Curvy Keepsake Meets White Christmas

Curvy Keepsake Boxes are everywhere!  All you have to do is check out blogs and facebook pages and of course Pinterest!

Most of them are "punch art" style with little or no stamping so I'm here to add some stamping to some of my Curvy Keepsakes.  I'm also here to save you some time and frustration.  In my head, I figured on cutting one die with DSP and the 2nd die with Whisper White.  Stamp on one side of the Whisper White and then glue them all together.  Guess what?  That was so wrong!  The die cuts in an "L" shape so when you place two pieces together you don't have opposite colors back to back, but rather side to side.

The solution:  Cut two (as you would for any time you're making a Curvy Keepsake Box) using your DSP of choice.  Then take a small piece of Whisper White (or whatever solid color you will be using) and cut out just the rounded top side - as shown below.

Trim at the score line so you only have what will be the front of your box.  Stamp on this piece and color it however you like.  Remember to curl it with your bone folder, as well as the four other sides of the DSP.   Using your adhesive of choice - I used our Tombo liquid glue for a tight bond.

Fill your box with whatever you want and you're all set with some cute little table gifts or place setting markers.  So Much Fun!

Thank you for coming in today.

Happy Saturday!

Holiday Home - Boo To You!

This was such a FUN card to make and really very simple.  The Holiday Home set along with the Homemade Holiday Framelits dies have so many uses.  I sure hope they both stay around after the Holidays, think of all the fun cards you can make through the year.

How about one for a new address, or welcome to the neighborhood?  Great ideas!

For now though, we're doing Halloween!

The base is Pumpkin Pie cut at 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4".
Middle Layer - Daffodil Delight - 5 1/4" x 4"
Top Layer - Basic Black - 5" x 3 3/4"

Using the Confetti Stars Punch, punch along the side of the Basic Black.

Punch a "moon" from So Saffron and sponge the edges with Pumpkin Pie ink.

Stamp the houses with Memento Black ink onto Smoky Slate card stock.  Cut them out with your matching dies.  For darker houses, use Basic Gray instead of Smoky Slate.

Place your moon where you'd like it to be behind the buildings - be sure to stamp some bats flying across the surface.  I also added some cobwebs to the houses in the corner.  With the truly clear Photopolymer stamps, you can add the cobwebs perfectly in the corners!

Thank you for looking in today.  I hope you like our project and I hope the girls coming to the house later today like it too!  It will be one our projects for today's workshop!

Are You Being Watched?

Do you ever feel like someone - or something - is watching you?  Well, maybe it's these two little guys.  Especially the one with the wonky eyes!  Then there's the one who's a tad crossed eyed - I don't think either can see you very well!

This card was so easy to make - really - you can do it very easily.  Here's how:

Start with a one-inch punch and punch out six little squares - preferably from a post-it note with a little of the sticky part in the square.

Take a Basic Black piece of card stock 4 1/4" x 3" then using your grid paper and a ruler, draw a line down the center at 1 1/2" and the other way at 2 1/8" (half way in the middle for both edges).

Place your one inch squares onto the Basic Black as shown below:

Then using your 1" punch line your punch up with the post-it's and punch out the squares.

Here is what you will have when you turn it over to the other side - without the lines.

Cut a piece of Basic Gray or Smoky Slate 4 1/8" x 2 7/8" to go behind the window.

Die cut your ghosts from Fun Fall Framelits (135856) and place them behind the window frame as desired.  I used Tombo Glue to attach so they won't move or come loose.

You will need to trim up the part of the ghost that hangs out.  Just flip it over once you have it attached and trim them up as needed.

Punch out a moon - I used Hello Honey and sponged it just a bit with Pumpkin Pie.  Attach it into the corner of your gray background.

Attach the frame and ghosts over the gray backing and add google eyes or you can stamp your eyes or punch them from perhaps the Owl Punch and Cupcake Punch.  I stamped the bats onto the moon from Holiday Home (135095).

Stamp the pumpkins from Fall Fest (135194) - and remember you can get Fall Fest and Fun Fall Framelits as a bundle (137628).  Die cut the pumpkins and attach them to the front.  I inked the pumpkins with Pumpkin Pie and then inked the stems with Early Espresso Stampin' Write Pen.

The Whisper White mat is cut at 5" x 3 3/4" and rounded with the corner punch from Project Life.  You can see from below that I popped the mat and the window frame with Dimensionals.

Thank you for looking in today - I hope you enjoy this card and give it a try!
