrap - Stamp "traveler" lady from On to Adventure (149334).  Fussy cut and color in your colors of choice.  Cut off the "suitcase" then cut some Designer Series Paper to look like a shopping bag.  Attach with a piece of bakers twine.  Add a pearl necklace with Rhinestone Basic Pearls.

On to the inside:  It's a Shoebox!

Shoebox:
Crumb Cake - 5" x 1 3/4", scored at 1 1/8", 2 1/4", 3 3/8" and 4 1/2"
Fold on the score lines to make a box and add adhesive on two sides (one that faces the back of the card and one that faces the bottom.)
Crumb Cake - 1 7/8" x 3/8" - attach to the front of the box (to look like a lid)
Fussy cut two shoes from Best Dressed Designer Series Paper and pop onto the top of the box by attaching to the back of the card with dimensionals.

Isn't this just adorable!?

Thank you for looking in today!  Happy Thursday!
