Heavenly Birthday

Today my Mother would be celebrating her 95th Birthday!  Oh how I wish she was here so we could celebrate it together.  I miss her so much.

Mom loved roses and I just know she would have loved this one.  Although I've probably posted this one before, and it's not a Birthday Card... it's a Thank You card, to my Sweet Mom for the life I had with her and Dad.  I'm so very thankful they were able to adopt me from the day I was born and gave me a life filled with love and wonderful memories.

I love you Mom!  Happy Heavenly Birthday!

Retirement Wishes

At work, we're very fortunate to have a Walgreens Pharmacy as well as an on duty nurse that takes care of all of our aches, pains and illnesses.  She's rescue me a couple of times with a rash and antibiotics when needed.  But this week I learned she's retiring (as of yesterday, Friday) so of course I had to make her a pretty card.  I was lucky enough to give it to her in person.

Recipe:
Blushing Bride - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Blushing Bride Designer Series Paper - 2" x 5 1/2"
Soft Sea Foam - 3 1/4" x 4"
Whisper White - 3" x 3 3/4"
Whisper White - 4" x 5 1/4" (inside panel)

Stamps:  Beautiful Friendship
Inks:  Blushing Bride, Soft Sea Foam, Daffodil Delight
Punch:  Story Label
Trim:  3/16" Braided Linen Trim

Thank you for looking in today!  Happy Saturday!

Cozy Craft Swap Card

I made 32 of these!  I think that's the largest quantity of one card I've ever made.  Granted, it was just a card front, so that saved on cardstock by a LOT.

This was for our card swap at the Cozy Craft Retreat.  We only needed 29 of them, but 32 is divisible by 4 (4 per piece of card stock) so I just rounded up.

Recipe:
Whisper White Thick cardstock - 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Cherry Cobbler - 3 3/4" x 5"
Whisper White - 3 1/2" x 4 3/4"

Stamps:  God's Peace
Ink: Memento Black
Stampin' Blends: Cherry Cobbler Combo, Old Olive Combo, Petal Pink (candle), Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody.

I punched opposite corners with the Detailed Trio Punch

After coloring, I added Wink of Stella around the flame.

Thank you for looking in today!  Happy Friday!

Itty Bitty Christmas Tree

I really like this fun card.  It was fast and easy and didn't have to be perfectly placed.  A little unbalance makes it more creative.

Recipe:
Very Vanilla - 4 1/4" x 11", scored and folded at 5 1/2"
Cherry Cobbler - 4" x 5 1/4" - embossed with Subtles 3D embossing folder
Very Vanilla - enough to stamp all the sentiments
Early Espresso - 1/8" x 5" (apx.) for tree trunk
5/8" Burlap Ribbon - 2 inches then trimmed to make a "tree planter"
3/16" Braided Linen Trim - tied into a bow

Stamp selected sentiments from Itty Bitty Christmas.  Cut into strips and then trim to different lengths to shape into a tree.

Think how pretty this would be using Mossy Meadow instead of the Cherry Cobbler, or mixing them together!

Thank you for looking in today!  It's almost Friday!

Please ignore that my stamping inside was a bit crooked... I was out of my stamping element (aka I was standing instead of sitting!).

Boo To You

Even though I don't send out Halloween cards, I still love how fun they are.  Check this card we made at our Cozy Craft Retreat.

Recipe:
Basic Black - 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Pumpkin Pie - 4" x 5 1/4" - embossed with Brick and Mortar 3D folder
Basic Black - 2 7/8" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Very Vanilla - 2 5/8" x 4"
Monster Bash Designer Series Paper - 2 5/8" x 4" (library books)

Using Memento Black stamp pad, stamp onto Very Vanilla then color and fussy cut the zombie from Boo To You.

Using an exacto knife and cutting mat, cut out one of the library books.  Adhere the remainder of the paper onto the front of the small Basic Black, then pop up the cut out book with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Stamp the spider web from Wonderfully Wicked and cut out the spider from Wicked Dies (purchase as a bundle and save!).  Pop the spider up with a Stampin' Dimensional.

Thank you for looking in today.  I've got so much more to show you from our past weekend, come back tomorrow for more!

No Power, No Post.

Our power went out at 6:30 pm with a Big Bang Thunderstorm Monday night and didn’t make on again until 10:30 pm. By then it was hot and muggy and I was ready for a good nights’ sleep!

It was nice having a good rain though.

Posting from my tablet and fluffy pillow!

Cozy Craft Retreat

Oh my goodness, we had the BEST weekend of crafting and fun.  I can't tell you enough how much fun it is to be part of a team such as ours.  SO. MUCH. FUN!

Join my team and next year you can attend with us!  It's more fun as a demonstrator!

This was just one of the classes I signed up for and I just wanted to share it first because it is so awesome!

Thank you to Gina S. for creating this project and for making the amazing "Keurig" machine that goes in the middle.  She had the "coffee tank gauge" (upper left corner) and the bag of coffee beans (lower right corner) premade for us.

This fits into a 12" x 12" shadow box frame.  Thank you to Linda W. for picking up an extra frame for me.  I love it!

We had the chance to order matching Cozy Craft Retreat shirts.  Here we are showing off our shirts.

Here is the room before we all arrived.  We all got these wonderful bags that held our project kits and extra supplies.  So Nice!

Here's mine!  Thank you Lorri - this weekend was so much fun!

Thank you for looking in today.  Come back for more photos and projects we made.

~ Happy Monday!

A Good Man

It's birthday time for Uncle Lou and I've been anxious to make this card for his birthday.  Of course, he's nothing like this guy in the chair, as a matter of fact, this week he and my Aunt Erica have been biking (bicycle, not motorcycle) across parts of Pennsylvania.  These two don't sit still, that is for sure!  So, maybe he'll like this relaxing guy for when they return home!

Recipe:
Mossy Meadow - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper - 2 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Old Olive - Stitched Rectangles - 2 5/8" x 4"
Whisper White - Stitched Rectangles - 2 1/4" x 3 1/2"
Whisper White - 4" x 5 1/4" (inside panel)

Stamps: A Good Man
Ink:  Memento Black

Thank you for looking in today!  Happy Friday!

I'm off to stamp with friends for the weekend!  Wooo Hooo!

Sympathy with Beautiful Friendship

Sadly today I needed to make another sympathy card.  This time for a former co-worker who retired a couple of years ago lost her husband this week.  It breaks my heart that this happens.  We work and work and when we can finally retire, one of the spouses passes away before they can enjoy retirement together.  It just seems so unfair.

Recipe:
Highland Heather - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Whisper White - 4" x 5 1/4"
Whisper White - 4" x 5 1/4" (inside panel)
Whisper White scrap for outside sentiment.

Stamps: Beautiful Friendship and Here's A Card
Ink:  Balmy Blue, Highland Heather, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz

Thank you for looking in today.  Tomorrow I finish packing and getting ready for Friday morning and a weekend of stamping and friends.  I'm not going to take my laptop with me this time, so no posts over the weekend, but come back on Monday and I should have some things to post.

Have a Great Weekend!
