Lemon Cart

I spotted the idea for today's card on Brian King's blog and knew I had to make it!  Thank you Brian!  I had a couple of little changes, but the credit goes to Brian for sure!

When I purchased the Let the Good Times Roll Bundle, I really liked the cute drink cart, then when I spotted it being used by Brian, I knew just what needed to be done.

Recipe:
Daffodil Delight - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Basic Black - 5 1/4" x 4"
Daffodil Delight 5 1/8" x 3 7/8" - stamped with Daffodil Delight Lemon Slices
Flirty Flamingo - 4" x 3" (soon to retire, so grab it before it's gone!)
Basic Black - 3 5/8" x 2 5/8"
Whisper White 3 1/2" x 2 1/2"

Stamps:
Let the Good Times Roll
Lemon Zest

Ink:
Memento Black
Daffodil Delight
Soft Suede
Flirty Flamingo

Start by stamping the sentiment and cart on the Whisper White piece.  I used Memento Black and Soft Suede.

Then stamp the cart again in Daffodil Delight and Flirty Flamingo on a scrap of Whisper White.  You only need to stamp the parts you need in those colors since you will be fussy cutting them.

Clearly, I needed to add more ink to Flirty Flamingo.  It's that time of year, when I like to re-ink my pads, make them all new again for the new catalog year.

After you fussy cut the awning and lemonade glasses, the best way to put them onto the cart is to put the adhesive onto where you will be placing the cut piece.  See below for placing the heart.  The heart is punched from the Cookie Cutter Builder punch.

First add the glue - just a tiny dot (above) and then add the heart (below).

A little tip I wanted to share again.  I've shared before, but it's a good one to remember.  If you decide to add something more to the inside of the card, but you've already adhered it to the base, simply use some post it notes to cover the base and stamp away.

Perfect!

Thank you for looking in today.  It's finally Friday!!!

Tutti-Frutti Meets Lemon Zest

With the crazy warm weather we are having in Phoenix, it won't be long until the citrus trees start to blossom around here, so I thought it would be fun to dig out the Lemon Zest and the great citrusy paper in Tutti-Frutti.

Recipe:

Whisper White Thick cardstock - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Basic Black - 4 3/4" x 3 1/2
Tutti-Frutti Designer Series Paper - 4 5/8" x 3 3/8"
Basic Black - 4 1/8" x 1 3/8"
Tutti-Frutti - Designer Series Paper - 4" x 1 1/4"
Whisper White - Stitched Shapes
Basic Black - Layering Circles

Stamps:  Lemon Zest
Ink: Peekaboo Peach

Inside I decided to layer up with more color and add another piece of the pretty Tutti-Frutti DSP

Tutti-Frutti - 5 1/4" x 4"
Whisper White - 5" x 3 3/4"

I also added a strip of leftover Tutti-Frutti.

Don't forget to dress up the envelope flap!

Thank you for looking in today!  Remember to fly your flags today - It's President's Day!

Quote By Kazoo

Ok, I have to start today's post with a little background information.   My latest obsession, which keeps me from adopting a houseful of kittens, is to watch Kitten Academy on YouTube.  I discovered them in April 2017 and was instantly hooked.  Kitten Academy is a Foster Home that takes in pregnant cats so they have a safe place to have and raise their kittens and new mom cats with their babies.  It is Kitten Academy - Where Kittens Learn to Cat.  I love that!

The kittens are raised with a lot of human contact, contact with other adult cats (the faculty) and even a big gorgeous dog (who is also part of the faculty).  They learn about loud real life noises like television / radio.  When they graduate (go to the vet for spay or neuter), they are then eligible to be adopted through On Angels Wings in Illinois.

So much more to say about them, but their website Kitten.Academy will tell and show you so much more.  Check out their pictures and faculty.

So, now, on to the reason for today's card.  One of the recent graduates, Kazoo, had a favorite place to sit while at the Kitten Academy and it was called "the Contemplation Station" (shown below with Kazoo contemplating).  His future fur-ever Dad was always doing fun things with this picture and this was a recent one.

So of course, I asked Kazoo if I could quote him and he said YES!  SO, here is his card, with quote inside.  You probably knew this was going to be a Lemon Zest card!

Recipe:

Daffodil Delight - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Old Olive - 5 3/8" x 4 1/8"
Whisper White - 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"

Stamps:  Lemon Zest

I stamped the slice in Daffodil Delight, stamped off once, then 2 or 3 times onto the Whisper White to make the background.

The full lemon is stamped with Crushed Curry onto Crushed Curry cardstock and the leaves Old Olive onto Old Olive cardstock, then punched out with the matching Lemon Punch.

I took Kazoo's quote and typed it up in a Word document, then just worked with the margins and spacing to get it where I wanted it.

Thank you for looking in today.  Be sure to check out Kitten Academy.  If you love cats and kittens, you'll fall in love too!

Happy Tuesday To You!

Chuck Those Lemons

So, I bet you think the rest of the sentiment below is "make lemonade".  If you did, you'd be wrong!  I was wrong... When I first saw the set, I was certain that would be the ending.  Instead it says something much more fun!

HERE is the ending sentiment below.  Isn't that great?  I sure thought so.  With any luck when  you chuck them back, you'll hit something that will make you feel better!  Revenge is sweet, or in this case sour!

Below is a different angle so you can see why the added lemon is so bright.  I stamped it on Glossy White cardstock and then stamped the sentiment with Momento Black.  It's amazing how quickly it dries on the Glossy cardstock.

I also did one on the inside.  After seeing how shiny and pretty it was on the front, I was afraid a regular lemon inside would be dull.

Recipe:
Daffodil Delight - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Basic Black - 5 1/4" x 4"
Whisper White - 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"

Inside: Whisper White 5 1/4" x 4"

Randomly stamp the full lemon - once or twice with one inking, then stamp off the rest so that there is only bold lemon.

Thank you for looking in today!  Have a blessed Sunday!
