Before I go on with today's card, I need a moment of silence... this pretty paper you see on today's cards is all gone!  My heart is breaking to use the very last piece.  Oh well, there will be more pretty paper coming and we still have beautiful paper in the Annual Catalog and in the Occasions Catalog.

This card is so fast and easy and is a good way to use up those little pieces that you may have left after another project.

Recipe:
Whisper White Thick - 4 1/4" x 11", scored and folded at 5 1/2"
Basic Black - 4" x 5 1/4"
Whisper White - 3 3/4" x 5"

I punched the butterfly from the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper - the one with the blue background.

Granola Bar Treats

So this isn't really a Granola Bar, but that's the best thing I can call it without a long explanation.  We'll save that for another day.  For now though, I'm meeting some friends tonight and I wanted to give them a little Easter Treat.

There really aren't any measurements, simply because it would all depend on what you are wanting to cover.  I just measured this from end to end and decided where I wanted the paper to cover and cut it to that width.  Then I wrapped it around until it overlapped and cut it to that length.   Be sure to give enough overlap to use adhesive.  I used Tear and Tape for a strong hold.

I stamped the bunnies from Fable Friends and colored them with Light Soft Suede Stampin' Blend, Dark Petal Pink for the ears and belly and Dark Pool Party for the sweater.  I darkened the buttons with Dark Night of Navy and then fussy cut them with my snips.  They really weren't that hard to snip.

Thank you for looking in today.  It's "Friday Eve!" and I'm going out with friends tonight, so I'm excited for some girl time!

Glad We're Friends

As I was working with this card I realized that I've used the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper more than any other DSP, ever!  It is so pretty and has so many patterns that work in so many ways.

The one used here I hadn't used much, but today I am and I really like how this turned out and it is so very fast and simple!

Recipe:
Highland Heather - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Botanical Butterfly DSP - 4" x 5 1/4"
Highland Heather - 2 3/4" x 3 3/4"
Whisper White - 2 1/2" x 3 1/2"
Botanical Butterfly DSP - (for under Whisper White) - 2 1/4" x 2 1/2"

Whisper White scrap (1/2" x 2 7/8") and Highland Heather scrap (5/8" x 3") for sentiment and mat.
5/8x3

Punch the butterflies with the Butterfly Duet Punch then pop them up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I colored the Rhinestone Jewels on either side of the sentiment with my Dark Highland Heather Stampin' Blends.

Stamps:  Fable Friends
Ink:  Highland Heather

Inside - Whisper White - 4" x 5 1/4"

Thank you for looking in today!  Happy Hump Day!

Floating Frame - First Round

As promised, here is the other Floating Frame that I actually made first, but didn't take "how to" pictures to show you.  Isn't this pretty?  It took longer of course, because I needed to color them (Lovely Lipstick and Mint Macaron Stampin' Blends Combos) and cut them out with my Brother Scan 'n Cut.  Not to mention the amount of time it took to look for the framelits that I thought I had purchased and apparently didn't!

I stamped onto Shimmery White with Memento Black ink.  I think it colors the best with the Stampin' Blends.

To see yesterday's posting with full details, click here.

Here is the "inside" portion that could be used on a card as well, just add sentiments.

I colored some gems with Lovely Lipstick Stampin' Blends.

If you look closely at the right side of the roses (under the rhinestone) when I pulled up the Press 'n Seal, it pulled up the color as well, so be very careful and very sure the coloring is completely dry, or don't press too terribly hard..

Thank you for looking in today and seeing the other version.  I love the roses!

Happy Tuesday!

Floating Frame

Check this out!  I spotted this on a couple of websites this past week or so (gosh, when did I first see it??) and couldn't wait to give it a try.  The only thing that was holding me back was finding the Press and Seal at the store!  It's always something, right?

I actually made a couple of these Sunday but didn't take pictures of the process on the first one, so did a simpler version with the butterflies.  I'll show you the other one another day.

Look how cool this is - the butterflies are "floating" over the paper.  I love it!

Recipe:
Grapefruit Grove - 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Whisper White - 4" x 5 1/4" - cut two - one for inside one for the butterflies

Stamp:  Petal Palatte
Ink:  Memento Black

Begin by punching out butterflies (or flowers or whatever you wish to make into your floating frame) to cover a piece of cardstock 5 1/4" x 4"

Lay them over the cardstock the way you want them to be.  They may move a bit, so be patient while you get them ready.  Do NOT adhere them down, you need them to be loose.

This is Glad Press 'n Seal.  The reason this works is because one side of the wrap is sticky.  Not too sticky of course, but enough to work perfectly for this.

Take a piece of the Press 'n Seal and very carefully lay it over the butterflies.  If you have a helper, use them.  Extra hands make a big difference.

Gently press the Press n Seal over all the butterflies and the cardstock they are on.

Flip it over and using a large pair of scissors (faster than using our little snips) and trim off all the excess.

Turn it back over and make sure everything is still where you want it.  You can lift and move a little if needed.  Gently press them all in place again, just to be sure.

Flip it again - maybe we should call the the Flip It Floating Frame - and gently pull off the cardstock.  Save it - you will be using it again.

This is how it looks now with the cardstock off.

Place it on your cutting plate, add a rectangle die - tape it down gently with some washi tape to hold the die in place.  REMEMBER - when cutting with a rectangle die, turn it at an angle for easier cutting.

Now, this probably takes the most time of the whole project.  Flip it (yes, again) and add Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to all the pieces.  Be sure to look for little pieces that might need even a half of a Mini.  Remove all the backing from the Dimensionals.

While it is still face down, take the piece of cardstock you removed and carefully lay it over the frame.  This works best by placing the frame on your grid paper where you can see it is lined up.  That makes it easier to line up the cardstock.

Now you can turn it over and gently remove the Press 'n Seal.

Stamp a sentiment, add some bling, and you're done!  I decided on a simple sentiment in the open area to draw more attention to the frame instead of to what was in the middle.

Thank you for looking in today!  Happy Monday!
