Quick Cards Ready to Go

Saturday I worked on updating labels on my stamp sets, marking all the ones that will be retiring.  My goodness, I have a LOT of those!  The good news is a lot of my choices from the Occasions Catalog are NOT retiring, so I'm really happy I get to keep so many of them.

Okay, on to today's project.  You may remember the card in the front from earlier in the week HERE.

Well, my project for today was to make up several of them, but just not finalizing them.  This is as far as I got, but now I can do whatever I want to with them to make them the perfect card for the perfect occasion.

Isn't this a pretty rainbow of color?  The can be turned sideways or upright and will be so much fun to put together when I need a quick card.

Thank you for looking in today - may you have a Blessed Sunday.  ~   Donna

Just Bee-Cause (Sneak Peek)

This adorable bee comes from the 2016 Occasions Catalog.  Isn't this just the cutest idea?  The bee idea comes from the catalog along with some others you will see me posting later this week.  The stamp set is called Balloon Builder and I just LOVE it!

I think you will too when you see it.  I wish I could show you the set, but for now you will have to wait and just see what I make with it.

Having a "bee" card, the best sentiment is "just BEEcause", right?  But since we don't have that on a stamp, I compromised and made it with "just because"from "And Many More"

To make this, I inked up "just bec" with my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker and stamped it on Whisper White cardstock.  Using the fine tip of my marker, I closed in the "c" to look like an "e".

Then I carefully cleaned the stamp and using my Stamp-a-majig I inked up "cause" and moved it over just a tad to the right of "bee".  Perfect!

I wanted to wings to sparkle, so I used another fun item from the Occasions catalog to add some glimmer to the wings.  Wait until you see the Wink of Stella Brush in January!  I wish you could see the sparkle better in this picture.  Trust me it is beautiful!

If you'd like to get a closer look, you can join my Team and get some for yourself in your starter kit!  That's right, you can order from the Occasions Catalog to make your starter kit!  If you join my team, I will send an adorable Bee Card to you, Just Bee-Cause!

If you'd rather not join my team, that's okay... I'd be perfectly happy to have you as a customer!  If you don't already have a Demonstrator and would like to have an Occasions Catalog and a Sale-a-Bration brochure, just send me an email and I'll get one to you.  Email me at StampsWellWithOthers@gmail.com.

Thank you for looking in today!  Here comes another week!

Happy Birthday with Watercolor Words

With all the holiday cards being made lately, we mustn't forget the every day cards, like birthdays, so I decided to make up a few tonight to add back to my supply.

I thought it would be nice to dig up some pretty flowers and use English Garden Designer Series Paper.  I still love this beautiful paper and will look forward to spring to use it on some pretty spring cards.  For now, let's do birthday!

I made up a couple of extras (one shown) without sentiments that I can use when I need to whip up something fast.  It is always nice to have some backup ready to top off.

Recipe:
Base - Blushing Bride - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
Mossy Meadow - 5 1/4" x 4"
Designer Paper - 5" x 3 3/4"

Sentiment Mat Mossy Meadow - 3 5/8" x  2 3/8"
Sentiment Whisper White - 3 1/2" x 2 1/4"

Sentiment Stamps - Watercolor Words

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving - I'm so thankful for you who read my blog and for all my customers!  Thank you for keeping my job fun!

Thank you for looking in today ~

Garden in Bloom Sympathy

Time for more Sympathy Cards.  I'm beginning to think I need to just make a batch of these so I don't have to keep making more.  Two different women we know lost their Brother's in the last couple of days.  That's so sad.  My brother and I aren't close - we're 11 years apart in age - but I would still be devastated if I lost him.

I wanted something soft and blue for both of these.  Soft Sky fits the bill nicely and and I think goes really well with Smoky Slate.

Recipe:
Soft Sky - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
Smoky Slate - 5" x 3 3/4"
Whisper White - 4 7/8" x 3 5/8"

Stamps:  Garden in Bloom, Thoughts and Prayers, A Dozen Thoughts
Ink - Soft Sky
Embellishments - Pearl Basic Jewels (and some retired Large Pearl Basic Jewels)

Special Garden in Bloom

Can you tell I really love the Garden in Bloom stamps and English Garden DSP?  I'm just a flowery girl and these are some of my favorites.  I was sad to see the Painted Blooms go away after this past spring, but thankfully English Garden is just as pretty!

