Oops, I Did It Wrong!

Have you ever had trouble getting a card design to come together where you liked it?  We have these great ideas and sometimes they just don't gel like they should.  But you keep working on it, moving papers here and there, punch out a heart, a circle, a word but it just isn't happening.

So you say, OK, this is what it's going to be, I'll just have to deal with it later.  Maybe I'll come up with a better idea tomorrow.  Done.

and then....

you open the card, and it won't open.  Ohhhh NOOO!

THIS is a sign you were right, it isn't the card you wanted it to be and THIS proves it!

Sharing Swaps from Team Meeting

I promised to share the other swaps we received at our weSTAMP Team Meeting on Monday.  The first two tied for first place.  They were my two favorites as well - it was really hard to decide who to vote on this week!

Susanna lives out of state but still participates in our swaps by mailing them to Lorri.  That's amazing to me since I'm usually still thinking of what to make by the time she's mailing them!

Language of Love - made by Linda Rodenberg

Lorri Heiling (my upline) - features two items from the Sale-a-Bration brochure - Banner Blast and the Banner Punch - you can earn both free.  Each $50 allows you to choose one item from Sale-a-Bration

I don't know who the next two cards were made by, so ladies, if you check my blog, let me know so I can give you proper credit!

What Every Woman Wants

Monday night was our Team Meeting and Swap.  Here is the card I submitted for this month's swap.  Each month we vote on our favorite and I've been fortunate to win several of them, but it wasn't this month.  It was really HARD to choose the winner this month, there were so many great entries!  I'll share pictures of the others tomorrow.  You're going to love them too!

This card has a simple look to it, and it was easy to do, but it did take some extra time as you can see, I embossed the stamp with VersaMark and Gold Embossing Powder.  So pretty!  The lipstick is colored with Real Red Stampin' Write Marker.

Stamps Well With Others Recipe:

Card Stock:  Real Red, Whisper White
Stamp Set:  Making a Point (Hostess Set)
Ink:  VersaMark
Designer Paper:  Gold Foil Sheets (132622), Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum (133363)
Extras:  Ovals Collection Framelits (129381), Gold Baker's Twine (132975), Gold Embossing Powder.

Thanks for looking in today - be sure to check back tomorrow for the other swaps from Monday's Team Meeting.

Best Buds

Isn't this just a cute little card?  When I spotted this stamp in the Occasions Catalog as one of the Hostess Sets, I just knew it would make some really cute cards!  The set is called Making a Point and only Stampin' Up! Hostesses can earn this set.  You don't even have to clean your house or have friends over to stamp (although that's where the fun is!) to earn this set.  You could have an online party and your friends can shop at their leisure and you can still earn this set.  Let me know if you are interested.  I'd love to help you get some free stamps!

On to the card.

Stamps Well With Others Recipe:

Tonight is our monthly Team Meeting, so I'm excited to see the girls again after the holidays.  Tomorrow I'll post the card I made for our swap.  Can't give it away early!

Thanks for looking in.  Have a great week.

Quick and Easy Thank You

With the idea of more Photopoly stamps coming from Stampin' Up! I decided to get one of my favorite ones, Another Thank You, out and play.  I stamped it with VersaMark and then embossed with White Embossing Powder (109132) using the Heat Tool (129053) to bring it to a shiny finish.  I only wish you could see it in the picture.  The paper used is the In Color DSP - Crisp Cantaloupe, another of my favorite colors to use.

Thank you for looking in today.  You can find any of the products listed by clicking on the links above or by shopping at my online store .  As always, if I can answer any questions, please contact me.

Have a blessed Sunday.

I Lava You

Today is Hubby's and My Anniversary.  So I finally was able to use this great stamp since we're both from the Lava Lamp age.  Mine was blue, but that wouldn't be a very good Anniversary do you think?  So, Real Red it is.

My original idea was to use the dotted paper but it was way too busy looking, so I flipped it over and used the big circles side.  Much better, don't you think?  The cute little dots were used on the envelope flap instead.  It looks really pretty there!

Stamps Well With Others Recipe:

Card Stock:: Whisper White, Real Red
DSP:  Polka Dot Parade (126902)
Stamps:  Crazy, Mixed-Up Love (w-131068 / c-131071)
Ink:  Real Red

This is a cute little set that's really affordable, even in wood.  I'm a woodie (meaning, I prefer our WOOD stamps compared to the Clear Mount Stamps, which aren't really clear), but there are some changes coming to Stampin' Up! and I couldn't be more excited about them.  I'll give up being a woodie for the changes ahead!

Stampin' Up! will soon be making their own Photopolymer CLEAR Stamps in their Kanab, Utah plant.  We should start seeing more of them in the future and I'm hoping you'll love them as much as I do.  If you purchased any that we have so far, you'll know how clean and crisp they stamp, they are fabulous.  But, you also probably noticed they had a bit of a strong odor to the... Peee-Ewww!  The new stamps will not have that obnoxious odor, better yet, I hear they will smell like chocolate cherry!  Yum!!

So, keep your eyes open for more information about the CLEAR Photopolymer Stamps.  I'll be sharing every tidbit I can when I hear about them!

Thanks for looking in today... Have a wonderful Friday and a great weekend!

