A Step Away from Christmas

Butterfly Gala in Black and White
In thinking back, I don't know that I've ever done a card that is just Black and White. This Botanical Butterfly designer series paper makes it look beautiful.
I know I've done this paper before and just colored a little, but this time, no coloring.
Recipe:
Basic Black - 4 1/4" x 11", scored and folded at 5 1/2"
Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper - 4" x 4"
Whisper White - 1" x 5 1/4"
Basic Black - 1/2" x 5" - using your paper snips to put a v-cut in the ends
Basic Black - 1 1/4" x 3 1/4"
Whisper White - 1" x 3" - for Sentiment
Whisper White - 4" x 5 1/4" for inside panel
Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon - for knot on the front. (I had planned to use black and white gingham ribbon, then realized we only have Night of Navy.)
I added some Rhinestone Basic Jewels to sparkle up the front a bit and I popped up the sentiments with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Big Gingham or Little Gingham?
Which do you like best, the one with big gingham squares or little gingham squares. At first I preferred the little ones the most, and I think I still do, but the big squares don't look too bad either.
Recipe:
Highland Heather - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Gingham Gala - Highland Heather - 4" x 5 1/4"
Botanical Butterfly - die cut with Layering Circles
Basic Black - die cut with Layering Circles scallop
Botanical Butterfly punched with Butterfly Duet Punch
Whisper White - 4" x 5 1/4" - inside panel
I added a small leftover piece of the Gingham Gala inside to add a little extra color.
Thank you for looking in today. I will probably be spending the day with Icy Hot. On Saturday my youngest son came over and we (mostly he) cut down all the overgrowth of small trees that were taking over a part of the yard where they didn't belong. Then we dragged it all around to the front of the house for bulk trash pick up. I've found muscles I didn't know I had and they all hurt! LOL

Gorgeous Grape Butterflies
This is still my favorite of the butterfly paper and look how pretty it looks with a Gorgeous Grape mat. This was super fast and easy to make.
Recipe:
Whisper White Thick Cardstock - 4 1/4" x 11", scored and folded at 5 1/2"
Gorgeous Grape - 3 1/4" x 4 1/4"
Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper - 3" x 4"
Whisper White and Gorgeous Grape scraps for sentiment and scallop mat
After attaching the DSP to the Gorgeous Grape, I wrapped a piece of Organdy Ribbon around the two pieces before attaching them to the card base with Stampin' Dimensionals.

A Little Note with All My Love
The All My Love Designer Series Paper can be used for so many things besides Valentine's. It also has perfect patterns of hearts and valentine patterns. Today, I'm using it for "a little note" card.
Recipe:
Whisper White Thick Cardstock - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Soft Sea Foam - 4" x 5 1/4", embossed with the Tufted embossing folder.
Melon Mambo - 3 3/8" x 3 3/8"
All My Love Designer Series Paper - 3 1/4" x 3 1/4"
Whisper White Scrap for Sentiment - Die cut with Stitched Labels Framelits
Linen Thread - tied around Melon Mambo and Designer Series Paper BEFORE attaching to card front.

Building Up Birthday Stash
My second package of FREE Botanical Birthday Designer Series Papers arrived and I was so happy I just had to make some cards with this beautiful paper. Cut at 3" x 4", I was able to get 12 pieces out of one 12" x 12" page which leaves me another page to use another way.
This also gives me a chance to use the FREE Organdy Ribbon Combo Pack which matches perfectly with the Designer Series Paper.
