Country Livin'

I wanted to share another swap card from earlier this month.  I'm so happy that this set isn't retiring.  It is one of my favorites to use for quick masculine cards.

This one by Lori Getz is so well done.  I love the lasso she made with the linen twine

Grad Hat Hooray!

I'm having so much fun making things for Meghan's graduation.  I just can't seem to stop!  I really must though now because, really, I've covered everything, a card, a gift and little owls.  LOL

First of all a big shout out to one of my team mates - Cindy Sheldon - who gave me one of the Sweet Treat Cups to make this since didn't have any to use.  Next shout out to Sarah Wills, Susan Itell and Julie Davison who were all part of this post where I found inspiration.  You can find written instructions there as well as a video by a non-Stampin' Up! person on how to make the tassel. 

Inside are Ghirardelli chocolates and some money rolled up like a diploma tied with her school colors - which in this case is Call Me Clover and Pineapple Punch.

I used Whisper White Thick Baker's Twine for the Tassel with Call Me Clover and Pineapple Punch 1/8" Grosgrain Ribbon to add color.

I doubled the square piece for the top of the hat.  I didn't see that in the directions, but the original picture sure looked like it was doubled.  Plus, extra strength can't hurt.  To attach the square, I used our Foam Adhesive strips as they are a little thicker and filled in the space nicely.

I attached the tassel with a large sticky glue dot and then added another circle of Basic Black to make it stronger.

Another Swap Card and My Birthday Month!

Recipe:

Crushed Curry - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Crushed Curry - 3 3/4" x 5" - popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals
Classic Garage Designer Series Paper -  1 3/8" x 1 3/8"
Layering Squares Scallop - 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" - also popped up with Dimensionals

Stamps - Geared Up Garage - thankfully carrying over to the new Annual Catalog.  The paper will be retiring however, so better grab it now if you want it!

Pizza Dad

Is this clever or what?  This was one of our make and takes from our last Team Meeting, and I just love it so much.  Even though my Dad is gone, I know there are others who will love making it for their Dad.

I can also see making the 2nd "D" a "Y" instead and stamping Happy Birth and let the DAY be the focal point.

Recipe:
Crumb Cake - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Crumb Cake - 4 3/4" x 3 1/4" (cut with Stitched Rectangle of about that size)
Die Cut (2) "D" using Large Letter Dies (Retiring)
Stamp Sentiment where desired in Memento Black
Sponge edges of all Crumb Cake edges with Crumb Cake ink

Cut out a So Saffron Circle from the Large Circle Dies (the one about 3" in diameter)
Trim to a pie shape triangle that is about 2 1/4" - sponge edges with Cherry Cobbler ink

Cut out a Crumb Cake Scallop from the Large Circle Dies (the one about 3" in diameter) and trim so the edge fits under the pizza triangle - sponge edges with Crumb Cake ink

Run a piece of Cherry Cobbler through the Big Shot with Softly Falling embossing folder - punch with 1" Circle punch - sponge with Cherry Cobbler ink.

Using Basic Black Cardstock, punch 1/4" circles and then punch the 1/2" circle over that "hole" to make olives.

Punch a "bite" out of the pizza with a small scallop punch.

Congratulations Grad

May is a very busy month with Mother's Day, Graduations and lots and lots of Birthdays! 

This is a graduation card I made for the young lady that was the recipient of the Graduations Owls I made for her to put in with her Graduation Announcements.  If you missed that post, you can see it HERE.  When we went out Wednesday night for pizza where she works, she handed us her Graduation Announcement with her picture.  On the back was the little owl! 

Recipe:

Call Me Clover - 4 1/4" x 11", scored and folded at 5 1/2"
Crushed Curry - 4" x 5 1/4"
Whisper White Thick Cardstock - 3 7/8" x 5 1/8"

I cut the letters out individually so that I could squeeze them together as much as possible.  Figures they were all wide letters.  I'm so sad these letters are retiring.  If you don't have them yet, be sure to snag them before they are all gone!

The "congratulations" is stamped with VersaMark onto Vellum Cardstock and heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder.

The 2019 is from Make A Difference - a Photopolymer Set that is not retiring!  Yayy!

The letters are popped up with Foam Adhesive Strips.  I like them instead of Dimensionals since they are a little taller and give more depth.

Great Minds - Great Team Mates

Today's card features a member of my Stamps Well With Others Team - Marie Colby.  We were both in our weSTAMP Team swaps on Monday, but we weren't in the same exchange.  There were 18 total swappers, so to make it a little easier, each person only had to make 9 swaps and then we were randomly selected and were swapped with 8 others.

Marie lives in Colorado now, so we don't communicate as often as we did before, but apparently we're still connected on ideas.  This is Marie's card... notice the fold design?  It's the Dutch Door turned the other direction!  Is that awesome, same as mine!  Love it!

I love the colors she used and look at that fish, wouldn't you love to catch that beauty?  Ok well, maybe not you, but I bet you know someone who would!

Dutch Door Swap Card

This is the card I made for our Team Swap on Monday night.  I first made this on April 25th and decided I wanted to make it for my swap.  Boy was that a LOT of work, but worth it because I'm really happy with how it came out.  You can see the original card HERE.

Recipe Measurements:
Base - Real Red - 8" x 7 1/8" - see below for template for folding and cutting

Whisper White:
3 3/4" x 3" - front panel
4 1/4" x 3 1/2" inside panel
1 7/8" x 1 1/2" (cut four) small panels

Basic Black:
4" x 3 1/4" - front panel
4 1/2" x 3 3/4" - inside panel
2 1/8" x 1 3/4" (cut four) small panels
3 3/4" x 2 1/8" (cut 2) inside and outside vertical panels

Designer Series Paper - Classic Garage (retiring - grab it soon if you like it!)
3 1/2" x 1 7/8" (cut 2) inside and outside vertical panels

I love that this stamp set is carrying over and that it has so many great stamps to fill all the panels.  So fun!

Start with a piece of cardstock - 8" x 7 1/8"

On the 8" side, score at 2" and 6", then turn to the left (counter clockwise) and score at 2 3/8" from top to bottom.  Turn all the way around and score at 2 3/8" but only to the 2" and 6" scores you made first.  See Below.

The panels with the X on them, you will remove completely, just snip them out.  Be careful to snip the correct ones... ask me how I know.  LOL

This is how it will look when it is cut and scored.

Then add the panels that are made with the Whisper White and Basic Black.

I'd love to see some of the ideas that you come up with!
