Sponged Emboss Resist with Garden in Bloom

I picked up this technique from Angie Leach.  I added some ribbon and changed up the sentiments as well as the measurements, but the technique is what makes the card.  Thank you Angie!  Great fast, fun card!

Recipe:
Base:  Whisper White - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
Mat:  Island Indigo - 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"
Top:  Soft Sky - 4 7/8" x 3 5/8"

Mat:  Hello Honey - 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"
Top: So Saffron - 4 7/8" x 3 5/8"

Play with different color combinations to see what you like.  These are the two I have so far.

Begin with your lightest color and stamp the outline flower from Garden in Bloom with VersaMark and then use our White Embossing powder and heat gun to set up the powder.
Tip from Angie:  For even spacing, stamp the images across the card stock diagonally, then fill in the outer edges following the same diagonal slant.

For the Soft Sky / Island Indigo card begin by lightly sponging the Soft Sky into the petals, then add Island Indigo to the centers and just the inside centers of the petals.  I used our Sponge Daubers for easy sponging.

For the So Saffron / Hello Honey cards, I used So Saffron ink and Delightful Dijon for a darker inside.

To make the banner, I used a one inch strip of Whisper White and punched the end before stamping my sentiment.  I wanted just a small border, so I cut another strip of 1 1/8".  The next size on the Banner Punch is 1 1/2" but all you have to do is center your strip between the markers and you'll be just fine.

Remember the bunny announcing "it's a girl!"?  Well, here is the "boy" version.  To see the first edition, check HERE.

I just love this darling bunny.  Although, I'm working on a project now that's requiring cutting this little darlin' out, so I may feel differently when I'm finished fussy cutting - LOL!

Vellum Butterflies

I spotted this beautiful card by Deb Valder and fell in love with it!  I just knew I had to make some and now I want to make even more.  Aren't they beautiful?  I changed up the sentiment - nearly anything will work with this card and I changed up the gold by adding the Gold Sequins.  Deb used the Gold Dazzling Details.  Thanks Deb for the great card idea!  I love it!

I started with Whisper White card stock cut at 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4".  The Pistachio Pudding layer is 5" x 3 3/4" and the top layer of Whisper White is 4 7/8" x 3 5/8".

I stamped the two flowers from Painted Petals with Strawberry Slush and the leaves in Pistachio Pudding.

The butterfly is attached down the middle with two small glue dots and left loose everywhere else.  Add a pretty bow using Strawberry Slush Thick Baker's Twine and sequins trimmed off the Gold Sequin Trim with a dot of Liquid Tombo (aka Green Glue).

I also added Stampin' Dimensionals under the Pistachio layer to pop it up from the main card base.

Being Whisper White, there's plenty of room on the inside to write a nice letter or note to someone special or just as a simple thank you or hello.

Thank you for looking in today.  It's FRIDAY!!

Something to Say with A Dozen Thoughts

I needed an Anniversary card for a friend the other day and decided to play with my Beautifully Baroque embossing folder.  I thought I'd try both sides of the folder to see which way looks best and I have to say, I think they both look pretty good.  You should be able to click on the pictures to make them bigger to see for yourself.

Can you see the difference?  Which one do you prefer?

The outside sentiment is from A Dozen Thoughts (w-131056 / c-131059) and the inside sentiments are from Something to Say (w-134177 / c-134180) and Teeny Tiny Wishes (w-128748 / c- 127802).

The ribbon is retired, but you can use any ribbon that goes with your color scheme or just  your favorite ribbon or twine.