I started with a base of 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4".  The card above uses Night of Navy with the multi-colored flowers from English Garden DSP and the card below uses Mossy Meadow with the yellow flowers.

The DSP is cut 4" x 4" and placed at the left of the card.  The banners are both 2" wide with the Whisper White starting out at 3 3/4" and the Gold Foil sheets 4" long and then punched with the Banner Triple Punch.  I wanted the gold to be a tad longer when I layered them.

Punch the banner ends first, so you know where to stamp the flower, then stamp the sentiment across the top.

Dress it up with a 1/8" Gold Ribbon.  I used about 8 inches to tie the knot and then trim off the ends at an angle.  Attach the white to the gold with a strong adhesive.  Keep in mind the gold is a bit slippery, so I used the Fast Fuse so it would stick nice and strong.

Pop some Dimensionals behind the banners and attach to the top lined up with the DSP.

I love the shiny look of the Gold Foil peeking out behind the Whisper White.

Stamping Tip:

To get the very best stamping from your Photopolymer Stamps, always use the Pierce Mat underneath for a crisp clean image.

Thank you for looking in today ~ may you have a Blessed Sunday.

Workshop Thank You's June 2015

Yesterday's card was so pretty, I just had to continue the theme for today's Customer Thank You notes.  I love making these little 3" x 3" notes for my customers.  They are fun, fast and pretty!

I started with a 6" x 3" Whisper White piece of card stock, then a square 2 7/8" x 2 7/8" of Melon Mambo and then DSP 2 3/4" x 2 3/4".

Next, Linen Thread wrapped around one end and tied in a small bow.  Stamp "A Little Thanks" from One Big Meaning and punched it out with the Scalloped Oval punch.

Just a quick post today since it's nearly midnight again and past bedtime again!  It was totally worth it though to be later tonight.  I had a wonderful dinner with my best friend from high school having some catch-up time.  Time passes by way too quickly and we were way past due for some time to visit.

Thank you for looking in.  Be sure to check out the great deals this week on our weekly deals!

English Garden in Bloom

As promised, here are some more cards using the beautiful English Garden DSP.  The basic idea for this card comes from Connie Collins.  Thank you Connie!  Her card uses Blackberry Bliss and a scalloped edge which is very pretty.

I chose to use Melon Mambo for my mat color and I didn't use a scalloped edge or stitches.  This card is going to be another one of my favorites!

Even the inside is decorated.  I must remember to do this more often.  I love having the inside looking beautiful too!

Recipe:

Mossy Meadow - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
Melon Mambo - 5 1/4" x 4"
DSP - 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"
Whisper White (inside) 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"

Sentiment Inside and Out:  Garden in Bloom
Ink:  Soft Suede for sponging the edges of the DSP and Circle
Mossy Meadow for Sentiments

Since I didn't want to do stitching, I made my own "stitch" with my Soft Suede Stampin' Write Marker.  I only did this around the 2 1/2" Circle.

Remember, if you are reading this in an email (exactly how many of you are reading from an email?  I'm curious - post a comment and let me know, please?) - if you are, remember to go to my blog link below to see the "scrolling store" from "mystampin'blog" website.

Beautiful English Garden

Stampin' Up! has come through again with more beautiful DSP in the 2015 Annual Catalog.  As I've said many times in the past I was totally taken with the Painted Blooms DSP in the Occasions catalog and it will be my favorite for a long time, however, this new DSP, English Garden is making a big impression on me.

Both pieces used on these cards and envelopes come from two separate papers within English Garden.  They go so well together, don't you think?

Recipe:

Night of Navy - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
Hello Honey - 5 1/4" x 4"
DSP flowers - 5 1/8" x 3"
DSP stripes - 5 1/8" x 2"
Ribbon - 5/8" Organza Ribbon

Stamps:  You've Got This
Punch:  Decorative Label

Thank you for looking in today... here comes Monday again!