Paint Chip Ombre Look with Sale-a-Bration Sneak Peeks

This beautiful look comes from Angie Leach, she CASEd it from Leadership and I'm CASEing it from her!  I loved it at first site and knew I had to give it a try.  Now I need to buy more Raspberry Ripple since I want to make MORE of these.  Thank you to Angie for sharing her find.

The card starts with a base of Raspberry Ripple and then a layer of Whisper White measuring 5 1/4" x 4".  The strips are all 3 3/4" long with the following widths:  Raspberry Ripple 1 3/4", Strawberry Slush 1 1/4", Crisp Canteloupe 1" and Primrose Petals 3/4".

The panels are embossed with the Decorative Dots embossing folder - available FREE beginning January 28th during Sale-a-Bration.  The stamps used are also from the Sale-a-Bration flyer called You're Lovely.  I stamped it with Raspberry Ripple and then watercolored with Crisp Canteloupe and Raspberry Ripple.  It is cut out using the Deco Labels Collection and then cutting a larger Deco Label from Vellum Card Stock.

Now that the pictures are posted, I see I forgot to add some bling to the middle of the flowers, so just pretend they are there!  Beautiful!

Have fun playing with this one using other color combinations.  So many options that will all look great with Stampin' Up! and coordinating colors.

Thanks for stopping in today.  I hope you have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Birthday Wishes Butterfly

This one was a little tricky, but I figured it out!  If you're familiar with the embossing folder here, you'll notice the fancy fan is turned a different direction.  Since I wanted the fan scallop to match up with the scallop punch I had to punch the scallop first and then lay the card stock into the embossing folder.  I'm really pleased with how it turned out.  Once that was figured out, the rest was easy and quick to put together.

Masculine Monday

I saw these great little wrenches on Pinterest, by Jessica Lewis, and just had to have a go at them.  There are actually two versions, but I like the first one you see here best.  It was my second attempt.  In my first attempt, the wrenches were too small and I didn't have enough of a border with the basic black.

Let me know what you think, which do you prefer?

These were very easy to make and it's one of those things that makes me think "why didn't I think of that!?"  Good grief, I used to be married to a mechanic, something so cute never crossed my mind.  That is certainly the great thing about sharing with so many other talented women (and men) who create with Stampin' Up!

Yeah, this one doesn't do a thing for me, ugh!  What was I thinking?  LOL

Here are the measurements for making the wrench - the larger one in the first card above.  Start with a 3 1/2" x 1/2" strip of Basic Gray.  First punch the itty bitty scallop and the punch over that scallop with the 3/4" Circle Punch.  Punch the 1" Circle and the attaching it to a post-it note slip it into the Word Window Punch to make the open end of the wrench.

Notice the little snippet taken from the end of the 3 1/2" strip?  I punched it with the 3/4" circle, just to keep the end of the strip from showing under the small scalloped end.

Ink:  Basic Black, Basic Gray, Real Red
Stamps:  You're My Hero (w-130306 / c-130309)

Extras:  Chevron Embossing Folder (127749), 3/8" Glimmer Brads Basics (121003)

Happy Sneak Peek

Don't you just love the color combination here?  It's bright and uplifting.  The color and layout idea comes from Julie Davison.  My measurements are a little different, as is the ribbon and the tag, but at quick glance they look very much the same.  Thanks Julie for the inspiration!

The great dotted texture is a little sneak peek into Sale-a-Bration that begins January 28th.

Happy Congratulations

These cards use several items from the Occasions Catalog.  I think these lanterns from Happy Congratulations are so pretty and can be used with any color combination imaginable. For these two cards I used three of the colors from the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Papers - Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango and Gumball Green.

The cute tag is made using one of the new punches from the Occasions Catalog.  This one is the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch (133324) and is tied up with Daffodil Delight 1/2" Seam Binding (125583)

Pansy Punch Birthday

I spotted this card on Pinterest but changed it up a bit.  The original used a lighter pink, and I used Crisp Canteloupe.  The Happy Birthday is stamped with Metallic Gold Encore Ink (132141).  It looks so much prettier in real life.  The gold ink is especially beautiful on the Whisper White card stock.

Watercolor Wonder Designer Note Cards

Have you noticed the Watercolor Wonder Designer Note Cards and Envelopes in the Spring Occasions Catalog?  They can be found on page 22 and are absolutely beautiful.  They are printed with the designs shown below and the card stock is watercolor card stock, so you're ready stamp and color away!

Note cards are typically smaller than your regular A-2 sized card.  Note cards are 5" x 3 1/2" where a standard A-2 card is 5 1/2 x 4 1/4.  You can see the size difference below.  Note cards are perfect for those little notes to someone special instead of having too much writing space to fill in.

Here's my first one using the card set.  I am really happy with how easy it was to do but looks like it took forever.

I stamped the flowers from Happy Watercolor (w-133188 / c-133191) using Black StazOn and colored in with our Aqua Painter and ink from the lids of our stamp pads.

Stamps Well With Others Recipe:

Watercolor Wonder Designer Note Cards & Envelopes (133362)
Watercolor Paper card stock (for sentiment)
Stamps:  Happy Watercolor (w-133188 / c-133191)
Ink:  Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Old Olive, Black StazOn
Punch:  Large Oval (119855)

You can find everything you need to make this card on my website HERE.  If I can help you with anything, please let me know.  You can email me at StampsWellWithOthers@gmail.com.
