Wicked Fun Card

How about a Wickedly Fun card for Halloween.  This is another card we made at Cozy Craft Retreat.

Start with a base card 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4.  Then on the front of the card, you're going to cut off 2 1/8" from the top, so that you only have the bottom half of the front of the card.

Monster Bash Designer Series Paper - 2 3/4" x 4" - Die Cut with Wicked Dies (save all the little pieces and yes, the DSP will probably be in two main pieces also.)

Pumpkin Pie - 2 1/2" x 4" - emboss with Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder
Pumpkin Pie - 2 1/2" x 4" - stamp with sentiment and a spooky spider from Wonderfully Wicked

To re-assemble the top piece start by attaching the piece with liquid glue above "wicked", then without any adhesive, lay the cut out "wicked" where it would fit.  Then attach the bottom piece below the "wicked" with liquid glue.  (In case you haven't heard it before, Liquid Glue or "green glue" as many of us call it - coming in the Green Bottle", is my favorite form of adhesive.)

The cutting small strips of the Foam Adhesive Strips and placing them on the back side of "wicked", then carefully lower it into place.  You can use Dimensionals if you wish, but I recommend doubling them so it's nice and tall.  remember to piece of DSP that would be inside the "d" and "e" as well.  Though it looks like I lost my "e" insides. 

Attach your Pumpkin Pie cardstock along the bottom of the card, stamp your spider and using a ruler or piece of paper as a guide, draw a straight line.

Cut a piece of Basic Black 3/8" Scalloped Edge Ribbon - about 12 inches and wrap it around the other piece of Pumpkin Pie that has been embossed with the Stylish Scroll and tie a knot.  Cut out your picture of choice from the Monster Bash DSP and place it over the ribbon with Dimensionals.

Triangle Treat Boxes

I saw these Triangle Treat Boxes on Angie Leach's blog and knew I had to make them.  I decided to make mine as Halloween Treats, but I see Christmas and Valentine's versions in my future.  They really are very easy to make and are so cute!  

Inside I've placed a treat size Payday and 2 Reeses' mini cups.

Begin with a piece of cardstock - 7" x 9 3/4".

Along the 7" side score at 2" and 5"
Along the 9 3/4" side score at 1 3/4", 4 1/4" and 7 1/4"

Cut out the pieces where the "X" is marked.

It will look like this when scored and cut.  (Please ignore the "oops" score line).  The two small sides that are sticking out will need to be scored at an angle for folding.  You can't see it well in this picture but there's a small pencil mark at 1 1/2" marking the middle of each area.

Place the mark on your trimmer and using the scoring piece, score from that dot to the corner as shown in the picture below.

When finished, you'll have 4 marks, 2 on each in the shape of a triangle.

Using the corner trio punch, round the corners on the long end. This will be the flap the closes over the front.

Using your bone folder, crease each score line with a nice crisp fold.

Place Tear and Tape on the two corners towards the non-rounded flap.

Bring that front flap up to the adhesive and making sure it is lined up, press it down.  Do this on both sides.

Now, to decorate!  Pick your Designer Series Paper - I used Monster Bash from the 2019 Holiday Catalog.  Cut two pieces 2 3/4" x 2 1/4" and one piece 2 3/4" x 1 1/2".  Round the corners of the 1 1/2" piece.

Before you attach the DSP, you'll want to add some magnets.  I've only been able to find them online and thankfully I had some from previous projects.  There are two sizes.  If you can find the small ones I think they will be better, but the larger ones work just fine.  They are by Basic Grey.

I attached the one with the "negative" on first.  Peel off the sticker and place it where you will want it to be on your box.  You can place it inside or outside.  Outside it will be covered with the DSP.

To place the "positive" you will need to use glue dots on the side that does not have the "+" sticker.  Make sure before you add the glue dots, see how they stick together, just in case.

These are nice and strong and will hold it together quite well.

Using liquid glue or Tear and Tape, place the DSP onto the box.   I also had some "Wobble" springs and cut out pieces from the DSP 

Add some ribbon and you're done!  Well, after you fill them with goodies of course!

Boo To You

Even though I don't send out Halloween cards, I still love how fun they are.  Check this card we made at our Cozy Craft Retreat.

Recipe:
Basic Black - 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Pumpkin Pie - 4" x 5 1/4" - embossed with Brick and Mortar 3D folder
Basic Black - 2 7/8" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Very Vanilla - 2 5/8" x 4"
Monster Bash Designer Series Paper - 2 5/8" x 4" (library books)

Using Memento Black stamp pad, stamp onto Very Vanilla then color and fussy cut the zombie from Boo To You. 

Using an exacto knife and cutting mat, cut out one of the library books.  Adhere the remainder of the paper onto the front of the small Basic Black, then pop up the cut out book with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Stamp the spider web from Wonderfully Wicked and cut out the spider from Wicked Dies (purchase as a bundle and save!).  Pop the spider up with a Stampin' Dimensional.

Sunburst Halloween Card

At our team meeting last month we had a wonderful Christmas Card using this Sunburst technique.  I loved it so much I decided it needed to be used with other papers as well, so here is my Halloween version.

Recipe - 
Granny Apple Green - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Whisper White - 5 1/4" x 4" (2 - one outside under the strips and one inside)
Designer Series Paper - Toil & Trouble (or your choice for your card)

• 4 strips - 6" x 1 1/2" then cut diagonally from corner to corner

On the Whisper White (outside piece) make a light pencil line dividing the cardstock in half horizontally.  This is where you start attaching the triangles you made - from cutting the strips diagonally.

Lay your DSP out the way you want it to be sure of color mixture and contrast, then attach the strips to the Whisper White.  Be careful that no glue or adhesive gets onto the part of the strip that hangs off the edge of the cardstock because you will be using the pieces in just a bit.

After they are all attached, turn over and trim with your snips all the excess pieces.  Use the biggest pieces to fill in the last of the card at the corner.  On this card that would be the purple stripe at the top and the green and white dots at the bottom.

Die cut a circle with the stitched shapes dies, add your sentiment and place it on the card with just a bit hanging over the Whisper White.  Trim that off for a flat edge and then attach to the Granny Apple Green base.

Decorate and stamp the inside and you're ready to go!

I stamped a bunch of this cute little elephant who thinks he's a bat and then stamped the little pumpkin off the edge of his trunk.  Instead of fussy cutting, I used my Brother Scan n' Cut and they were cut out in a flash!

I colored him with Smoky Slate light Stampin' Blends and Granny Apple Green for his wings, mask and toenails!
