Build a Birthday Birthday Fun

This idea was spotted on Connie Stewart's blog and I thought it was so cute!  So I changed up the colors a bit and the sentiment and while it's still cute, it just seemed too plain to me.

So... bring on the confetti!  Better!  But... where did the Party Hat go?

THERE it is!  Do you ever have a project that you just can't get it to be the way you really want it?  I know I do.  I'm thinking the party hat needs some color or some bling, or something.  What do you think?

Recipe

Paper:
Watermelon Wonder / Cucumber Crush - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Whisper White - 5 1/4" x 4"
Cherry On Top Designer Series Paper Stack (138443)

Stamps:
Build a Birthday (138646), Fabulous Four (wm-134171 / cm-134174), Party With Cake (wm-140669 / cm-140672)

Ink:
Bermuda Bay (131171), Crushed Curry (131173), Watermelon Wonder (138323), Cucumber Crush (138324)

Thank you for looking in today - it's HUMP Day!  I've missed this commercial on t.v. so thought I'd bring it back here!  (if you are reading this in an email, be sure to go to my blog to see the video)

Punch a Party

This was THE fastest card I think I've ever put together.  In preparing for Saturday's workshop, I had some strips of paper left with the balloons from It's My Party Designer Series Paper Stack and since I had been using the balloon punch from the Party Punch Pack, I decided I wanted to use the cupcake for this one.

Recipe:
Whisper White Thick Card Stock -  8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Designer Series Paper Strip  - whatever you have left over - this one is 5 1/2" x 1 1/2"
Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry and Mint Macaron cut with the smallest square from the Square Framelits Die
Party Punch Pack Cupcake  - punched first on Whisper White, then punched with 1" square punch evenly spaced around the cupcake.

I popped up the white piece with half of a Stampin' Dimensional on each corner.  Then blinged it up with a Rhinestone.

Now I know what to do with the rest of my strips of DSP that were left over!  Yayyyy!

Thank you for looking in today - time for me to head to bed to be refreshed for tomorrow's (today's) party!  That's not confusing, is it!   ~ Donna

Celebrate with Cake - Workshop Version

You are probably tired of seeing this card... but look closer, it's different!  This one is the creation of one of my stampers, Brittney with her twist on the card.

The outside may not look too different, but wait until you see the inside!

Ta Da!  Isn't this fabulous?  I love that she's added the balloons to the pop up!

I just love it when my customers add their creativity to my originals.  Great Job Brittney!

Thank you for looking in today.  Be sure to look back here for the original details and measurements.

Happy Sunday - Donna

Celebrate With Cake

This will be the second project for today's workshop.  I just can't get enough of this "It's My Party" Designer Series Paper.  I've been using so much of it, I'm going to need another pack!

Recipe:  Front
Melon Mambo - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Daffodil Delight (although Crushed Curry is the coordinating color - but I didn't have enough for everyone) 5 1/4" x 4"
DSP - different from the inside DSP - 5" x 3 3/4"
Mat - Daffodil Delight - 3 3/4" x 3 1/4"
Whisper White - 3 1/2" x 3"

I also love the Party Pop-Up Thinlits Dies - they are so much fun!  I know I've made one before with this inside for Brittney's Birthday, but to get my paper to go farther for today's workshop, I made the insert 6" x 4 inches which gives me 6 insides out of each 12 x 12 sheet.  With extra Melon Mambo around the edge, I was able to add the confetti curli's to add a little more.

Recipe:

Melon Mambo - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Designer Series Paper - It's My Party - 6" x 4", scored at 3" - but DON'T fold it just yet!
Place the DSP on your Big Shot with the Magnetic Plate with the little arrows from "Hip Hop Hooray" pointed at the score line.
Run it through the Big Shot and cut out the pop-up.  Save the pieces to decorate your card inside.

Fold the insert as shown and then lay flat again.  Add adhesive to the back of the DSP - I highly recommend the "Green Glue" aka the Tombo Multipurpose Glue - this will allow you some slide space.

The last time I used this stamp, I stamped it with Memento Black and colored in the Melon Mambo with Stampin' Write Markers.  I have to say, I think this looks so much nicer!  Stamped with Melon Mambo and the Celebrate is colored in instead, as it is a solid stamp.

I then added the next sentiment with Mint Macaron.

Thank you for looking in today!  I wish  you a fabulous Saturday - do some stamping and have a blast!  ~ Donna

Birthday Hooray!

Time for another birthday celebration!  Have you checked out the Party Pop-Up Thinlits Dies yet?

If you haven't, it is time to do so!  They are designed to pop up in the middle of your card when you open it, but it also works well flat.

This is for a sweet elderly gentleman who has a birthday next week.  I hope he likes it!

He LOVES ice cream... I should have made the inside say "and more ice cream" after the "and ice cream".    That is his favorite dessert when he goes out to eat and all his favorite restaurants know to have it on hand when he comes in.

At 92 years old you should be allowed to have whatever you want, right?!

Happy Birthday Mr. M.

It's Your Day!

The "It's My Party" Designer Series Paper Stack is filled with great party themed papers!  This is a HUGE stack of 48 sheets, so much bigger than we're used to and I'm so glad it is.  I see me using every bit of it with all the birthday cards I want to make.  I'm planning to jump on the bandwagon started by Shannon West from Stampin' Up!

Shannon has started a movement she's calling #imbringingbirthdaysback - to bring back the sending of traditional birthday cards in the mail. We rely on social media to stay in touch far too often these days and have lost the personal touch of sending cards.  Don’t get me wrong, I love facebook and the friends I have made online, but it does seem people are drifting further apart as a result.
**  #imbringingbirthdaysback  **

I’ve decided I too want to participate in the #imbringingbirthdaysback movement and gladly will be sending a birthday card to all of my customers for their birthday this year.  If you would like to receive a card from me too, just send me an email with your name, address and date of birth (I don't need to know the year, just the month and day). Email me at StampsWellWithOthers@gmail.com.

Today's card recipe:

Base - Crushed Curry - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Designer Series Paper (DSP) 5 1/4" x 4"
Whisper White Banner - 2" x 5" - Stamped with "IT'S YOUR DAY" in Mint Macaron, then punched with the Banner Triple Punch.
Whisper White Bakers Twine - wrapped around the sentiment banner and tied into a bow on one of them and just wrapped around and taped to the back with the other.
Whisper White - 3/8" x 3" (or so) - stamped with HAPPY BIRTHDAY, then snipped into a banner with my paper snips.

Stamps used:  Party With Cake (wood - 140669 / clear mount 140672)

Inside sentiments also from Party With Cake.  I just love the stamps in this set!  They are fun and so many to choose from!

Thank you for looking in today!  I'm off to have another fun stamping weekend with the girls.  This weekend we're going to Diana Gibbs' and Rhonda Morgan's Spring Fling.  I just love making things that are planned by someone else!  Don't You!?

Happy Saturday!

Time To Celebrate!

More new stamps arrived at my house Thursday!  Yayyy!!!  That is definitely a reason to celebrate as well as this card to celebrate a special birthday!

I made two versions in playing with my new stamps and paper.  Which one do you like best?

This first one uses a base of Whisper White Cardstock and a layer of Pool Party and two types of ribbon / thread.

This one uses a base of Pool Party, a layer of Whisper White and another layer of Pool Party.  I have to say, this one is my favorite.  I like the extra white layer and adding a white layer inside for stamping.

The stamp set used is Party with Cake and there are so many cute sayings there.  I can't wait to use more of them, which you will see coming up very soon.

Thank you for looking in today.  So glad it is Friday!  Bring on the weekend!
