3-D Balloons Pop!

This fabulous balloon trick comes from LeeAnn Greff at Flowerbug's Inkspot.  I just knew I had to try it and I did.  It was SO EASY and adds just that right amount of fun to a birthday card.  Thank you LeeAnn, you inspire me!

Look how awesome these look and with some Stampin' Dimensionals behind them, they stay popped up, even after mailing!

Simply punch your balloons with the Balloon Bouquet Punch and lay them face down (the part you want to show, down) onto our Piercing Mat.  Using your Stampin' Stylus, gently rub the ball end over the edge and around until it turns up a bit.  LeeAnn has a video on her blog that you can see.

This is how it will look on the "front".

Add some full size Stampin' Dimensionals on the back.  I say "full size" because I generally cut mine in half to make them go further.  But for this, you want good coverage.

Celebrate with Cake - Workshop Version

You are probably tired of seeing this card... but look closer, it's different!  This one is the creation of one of my stampers, Brittney with her twist on the card.

The outside may not look too different, but wait until you see the inside!

Ta Da!  Isn't this fabulous?  I love that she's added the balloons to the pop up!

I just love it when my customers add their creativity to my originals.  Great Job Brittney!

Thank you for looking in today.  Be sure to look back here for the original details and measurements.

Celebrate With Cake

This will be the second project for today's workshop.  I just can't get enough of this "It's My Party" Designer Series Paper.  I've been using so much of it, I'm going to need another pack!

Recipe:  Front
Melon Mambo - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Daffodil Delight (although Crushed Curry is the coordinating color - but I didn't have enough for everyone) 5 1/4" x 4"
DSP - different from the inside DSP - 5" x 3 3/4"
Mat - Daffodil Delight - 3 3/4" x 3 1/4"
Whisper White - 3 1/2" x 3"

I also love the Party Pop-Up Thinlits Dies - they are so much fun!  I know I've made one before with this inside for Brittney's Birthday, but to get my paper to go farther for today's workshop, I made the insert 6" x 4 inches which gives me 6 insides out of each 12 x 12 sheet.  With extra Melon Mambo around the edge, I was able to add the confetti curli's to add a little more.

Recipe:

Melon Mambo - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Designer Series Paper - It's My Party - 6" x 4", scored at 3" - but DON'T fold it just yet!
Place the DSP on your Big Shot with the Magnetic Plate with the little arrows from "Hip Hop Hooray" pointed at the score line.
Run it through the Big Shot and cut out the pop-up.  Save the pieces to decorate your card inside.

Fold the insert as shown and then lay flat again.  Add adhesive to the back of the DSP - I highly recommend the "Green Glue" aka the Tombo Multipurpose Glue - this will allow you some slide space.

The last time I used this stamp, I stamped it with Memento Black and colored in the Melon Mambo with Stampin' Write Markers.  I have to say, I think this looks so much nicer!  Stamped with Melon Mambo and the Celebrate is colored in instead, as it is a solid stamp.

I then added the next sentiment with Mint Macaron.

Thank you for looking in today!  I wish  you a fabulous Saturday - do some stamping and have a blast!  ~ Donna

Hip Hip Hooray Brittney!

This was the birthday card I made for Brittney - my adopted office daughter!  Since I was only blessed with Son's it was nice to find Brittney to have as a daughter.  We may not be related by blood, but boy, you'd not know that after all the things we have in common!

Monday was her birthday, but since it was a holiday for us at the office, we celebrated on Friday.  Our favorite birthday cake is my Mom's Carrot Cake and oh baby, was it ever good!  You build muscles grating over 3 cups of carrots, but it's totally worth it!

So, you can see I added "carrot" between the words "with" and "cake".  Of course, calories don't count on your birthday, so add the extra slice and celebrate!

I love these Party Pop-Up Thinlits Dies.  They make our cards so much fun!  This is probably going to be one of the cards at our workshop this weekend.  At least something similar.

Don't you just love the bright Melon Mambo behind this one?  So bright and pretty!

Thank you for looking in today!  Happy Hump Day!

It's My Party - Birthday Cards (& Weekly Deals!)

Don't forget to check the Weekly Deals!

I made the card on the right (as you look at the screen) for my oldest son's birthday which is this Wednesday.  He'll be 34!  Yikes!

