Brittney's Butterfly

Yes, you've seen this before... but wait, have you really???

At our workshop on Saturday, this was one of the cards the girls made - this one was made by this month's hostess, Brittney.  Do you see what she did differently from my original posting of this card - which you can see HERE if you missed it?

We all make little "oops's" when stamping and what I've always told my stampers when they have a smudge or something that didn't turn out the way they wanted, "There are no mistakes in stamping, only opportunities for embellishment."

That's what we have here, an embellishment, a beautiful butterfly!  When I saw this my jaw dropped, it turned out SO PRETTY!

She used Papillon Potpourri and the Bitty Butterfly Punch.  Stamping on both sides and folding the butterfly to look as if it is flying.  Isn't it beautiful!

Thank you for looking in today.  Have a Blessed Sunday!

Love Is Kindness Watercolor

I saw this beautiful card idea by Angie Leach and just had to make some.  Thank you Angie, I needed your post to give my crafting a kick!  :)

I made a couple of changes but not too much.  I chose to use watercolor paper for the stamping on the cover and I used my Aqua Painter with the ink pressed inside the lid of my stamp pads.

My color choices were Blackberry Bliss, Strawberry Slush and Crisp Cantaloupe.

Recipe:
Base - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4".  Then trim 1 1/4" off the card front edge with the Stampin' Trimmer.
Inside:  Very Vanilla 5 1/4" x 4" and stamp the tops of the tulips into the lower left corner.
Cut a strip of Typeset Designer Series Paper 1 1/2" x 5 1/4" and adhere it to the right side of the Very Vanilla.

Watercolor Paper is cut at 3 3/4" x 2 3/4"
Basic Black is cut 4" x 3"

Be very careful adhering the Basic Black to the front of the card.  I nearly put liquid glue all the way to the corners and caught myself just in the nick of time!!  You could also use Stampin' Dimensionals to attach it for a little pop.

When painting on the watercolor paper I used my Aqua Painter and the ink on the inside of the stamp pad after gently squeezing the pad before opening it.  I find it works best to turn my stamped image upside down and pull the ink from the bottom to the top of the petals.  This way, the color is lighter at the tips.

I added Wild Wasabi Cotton Twine from the Painted Blooms 3 pack from the Occasions Catalog.

To add some extra glimmer, I used my glue pen along the lines of the tulips and sprinkled on some Dazzling Diamonds.

Now, the big question... which is your favorite color?  I like them all!  This could be made with just about any color in our line up, don't you think?

Thank you for looking in today.  Happy Hump Day!

Love is Kindness - Spring Extravaganza 2015

On Saturday I attended a Spring Extravaganza put on by Lorri Heiling (my fabulous upline!).  Oh. My. Goodness.  We had so much fun and the projects were all wonderful and beautiful!

I don't think I can pick a favorite, but this one I'm sharing today would probably be the winner, IF I could pick one!

Isn't it just beautiful?

This great little project holds notecards and envelopes, perfect for gift giving!

Here are two of the cards we made to go inside.  We received an entire package of 40 note cards and envelopes to use later.

Here is what we used to decorate the inside.  Such a great stamp for inside.

Thank you for looking in to my blog today.  I'd love to hear what you think about what you see here.  Would you take a minute and leave a comment?

Have a Blessed Sunday!

Love is Kindness

It may still be winter and we just had our first freeze warnings here in Phoenix, AZ, but it's never too soon to start thinking about springtime flowers and the essence of love.  Especially with this great little single stamp "Love is Kindness" available in just a couple more weeks (January 6th).  This stamp is in the 2015 Occasions Mini and since I love tulips, I just knew I had to have it.

Colors used are Daffodil Delight, Pink Pirouette and Wisteria Wonder.  Each of these colors also come in Blendabilities (Pink Pirouette - available in January).
