Time To Celebrate!

More new stamps arrived at my house Thursday!  Yayyy!!!  That is definitely a reason to celebrate as well as this card to celebrate a special birthday!

I made two versions in playing with my new stamps and paper.  Which one do you like best? 

This first one uses a base of Whisper White Cardstock and a layer of Pool Party and two types of ribbon / thread.

This one uses a base of Pool Party, a layer of Whisper White and another layer of Pool Party.  I have to say, this one is my favorite.  I like the extra white layer and adding a white layer inside for stamping.

The stamp set used is Party with Cake and there are so many cute sayings there.  I can't wait to use more of them, which you will see coming up very soon.

A Little Sumthin' Patriotic

I spotted someone making Fireworks with the Too Kind stamp set and even though I had planned on getting this set, this prompted me to get it sooner.  Of course, I wanted to be sure it carried over into this year's catalog first.  SOOO glad that it did!

 

This was very, very easy to put together.  I do have to tell you, this is my 2nd attempt at these two cards.  I originally made the card with our Metallic Silver ink.  Let me just say DON'T DO IT! unless you plan to use some silver emboss.  The stuff just doesn't dry and will smudge, making you very unhappy!

 

Instead, I used Smoky Slate and added some glimmer with Dazzling Details. 

 



 

 

I was thrilled to find "Hooray Hoorah!" for the inside.  It seemed like a perfect stamp, don't you think?

Celebrate Today

Here is another card using Smoky Slate and this time, Crushed Curry.  The yellow and gray combination is just so pretty!  This pattern comes from Dawn Olchefske.  I just love following her blog and getting great ideas!  Thanks Dawn!

We start with a base card of Smoky Slate - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4".  The Whisper White layer is 5 1/4" x 4".

I then used the Hexagon Punch to punch out Smoky Slate and Eastern Elegance Designer Series Paper.  Place as shown on the picture above, or make your own pattern.

The Whisper White layer is then wrapped with 5/8" Organza Ribbon.  Add some bling (Rhinestone Basic Jewels) and you're all set.  Attach to the card base and stamp with your greeting of choice.  I chose "Celebrate Today" from the Perfectly Penned set as this was an Anniversary card for some friends.