It came out so nice I decided to make more in Sahara Sand and then also in Mint Macaron.  I blinged up the Mint with It's My Party Enamel Dots for a more feminine touch and left the Sahara Sand plain for the masculine look.

Inside I added some Mint Macaron balloons to dress up the inside.  There is no sentiment inside so I can choose the right one depending on the recipient.

Recipe:
Base - Whisper White - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Designer Series Paper - It's My Party - 5 1/4" x 4"
Whisper White Mat - 4" x 2 3/4"
Sahara Sand / Mint Macaron - 3 3/4" x 2 1/2"

Stamp the dots from Gorgeous Grunge in the same color ink that matches the card stock.
Also using Gorgeous Grunge - stamp the diagonal strip across the bottom in Memento Ink.
Stamp Happy Birthday from You're So Lovely in Memento Ink.

I popped up the mat and sentiment with Stampin' Dimensionals.

As you can see, I made several cards to add to my stash for #imbringingbirthdaysback.  Don't forget to email me your name, address and birthday if you'd like to receive a hand made card for your special day!  Email me at StampsWellWithOthers@gmail.com

Thank you for looking in today.  It's back to work after a nice three day weekend.

Happy Tuesday!

Happy Healing

This is another card for our little guy who is receiving the airplane card for Valentine's Day.  Except this is for the day after Valentine's when he's having a little surgery.  Poor kid!

He's adorable though.  He was cleaning off a shelf in his room the other day and his Mom asked him what he was doing.  Keep in mind, this shelf is a shelf of honor where he keeps his Lego creations and special items.  His answer?  "Well, I'm going to be getting Get Well Cards and I need a place to put them."  Is that great or what?  So now our plan at the office is to make sure he has cards to fill his shelf!

Card Recipe:

Base - Crushed Curry (although it doesn't much look like it in the picture) - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Basic Black - 5 1/4" x 4"
It's My Party - Designer Series Paper (DSP) 5 1/8" x 3 7/8"
Basic Black (panel) - 5 1/8" x 2 1/8" (I think - I forgot to write down the measurements before giving it to the recipient's Grandmother for mailing).
Crushed Curry - 5" x 2"

I heat embossed the sentiment with White Embossing powder and cut the ends into a flag.

The sentiment is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Thank you for looking in today.

It's Super Bowl Sunday - for those of you that care... lol... I watch for the commercials myself.  I enjoy seeing what they come up with.  Oh, and Go Broncos!  (Since my Arizona Cardinals didn't make it!)

It's Your Day!

The "It's My Party" Designer Series Paper Stack is filled with great party themed papers!  This is a HUGE stack of 48 sheets, so much bigger than we're used to and I'm so glad it is.  I see me using every bit of it with all the birthday cards I want to make.  I'm planning to jump on the bandwagon started by Shannon West from Stampin' Up!

Shannon has started a movement she's calling #imbringingbirthdaysback - to bring back the sending of traditional birthday cards in the mail. We rely on social media to stay in touch far too often these days and have lost the personal touch of sending cards.  Don’t get me wrong, I love facebook and the friends I have made online, but it does seem people are drifting further apart as a result.
**  #imbringingbirthdaysback  **

I’ve decided I too want to participate in the #imbringingbirthdaysback movement and gladly will be sending a birthday card to all of my customers for their birthday this year.  If you would like to receive a card from me too, just send me an email with your name, address and date of birth (I don't need to know the year, just the month and day). Email me at StampsWellWithOthers@gmail.com.

Today's card recipe:

Base - Crushed Curry - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Designer Series Paper (DSP) 5 1/4" x 4"
Whisper White Banner - 2" x 5" - Stamped with "IT'S YOUR DAY" in Mint Macaron, then punched with the Banner Triple Punch.
Whisper White Bakers Twine - wrapped around the sentiment banner and tied into a bow on one of them and just wrapped around and taped to the back with the other.
Whisper White - 3/8" x 3" (or so) - stamped with HAPPY BIRTHDAY, then snipped into a banner with my paper snips.

Stamps used:  Party With Cake (wood - 140669 / clear mount 140672)

Inside sentiments also from Party With Cake.  I just love the stamps in this set!  They are fun and so many to choose from!

Thank you for looking in today!  I'm off to have another fun stamping weekend with the girls.  This weekend we're going to Diana Gibbs' and Rhonda Morgan's Spring Fling.  I just love making things that are planned by someone else!  Don't You!?

Happy Saturday!
