Lotus Blossom in Rose Red

Playing with color combinations again with the Lotus Blossom Stamp (one of many FREE choices with $50.00 purchase during Sale-a-bration).

Today I used Blackberry Bliss and Rose Red.

A lot of the combinations I've been reading about and trying start with the light colors first and stamp the darker color last.  With this one, I wanted the Blackberry Bliss a little softer, so I stamped it first.

With this stamp set, the Lotus Blossom comes with numbered stamps, so you know which stamp is first, second and third.

Stamp #1 - stamped with Black Berry Bliss
Stamp #2 - stamped with Rose Red
Stamp #3 - (the solid stamp) also stamped with Rose Red, but stamped off onto scrap paper first and then stamped onto the flower for the final result.

The base and first layer are Rose Red card stock.  8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4".  The second layer is 5 1/4" x 4" and embossed with Large Polka Dots embossing folder and is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The Whisper White is 4" x 3" and matted on Black Berry Bliss 4 1/4" x 3 1/4".

I then punched two Wild Wasabi banners with the Banner Punch and blinged them up with Rhinestone Jewels.

Making it a Happy Day!

Thursday was just 'one of those days'... actually, it's been 'one of those weeks', so I decided it was time for a Happy Day card! I actually spotted the idea for this card from Connie Stewart.  I changed up the colors, ribbon, sentiment and added an extra layer, but it was her idea and it made me happy!  So it became my project for Thursday night for posting today.

I used Pistachio Pudding and Pink Pirouette for the colors.  I stamped the bunny from Cheerful Critters onto Whisper White 2 1/2' x 2 7/8" with Black Memento ink and then stamped her dress again on a scrap of Whisper White so I could punch her flower corsage.  The white layer goes over a Pink Pirouette layer 2 5/8" x 3 1/4" Then I stamped her dress several times onto Pink Pirouette using Strawberry Slush.  I cut out her dress and adhered it to the white and black image.  I punched additional flowers out of the other pink dress dots. The card base was cut at 11" x 4 1/4" and scored it at 5 1/2".  The 2nd layer is 5 1/4" x 4" and embossed with the Large Polka Dot embossing folder and popped it up with Stampin' Dimensionals.   I hope this cute little card has cheered you up.  It sure worked for me! OH.... BY THE WAY.... Have you spotted the newest Photopolymer Stamp set?  It is called Better Than E-Mail and it is perfect for those great "back of the card" stamps!  They are also great for any other part of your card!

Dot Dot Dot

Saw this cute idea by Stamper Dog and Ann Clemmer and just had to try it and then share it with you!  Thank you Ann, I mean... Stamper Dog and Ann!

I changed up the colors and the sentiment stamp, but the concept is definitely the same.

Make your own background paper with our Decorative Masks (133775).

Take your Circle Mask template and your Project Life pens.

Using either pen - depending on if you want bolder lines or lighter lines, start making lines from edge to edge and then make more lines crossing over the other way.  They don't have to be neat, just randomly drawn.  Don't worry about the mask, it will wash away simply by running under water or wiping with a wet wipe.

Here's how it looks when you lift up the mask, cute, but much better if you mark around the circle with your pen (see the next picture below).

Here they are ready to go.

Now just place your Banners Framelit over your dots and you're ready to go!

Super cute and super easy!  Plus, if you like to doodle like I do, it's even more fun!  So much so, watch my blog later this week for another card made using this technique!  Thanks again Stamper and Ann for your great idea and for sharing it!
