Bye, Bye Grunge...

Today we have a quick and easy masculine "Congratulations" card and of course I always go to my favorite Guy Grunge stamp set - Gorgeous Grunge.  I'm so sad to see this stamp set go away.  The splatters and splotches are just the right thing for those manly cards we all need.

Recipe:
Night of Navy - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Whisper White - 4 3/4" x 3 1/2" - spotted with Night of Navy ink
Night of Navy - 3" x 2"
Whisper White 2 7/8" x 1 7/8"

"Congrats" is from Tin of Cards (retiring)
"to you" is from Crazy About You (retiring)

Inside I added a little more splatter in the corners before writing on the card which will be going to my new boss at the office.

He was just appointed as Deputy Recorder and I am going to be his Executive Assistant.  Over the last 4 months I've had several people I've reported to, including the new County Recorder for a couple of weeks.  I think this week we've all settled in to where we are going to be and I'm pleased with where I'm ending up.  PLUS, I get to move back to my old workstation that I've been in for 26 years (minus the last 4 months).  I can hardly wait to settle in again!

Thank you for looking in today!  We're almost at the weekend!

You've Got This - Team Meeting

Today was a fun day of stamping with the weSTAMP Team.  I always love making the projects Lorri comes up with.  They are always great fun and very creative!

Here is one of the cards that we made today.

So simple.
Card base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
Top card stock - 5" x 3 3/4"
Sponge the edges of both.  Stamp the large background stamp from You've Got This
Cut a piece of DSP 1 1/2" x 4" and punch both ends with the Banner Triple Punch
Stamp the butterfly from Butterfly Basics and cut out with the Butterflies Thinlits.
Wrap with Linen Thread and make a simple bow.
Stamp Hello from Crazy About You and punch with the Window Punch.

Thank you for looking in today.  I'm heading to bed to hopefully listen to the thunder and maybe some rain.

Happy Sunday!

Mother's Day Butterflies

I have another Mother's Day card to share, although it could be any kind of card since I put the sentiment on the inside.

The pattern on this was used in a previous post HERE - complete with measurements.

Today I used the Park Lane DSP again, but chose the one with the small Blackberry Bliss and Daffodil Delight flowers.

Don't forget the inside!  The additional butterfly inside is from Butterfly Basics (which will be carrying over to the new Annual Catalog with the Butterfly Thinlits! Yayyy!)

I also decorated the envelope to give a little color to the outside.

Love the added bling of the Rhinestones.

Thank you for looking in today.

Doodled Thank Yous

This month I made some large thank you notes to match the little thank you notes I put into my customer's bags.  Since some of them were purchased online and were mailed to them, I wanted to mail a card so they would still receive their thank you!

I'm a big believer in Thank You Notes!

Off to bed for this gal, tomorrow is a big day stamping with our weSTAMP Team.  I love stamping with the girls!

Do You Doodle?

Do you doodle?  I doodle all the time, especially when I'm on the phone.  How about adding some doodle to your stamping?  I spotted this idea by Connie Stewart and instantly knew I had to try it.

I recently heard about Zentangle and looked it up, but just couldn't get into the tight patterns and process, but when I saw this and Connie calling it ZenDoodle, I loved it.  Thanks Connie!

I decided to go with more traditional colors than Connie and I'm really pleased with how they turned out.  The possibilities are endless.  You can do as much or as little as you want and it's doodling, so it doesn't have to be perfect - as you'll notice from one of my leaves below where I drew the line much bigger than the leaf.  Still looks great!

Recipe:

Stamp Set:  Crazy About You
Base - Blushing Bride - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
Mat - Basic Black - 4 1/4" x 3" (wider mat); 4 1/8" x 2 7/8" (smaller mat)
Whisper White - 4" x 2 3/4"

1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon - Wild Wasabi

Here you can see the image before I doodled and after the doodle.  What a change, right?

Set yourself free and do a doodle!

Thank you for looking in today.  Let me know what you think.  I love to read your comments and I promise I'll reply back, so be sure to click the box "notify me" and you'll see when a reply is posted.

You Rock

Honestly, I wasn't planning to order this Adventure Bound Paper Stack, but seeing so many cute ways to use it, I finally gave in.  Maybe I just needed to get past Valentine's and Easter, who knows!

Now that I have it, here is my first card and I have to say, I'm pretty happy with it.  When you see rocks, the only possible thing to say on the card is "you rock", right?  So, that's what I did!

This could be a birthday card, thank you card, or just a you are awesome card.  It all depends on what goes inside, right?

I went with two different sizes on the Basic Black mat.  One I cut 1/4" bigger and the other 1/8" bigger.  I think I like the bigger border better, which do you prefer?

The Adventure Bound DSP Stack is 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" so I cut it in half at 4 1/2" x 3 1/4" and then made the Basic Black mats 4 5/8" x 3 3/8" and the other 4 3/4" x 3 1/2".

The corners were rounded with the Project Life Corner Rounder Punch.

Very simple!

Would you like a tip about how to adhere the "you" without having your liquid glue ooze out all over?

Here's my tip.  Sparingly apply little dots of the Tombo Liquid Glue to the back of the letters.  Instead of immediately placing it on your card, let it sit for a few minutes.  The first time you do it, you'll want to do it right away, but trust me... WAIT.  Then when you do turn it over and put it on your card, pick it up with your tweezers and gently press it down.  The glue will have set up a bit and won't be oozing and wet.  Perfection!

Thank you for looking in today!  It's going to be a great day with the girls coming over for a workshop.  I love our workshop Saturdays!
